That's what I was thinking. A wonderful comic odd couple. In this clip I love how Brosnan keeps casting sidelong glances at Llewelyn's bright red coat but elects not to say anything about it.
Yeh the director ruined the last one Pierce started in, which was a shame! As u can see, when they keep it simple and real like goldeneye and tomorrow never does, Pierce Brosnan is a great Bond
This scene was my favorite Bond-Q dialogue in the Brosnan era. Simple, clever, and genuine. You could tell they loved playing off each other. “If you could just sign right here, mister Bond............it’s the insurance damage waiver for your beautiful new car.” Loved it.
+Andre Sihotang Absolutely agree.. It is also so cool to see that much of the equipment is not that impossible anymore. Dream like creativity sure is a great starting point for innovation.
I think that’s what made the franchise lasted so long because he defeated the villains realistically with them unlike movies where the hero defeats them unrealistically without them.
I love how Q didn’t flinch when the car came back. He had total confidence that Bond would stop the car in time. Subtle but very telling. For all his bluster, Q knew 007 was the best and knew what he was doing.
3082103 : I own one and I have to say it's the best looking of all 7 series. Mine had got some unspoken class all other 7's have much less or even lack. Even BMW themselves admitt this (E38) is the best looking one ever made ...
john doe The others bonds not so bad?? C'mon!!! They were epic and Brosnan was fabulous. He was the new Roger Moore, ironic, smooth, and full of sarcasm.
john doe Pretty much. Although the Daniel Craig era is missing something. Gadgets for once, but moreover the whole concept of how Bond should be, he doesn't seem to fill it in so accurately.
Well, Mario, James kind of owns up to it. On hearing that Wei Lin's talents come from growing up in a rough neighborhood, he confesses that his skill with vehicles (in that case, a motorcycle) comes from not growing up at all.
It's a Jaguar according to the director. A deleted scenes interview tells us that in this scene Q and Bond were supposed to go to that box when it opens to reveal a Jaguar, a play on words with the car company that makes them before going to the BMW. But they cut that out and we got this instead. Go to "Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) Deleted Scenes" and get to 4:50
It's from a deleted scene. In the aforementioned deleted scene, Q opened that container and there was a jaguar inside. So Bond had a quip: "Jaguar, Q?", or something like that. It was basically a mistake on Q's part, but it was scrapped in the final edit.
"Thought you'd pay more attention to a female voice..." "i think we've met.." "let's see how she responds to my touch.. 😆" Bond meeting Q is always one of the best part of any James Bond movie 😂
Actually the Aston Martin DB V did not have GPS. GPS satellites did not exist at the time. It had a tracking device and it was basically a rangefinder for the homer. It did not get any info from satellites.
You're right, but the US was planning on the navstar gps system in 1960's. So I belive that MI6 and Q had a look into that system. ;-) Anyway, I wrote "sort of" gps :-D
+Voodoo Melon YOU are the type that would wake someone during a wet dream JUST so you could tell them they are dreaming. LET the perception happen, you bloody buzz kill!
This quote is gold! All these people today with their "Captain Obvious" have no clue how sarcasm is done cleverly - even though Bond has been teaching lessons for decades.
Q kind of reminds me of my grandma knowing I`m about to do smth stupid but she lets me do it in the end anyway. Also; Q: Property destruction? Bond: *without pause* Definitely Just good comedy gold
And now cars have parking assist and tailgate sensors and google already has a driverless car powered by google maps in testing all we need is a robot that will cuase havoc like terminator and hollywood is complete
There's a very funny bit which, sadly, was edited out of the film. Before Q reveals the BMW, he presses on his hand console and the giant box to the left of the car opens up to reveal - a leopard. I wish they kept it in. Then Q mumbles something about the wrong box. You can still see the leopard in the background at about 1:31.
I always used to think the BMW 750il was called 7-Soil (because the 5 looked like an S), but my brother guessed 75-Oil which would make more sense. It was just the way it was spelled. Now I know it's 750-il
And actually the way BMW has their naming scheme is actually very intuitive; because it breaks down to where the first digit is the model; in this case the 7 Series, the second two digits indicates engine size, in our case it’s the 5.0L M73 V12 engine, (although technically the ones actually used in the movie were 740iLs) and with the last two letters i means electronic fuel injection, and the L is for Long Wheelbase.
Maybe he was the guy who arranged for the car to be brought specifically to that hangar in the first place-- he could well be MI6 himself (OR, either that, or he isn't, and has been sworn to secrecy regarding what he saw, lest what you said earlier happens...).
There is a deleted scene in the Ultimate DVD collection. The box opens to reveal the "jaguar". Bond says "A jaguar?" and Q replied "wrong assignment". Moves to the next box and reveals the BMW, and you know the rest...
