The worst machine gun of ww2 was the breda 30, the breda 30 is in the game with its 6.5 caliber, it is at least on a boat in the italian green water tree. Killing something with that gun would be unironically the hardest challenge of War Thunder and probably of any videogame

Probably also the people who used to get their barrels shredded in five seconds by coaxial machine guns. I’m pretty sure that the old system let you destroy Jagtiger guns with 20 rounds of .50 cal. BMPs used to be insanely busted because they could just roll up to the front of a top-tier MBT and black out their barrel before the enemy player even had time to process that they were there.
Yellow barrel is a pain in the ass tho, 75% chance of the shell stuck and the barrel broken, while unrepairable

Daily fun fact: The Churchill Goat was an obscure variant of the Churchill fitted with a big frame with explosive charges which upon reaching enemy fortifications would be dropped on them in order to blow them up.
Oh yeah! Crocodile is my favourite vehicle in the game. He will never do it though.
Churchill VII is the most chill tank in the whole game.
It is a combination of the two things that Spook hates to play: Slow vehicles and British vehicles, so I think that it's going to be a while until he finally decides to play it. On the other hand, you can make an interesting challenge out of the Crocodile like for example, he has to get a flamethrower kill or something like that.
Yeah. While other British tanks are slow and have no armour, the Churchill is slow but at least has armour. The thing is almost unkillable from the front in a downtier. Especially if you angle.

Wanna know another tank that italy has that ANIHILATES armor? The fiat, has good speed, 400mm of pen, and doesnt fuze aphe 60% of the time

The Fiat 1164 (or something like that) was one of my favorite tanks at it's BR, it's a shame that they keep moving it up

I still use it at 8.0, it would be INSANE for 6.7 if not for the slow turrent turn rate and reload rate, but it doesnt really affect yhe way i play it
The Fiat is a super fun vehicle, but the inconsistency of the HEAT and the horrible turret slewing rate makes it really frustrating at times. Still, nothing like annihilating cocky King Tigers with your pizza delivery truck!
It's a shame the R3 with the double tubes is sitting at a BR where the Raketenautomat, USH and XM800T rule, because that's also a stupid fun little vehicle that is just outclassed by everything else filling the same niche.

In case you forget spookston, we used able to break track with 5 to 6 50 cals, and break cannons with 2 sec burst, most used tactics is to spam 50 cals instead of angling, i think its a necessary change, but only for small calibers like 20mm or less

Day 108 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.
I gotta say, I'm a huge fan of the new energy Spookston's bringing into summer 2024, I liked chill Spookston gameplay already but the new energy he got goin this summer is a nice refresher for this trash of a game!

Italy is such a weird nation to play. But it can be so incredibly fun/frustrating you just keep coming back to it regardless. Especially when you're a Britain main.
I guess Britain mains playing Italy is a thing. I main Britain, but I love Italian and Hungarian vehicles.

Italy has so many cube tds with very similar shapes yet totally different performance, many inexperienced players cant tell the differences. That's a huge tachtical advantage.

You Should play the AMX-13 FL11, its fast, has decent pen with its APCBC, and deals a suprising amount of damage for its 75mm caliber, and only 65 grams of explosive filler
Actually, this variant of the Semovente was made by the Germans after the Italians surrendered to the Allies. They took almost all the Italian tanks they could and upgraded them to use against the allies in North Italy.
no it was designed by the italians who also started using it. the germans just continued production. no upgrades made by the germans. edit: infact the italians almost got to use it against the germans.

It was designed by the italians, but produced and fielded by German controlled factories in northern Italy. Only 11 I believe were made. These were exclusively fielded by the Wehrmacht, called the Sturmgeschutz M 43.

I actually really like the m-51. It's heat round is so good, you just need to aim for what you want destroyed. There really isn't much at it's BR that it cant pen from the front, even a doom turtle. Usually i just aim slightly right and below of breech, and usually the whole gun assembly and crew are pretty much wiped out instantly. It IS a bit of a glass cannon with the terrible cast sherman hull. It's extremely dangerous if you can be patient in a hull down position however.

the m41m 90/53. It has a 90mm canon, it is open top with really sturdy armor for some reason, and a aphe round that often overpressures anything it pens.
the only downside is its ammo count.

Stug was the tank that got me addicted to this game
I was playing UK as my very first country and I tagged a stug cross map on the move and instantly became hooked on War Thunder
Love seeing italian tanks being played! I would strongly recommend some of their other fun vehicles such as the Fiat 6614 or AUBL/74 absolutely brutal glass cannons in their own BR

Hey spookston. Ive long since stopped playing war thunder cause I felt it was unhealthy for me to play. However, I still tune into almost all your vids. I appreciate you as a fan
I gotta tell ya, the weirdness of Italian vehicles is 100% the main reason I have them up to 7.0 now.
Take the Lancia 3o for instance, goofy looking field gun on a light truck, yet it can load HEAT, HE and HESH. Or the armoured cars that sport fun autocannons that are balanced to be viable in lower BR.
But 4.0 is where Italy gets really fun.
The Breda 90 and 90/35 (sic) spgs pack an awesome whallop and with a lineup of the Turin or the PzIV , is extremely well rounded
I like to think of italian tanks based on T-26 from perspective of what Poland and USSR could have had instead of T-26 and 7TP. M15/42 suddenly isn't such a joke relative to them, is it? Not to mention assault guns on its chassis armed with 75/32-34 gun.

Spookston, I would like to see you play the Rooikat 105. It's a genuinely really capable light tank with a powerful gun. I think you'd have fun being a rascal in it.
FIrst try at getting Spookston to play with the BTM1 SAP shells on the T-69 II G or ZTZ-88A. Goofy shell with lots of explosive filler and near 100mm of pen at point blank.
One of my favorite tanks is the 3.3 version of this(75/34 M43). The gun is good for the BR and the armor is incredibly good as it is the same armor

Currently getting into War Thunder because of your videos. 4.0 and making progress, and yes, USA, because I don't know any better.
Heads up: if anyones having video playback issues and use a nvidia GPU with the latest drivers, roll back your drivers. I updated to 560.94 (on a 2060 Super) and it made this video have weird like, lag distortion issues (watch the grass for example as he's driving stay in place while the rest of the video plays) and made my GPU run at 60% just to watch a 1080p video (when I normally run at higher resolution). So I rolled back to the driver set right before it and Spookstons video is playing normally. It's NOT Spookstons video its the latest drivers causing the weird visuals.
Just a PSA for other viewers so they can enjoy the video.

Fun fact the “MG bar” is 1-1 with the breda 38’s mag capacity. The mag has 24 rounds and the bar has 20 pips. Ok so not 1-1 but close enough!
Crazy how different everyone's experiences in tanks are, personally this thing sucked for me because everyone and their mother would shoot the transmission casing and instagib me, also volumetric was a fresh new painful experience when I got it.
Now you should try another Italian anti-tank called the 90/53 M41M or how I like to call it mosquito tank. Surprisingly it can eat shots and delivers good meatballs at enemies. Once I was crippled so bad that the enemies forgot that I existed
