    I have Mr. Peter Chan to thank for getting into bonsai. He really does make it easy for anyone. I have hundreds of tree's probably now growing and so I'll have plenty to work with. I love shaping them and caring for them. They are living art.

    Great examples of specimen bonsai in the making. Too bad I don't live in the U.K. I'd make a beeline to Peter's shop and snap these beauties up.

    Great to see you back. Hope you had a great time in India. I would love it if you did a follow up of the trees with completed jins and re potted. Very inspirational.

    I never get tired of watching you exhibit your mastery. I have learned so much, but have become obsessed and seemingly addicted to creating Bonsai's, and Penjings . Also All this has rekindled my passion for woodcarving which I did much of in the 70& 80's, creating driftwood coffee tables, tea stands plant stands and several other artistic pieces. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for relighting up my life. may your blessings be plentiful.

    How come we never see anything about birch trees?
    They seem like they would make good bonsai.

      Their branches die easily, so its not easy to use them. I do have some Silver Birch bonsai.

      Would it be best to shape by pruning then? Is silver birch yamadori possible or are the roots as sensitive as the branches?

    My personal preference is to make bonsai with what I've got at hand but if I were to branch out and seek something exotic, the Itoigawa juniper is a real temptation. Very very beautiful trees! thank-you for this introduction.

    Thanks for making this, Peter. I live in the Pacific Northwest where mighty evergreens abound. To me, juniper (prior to my intro to bonsai) has always been a ground cover. Watching your juniper vids, I feel more confident to invest in a workable juniper cultivar and have at it.

    Mr. Peter! Thanks to you and your channel I have started the bonsai hobby! I want to ask you and your team; What is the best date to prune trees and bonsai? Is it true that winter is the best? I have seen videos of you where you also do pruning in spring and others in June (almost summer). Thank you for your teachings and greetings from Spain!!

    • @peterchan3100
      @peterchan3100 Рік тому +1

      You can prune throughout the year but there are different reasons for pruning at each of those times. In winter we prune to create structure, in Summer for making more twigs and branches and so on.
