- DLC characters in Smash are typically designed to be ABSOLUTELY BROKEN! You know, to make more DLC sales so you can beat your friends with cheap characters. One character doesn't seem to match that however... Yes, it's Piranha Plant. What were they thinking when they made him lmao

I play Plant, and all of that was his fault. Plant is bottom 5 but he doesn’t know how to cook
I'm fully convinced Piranha Plant was made for the base game but couldn't be finished in time. For one thing, she's one of the worst characters in the game, and she's the only DLC character to get a unique Palutena's guidance.
Please stop calling Plant a "she", you're misinterpreting the Palutena's guidance

Plant was designed to be bad. Pretty much intended to be Ultimate's joke character like 64 Jigglypuff and Melee Pichu.
Deedee is a falcon not a penguin. I made the same mistake when I played Kirby 64 (N64).
Several sources, such as Snake's codec call in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and a Kirby Twitter post using the nickname "mouthy penguin," imply that Dedede at least resembles a penguin. However, he is never directly referred to as one. The Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards Nintendo Power guide gives him the nickname "regal eagle," though this may have been done purely for the rhyme. In Shard Wars he is described as "not the friendliest bird". These nicknames may indicate that he merely resembles a bird rather than being a specific species.
That could also be a translation error. Remember, Kirby 64 came out in an era when game developers didn't really care that much about localizations.