Yes I had, but what about the man working on the plane behind Q and 007, when he drives the car from the phone this man sees everything, I think perhaps he has 'seen too much' and must be 'dealt with', if you know what I mean?
It was a deleted scene, Q walked into the bay and introduced his new "Car" the crate wall's fell down and 007 says "Jaguar?" to which Q reply's "wrong assignment."
"Comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner and a remote for your car." Twenty years later most phones have fingerprint scanners and can remotely control your car.
it was part of a scene but it was cut out. in the delated scene Q said this is your new car and then the jaguar in the cage was reviled and then bond looks at him and said Jaguar?making a great little joke.
Pierce Brosnan & Desmond Llwelyn had great chemistry together.
That's what I was thinking. A wonderful comic odd couple. In this clip I love how Brosnan keeps casting sidelong glances at Llewelyn's bright red coat but elects not to say anything about it.
Sad that this was the last Bond that Desmond worked with.
@@AarmOZ84 Not true. The last one was The World is not Enough.
@@mirekg5704 I sadi it is sad this is the last Bond, no the last Bond movie, that Desmond worked with. I was referring to Pierce Brosnan.
The best Quartermaster ever in the series
The *only*, really. The others were placeholders. It's utterly ironic that he died in a car accident. No ejector seat.
This actor was the best james. Bond of my childhood!
Yeh the director ruined the last one Pierce started in, which was a shame! As u can see, when they keep it simple and real like goldeneye and tomorrow never does, Pierce Brosnan is a great Bond
HELL YAH!
johnny g Simple and real?? Fck off those were explosive and so was Die Another Day.
Timothy Dalton was the most convincing. Those ominous eyes.
TheTallMan35 Agreed, shame he didn't do more Bond films. Ian Flemming would have approved.
"Thought you would pay more attention to a female voice"
"I think we've met" lol
This scene was my favorite Bond-Q dialogue in the Brosnan era. Simple, clever, and genuine. You could tell they loved playing off each other.
“If you could just sign right here, mister Bond............it’s the insurance damage waiver for your beautiful new car.”
Loved it.
Q: thought u' d pay more attention to a female voice.
007: I think we've met
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery=the best Bond's ever!
Jake Kellogg Craig's Bond is boring. not my type.
Craig simply isn’t nearly as suave as Connery and Brosnan
Dalton
Yep
I was a toddler when I first watched this, and I was soooo impressed. Now, 20 years later we have both the car AND the phone.
Still one of the finest cars BMW has ever built
The Germans have always made fine cars.
Oh how I miss this Q and his successor's comedy in the gadget briefing.
Joshua Wong me too. now we have a gay nerdy Q.
Joshua Wong ,h vbub😩😡😳😳😩😩😃😧😱😶😶😩😂😧😴😧😆😴😮😦😱😩
This film initiated my love for BMW!
True.
Every bond movie should have a car/weapons briefing. The comedy relief for the movie.
+Andre Sihotang Absolutely agree.. It is also so cool to see that much of the equipment is not that impossible anymore. Dream like creativity sure is a great starting point for innovation.
20 years later and the latest BMW 7 series is now controllable by remote control via the key fob; albeit for brief, slow-speed parking jobs.
Without Q, Bond never would have survived anything.
true
I think that’s what made the franchise lasted so long because he defeated the villains realistically with them unlike movies where the hero defeats them unrealistically without them.
I love how Q didn’t flinch when the car came back. He had total confidence that Bond would stop the car in time. Subtle but very telling.
For all his bluster, Q knew 007 was the best and knew what he was doing.
This car was 20 years ahead of its time
Classiest and coolest 7 series ever
Really? I like the newer ones alot, they look alot like the 5's.
3082103 : I own one and I have to say it's the best looking of all 7 series. Mine had got some unspoken class all other 7's have much less or even lack. Even BMW themselves admitt this (E38) is the best looking one ever made ...
+Wim Peeters Which engine do you got?
+Kalle Specki the inline 6, 2.8 liters petrol. Is still a sitting project, doesnt' drive yet
Wim Peeters That is a great car! My parents had one of them with the same engine. Hope you make the best out of it.
Great dialogue between Bond and Q at the start concerning the "Insurance damage waiver for your beautiful new car"- Q is missed!!
This is the car that first introduced me to the brand and I've love BMW ever since she's such a beautiful machine even now ☺️
EVERYBODY KNOWS the pierce brosnan 007's were THE BEST!!!!
Debatable, but he is the Bond I grew up with, so I agree.
HDaviator hahaha, see you can't resist lol! he's the best, but the other bonds weren't so bad tho.
john doe The others bonds not so bad?? C'mon!!! They were epic and Brosnan was fabulous. He was the new Roger Moore, ironic, smooth, and full of sarcasm.
