Not trying to get all dopey or sentimental or any of that crap, but for some strange reason your playlists have really had a positive, even healing impact on me like no other genre of music has. I just wanted to express my gratitude to you and especially all of the chiptune/8-bit artists out there who make this music. Thank you.

I don't care for it...I thought it was cool about 15 years ago because it sounded like alvin and the chipmunks, but not any more. It just shows how lazy some music artists can be when "creating" music of their own.
synth4ever Even if they were using dedicated chips (that still needed CPU interruptions to work), It shows how inventive hard/software engineers were back in the day with their limits.
This is chiptune, not 8-bit. Chiptune is where you can use a variety of noises and sounds that can be either to the level of 16-bit (such as games played on the SNES, playstation 2, etc), or more advanced. 8 bit is sounds limited to the NES, and it shouldn't go past the NES's abilities of sound.
Rebecca Chiptune Well you tend you use dedicated software like Famitracker, Milkytracker or others to emulate the limitations and of the systems, Chiptune is an encompassing genre for such computer generated music.
Listened to this compilation while on Mushrooms on top of a mountain. Had a small moment of enlightenment that I'll always carry with me. Thanks for the tunes.
+Space Tiger Despite the hilarity of that statement, if it is true you may uh, want to re-think doing drugs on the top of a mountain, it would really suck to get lost. Nice work on the enlightenment though, that's always good.

i remember i used to listen to these videos all the time back when this channel only had like 20 or so of these chiptune mixes up and holy shit it's crazy to see how much this channel has grown. same icon as ever, though, lol. something kinda heartwarming about seeing something grow when you remember what it was like when it was just starting out. goddamn.
How long has it been since I came back to this playlist... The first time was around 2013-2014, when I started college while playing a bunch of grindey games. Good, simple times, these specific tunes brings me way back UwU
Don't forget that most of those are 3 hours length. ^^ Yet, what I like about yours is that you, uhm, put only the best and HQ ones, such as Beautyful Brutality and Surfing on a sinewave, Potential for everything and the list goes on.
You can't please everyone, but I personally really like the track at 31:40 :) It is a better version of an old favourite I had in my collection of MOD tunes. Great mix btw, I really loved it and going to listen to your others on here ^^
These sound really good. I'm getting into chip tune music for a personal game project I'm working on. I don't think anything I put out will be nearly as good as these guys though. :)
I always love to come back to all these mixes once in a while :) It's just a little bit annoying, that the volume of this mix seems to get lower to the end.
in addition to what lickylicky48 said, you can use famitracker. Bear in mind that some of these tunes aren't 'real' 8-bit chiptune, some of them have higher quality drums, noise, bass and lead samples, so you can't expect to make stuff exactly like this using a genuine 8-bit program. But lsdj or famitracker are your best bets I'd say : )
