I play the violin and clarinet. I prefer my violin over the clarinet because sometimes it's very hard to play on a clarinet. And there is always an issue with the clarinet. To hot or to cold, or a new clarinet reed is the biggest fear on stage, they can squeak verry easily without any control. Especially the higher notes. Or from high notes to low notes. My violin has these problems luckily not.

That director looked like he was like "WTF" at the clarinet squeaker.
If some of the non musicians think this is nightmare, then i dare you try listen to Saxophone squeak ( especially Alto and Tenor )
Thankfully they're not in the orchestra too often, so we don't have to worry about that so much.