Firemarioflower haha, they were pretty damn badass too, but not as badass as pierce brosnan lol. i agree bro, roger moore was a badass mofo!
john doe Pretty much. Although the Daniel Craig era is missing something. Gadgets for once, but moreover the whole concept of how Bond should be, he doesn't seem to fill it in so accurately.
"Grow up, 007"
q always says that!
"Think we understand each other"
We don't hear that word anymore......
Well, Mario, James kind of owns up to it. On hearing that Wei Lin's talents come from growing up in a rough neighborhood, he confesses that his skill with vehicles (in that case, a motorcycle) comes from not growing up at all.
tranz2deep yes that's a good answer you are right buddy
This is whats missing from the modern Bond films. The wit and the fun. When Q turned up you knew you'd get some banter and laughs.
It's a Jaguar according to the director. A deleted scenes interview tells us that in this scene Q and Bond were supposed to go to that box when it opens to reveal a Jaguar, a play on words with the car company that makes them before going to the BMW. But they cut that out and we got this instead.
Go to "Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) Deleted Scenes" and get to 4:50
Poor Q, he knew very well Bond never brought back the cars in one piece
I miss Pierce Brosnan movies!
have watched it already but im talking about his 007 movies :(
It's from a deleted scene. In the aforementioned deleted scene, Q opened that container and there was a jaguar inside. So Bond had a quip: "Jaguar, Q?", or something like that. It was basically a mistake on Q's part, but it was scrapped in the final edit.
talk here listen here.
so thats what ive been doing wrong all these years
That bmw 7 series is pure class. One of the finest looking sedans ever produced.
The smartphone of the late 90's.
cool!
+Darth Sygnious When they ran Windows CE and I were almost Born
i really like that smartphone which can control BMW, it really like to driving RC car in no effort
yeah ericsson :)
Now you can control the MB E Class with it to park.
"Thought you'd pay more attention to a female voice..."
"i think we've met.."
"let's see how she responds to my touch.. 😆"
Bond meeting Q is always one of the best part of any James Bond movie 😂
When i was a kid the Q scenes was the main part of the bond movie for me. I found the gadgets extremely interesting, and the funny Bond haha
The part with Q having Bond sign that insurance paper could sum up what Fairy Tail does on a daily basis.
+SulliMike241 yup 007 had to sign it out because every time Q gives him a car it comes back wrecked.
funny!
SulliMike241 a stuntman was driving the car my dad told me that
How sweet it sounds when he speaks german. Like a little boy who kindly learned to speak :D btw Im G E R M A N
A car with GPS? James Bond movies are always so over the top..
Old school bond news. The first Bond car with a sort of "GPS" were in Goldfinger from 1964 ;-)
Actually the Aston Martin DB V did not have GPS. GPS satellites did not exist at the time. It had a tracking device and it was basically a rangefinder for the homer. It did not get any info from satellites.
You're right, but the US was planning on the navstar gps system in 1960's. So I belive that MI6 and Q had a look into that system. ;-)
Anyway, I wrote "sort of" gps :-D
Next they'll be putting fingerprint scanners on phones.
Shame I wrecked this car...
shame your not Pierce Brosnan anymore
haniputani or Daniel Craig is not a real James Bond.
Cuz u are stupid
AMV12S Daniel Craig is more James bond than Brosnan. Firstly he's not even British and secondly he portrayed him nothing like the books.
Brosnon will always be Bond, he worked with the material given and revived a dyeing franchise.
A nice trick of perspective at 2:47, they aren't even standing in front of the car. :)
+Voodoo Melon YOU are the type that would wake someone during a wet dream JUST so you could tell them they are dreaming. LET the perception happen, you bloody buzz kill!
Hee hee, don't worry, i love this scene. :D
I dunno man... Might be worth missing the sticky mess afterwords lol...
Just like Knight rider! Bond always breaks everything q gives him
BMW Seven hundred and fifty Oh Q 😔
Q: "Talk here, listen here."
Bond: "So that's what I've been doing wrong all these years."
This quote is gold! All these people today with their "Captain Obvious" have no clue how sarcasm is done cleverly - even though Bond has been teaching lessons for decades.
That car has one hot voice
Austin Roberts like q said Bond would pay more attention to a female voice
The best BMW 7-Series ever.
Love this film
The best Bond and a lovely part.
Q kind of reminds me of my grandma knowing I`m about to do smth stupid but she lets me do it in the end anyway.
Also;
Q: Property destruction?
Bond: *without pause* Definitely
Just good comedy gold
" ...and this i am particularly proud of .... "
90s Nostalgia Bomb. Was a teenager back then.
"... and, Double O- Seven, please return the equipment in pristine order"
wishful thinking on Q's part
I can imagine in HISHE where bond doesnt stop the car in time and just whammo
Grow up Shorty15c4007
The phone was awesome
agreed!
This was James Bond dude! Today's Bond movies is like WTH! Daniel Craig is awesome but the last three movies are like WTF!
007 is suppose to be witty and funny while at the right time seriousness. and I think brosnan MASTERS it
I love that sass Q uses in the "beautiful new car" line. Haha. I miss him.
10/10 would buy
God, I miss Desmond...
to think all these were science fiction!! iPhone has a fingerprint sensor and the bmw i8 has the app on it as well. wow
And now cars have parking assist and tailgate sensors and google already has a driverless car powered by google maps in testing all we need is a robot that will cuase havoc like terminator and hollywood is complete
+jjj8491 The new 7-series can actually drive its self in and out of your garage by remote. check out the advert! The future is already here!
+Rodriguez123 Rodriguez is that for real? ??
a car which drives itself? ?
I'm gonna be the first to buy it
Rest In Peace Desmond Llewelyn (Q)
pierce brosnan a great actor of James bond movie series .I love him.
I miss him as Q
bond always gets the good stuff! same still today!
Q was way a head of Elon Musk
So that's what I've been doing all these years hahaha best 007 line
RIP Q..aka Desmond L
E38 😙😙😙😙I love this car!
yes better quality then todays ones!
Gr8 b8 m8, r8 my E38
هع
My Alltime favorite in Bond Genre...
This truly is an awesome part, as I happen to know that Q would say "Grow up, 007" that is somehow his most attentive line.
1:31 - Is that a big cat in the cage in the background?
Q: Grow up 007!
Me: *laughs* Why?
Bmv 750 il scale button light and sound of BMV 750i
i like that BMW 750iL james bond.👍👍
nice BMW !
Classic BMW 750Li, nice one if you back in 97'
It aged well!
eldo59 yes, a bit like Q ;))
both engineered to last ..;)
My favorite Bavarian Motor.
750 is the same type beamer tupac was a shot in
There's a very funny bit which, sadly, was edited out of the film. Before Q reveals the BMW, he presses on his hand console and the giant box to the left of the car opens up to reveal - a leopard. I wish they kept it in. Then Q mumbles something about the wrong box. You can still see the leopard in the background at about 1:31.
Ahhh back when GPS was for secret agents.
Q is the only man in the world that would call it a BMW "Seven Hundred And Fifty"
love the 750 bmw hands down a personal fave and besides the the db5 the best bond car
you never drove stick before Q LOL best Q Briefing ever
Best Q. Ever!
I always used to think the BMW 750il was called 7-Soil (because the 5 looked like an S), but my brother guessed 75-Oil which would make more sense. It was just the way it was spelled.

“Here’s a car with a rocket launcher and a machine gun.” *shakes finger* “now don’t you be getting into gun fights. It’ll scratch the paint!”
how can i download or watch the full movie lll
Love the bond and car
It was actually apart of a deleted scene originally filmed for the movie. You can look it up, it's a gag with a car pun (being a jaguar).
And this is why I love the 5 series so much!
Then 10 years later I realised it was a 7; hey ho!
Fire?
“Probably.” My favorite
Got to love Q!
I think this is the only time Q refers to 007 as Mr. Bond even though he is working undercover.
Maybe he was the guy who arranged for the car to be brought specifically to that hangar in the first place-- he could well be MI6 himself (OR, either that, or he isn't, and has been sworn to secrecy regarding what he saw, lest what you said earlier happens...).
Which airport is this? Frankfurt?
Became particularly fond of the E38. Was used also in The Transporter, but especially in loved it in here.
There is a deleted scene in the Ultimate DVD collection. The box opens to reveal the "jaguar". Bond says "A jaguar?" and Q replied "wrong assignment". Moves to the next box and reveals the BMW, and you know the rest...
Q is the master of disguise xD
"I am not interested in your sordid escapades. Let's get on with it, shall we. Your new telephone. Talk here. Listen here".
Damn that must be the only time ever when a BAE 146 looks so huge. lol
Ah the harmony between car and driver. XD
Back then BMW our premium Nr 1 Car was 007 Car
Yes I had, but what about the man working on the plane behind Q and 007, when he drives the car from the phone this man sees everything, I think perhaps he has 'seen too much' and must be 'dealt with', if you know what I mean?
It was a deleted scene, Q walked into the bay and introduced his new "Car" the crate wall's fell down and 007 says "Jaguar?" to which Q reply's "wrong assignment."
I can't help but wonder what getting these cars through customs is like.
"Comes equipped with a fingerprint scanner and a remote for your car."
Twenty years later most phones have fingerprint scanners and can remotely control your car.
it was part of a scene but it was cut out. in the delated scene Q said this is your new car and then the jaguar in the cage was reviled and then bond looks at him and said Jaguar?making a great little joke.
Bravo 007 👍👍👍
what color is that?
