Just got shoes this evening. Can't wait to try them out tomorrow. True to size. Wear same size 13 as all other Brooks I've purchased. Very Beautiful... Mind Blowingly Light... Extremely Stable for such a high stack height ( 38 heel, 32 forefoot, 6 drop ). No wobbling from side to side at all... No rolling ankles inward nor outward in this shoe... Fit like glove & plenty room in toe box... Material ( mono-mesh / mono-filament ) is see through in forefront of shoe so can see clearly whatever socks one is wearing or toes if not wearing socks... Mono-mesh will permit heat to escape & air to come in with very little resistance; this keeping forefoot & toes nice & cool... Love Segmented / Decoupling separation of heel... Lacing Good... Heel Nice, Bit Shallow, Snug & Secure, but not too tight... Rubber on out soles probably won't last long... However, if like feel after couple days will most likely get me another pair to wear once current ones wear out since these are being released aa limited edition. Heard only 7,000 were made... It's expensive shoe if tread wears quickly, which I think it will... It's prototype shoe to tests, develop & experiment with multiple new techniques in one shoe... This would probably be perfect replacement /addition to Beast, just add same type of rubber on the Beast to Aurora-BL so get long tread wear... Love Brooks Aurora-BL so far...
They are simply fantastic... Cushion is great but not squishy... Very Stable, Comfortable, Light, Feet Stayed Cool, Especially Toes... I have narrow foot, medium arch... Normally I'd wear custom insoles with max cushion created in store that's molded to fit my feet... But the Aurora-BL doesn't seem to need the additional support nor cushion. However, I'm going to have some insoles made just to try & see what they'd feel like in Aurora-BLs... "Custom Insoles that are Perfectly Molded to My Feet " with Max Cushion Make Aurora-BLs feel even better & more magnificent & more fantastic... And additional height ( 2 mm ) didn't cause my feet to cramped or pushing against top of shoe... Shoe feels stable because last ( outsole design ) is mostly straight and outsole is very wide... The Extended Heel and Segmented / Decoupled Heel seems to enhance stabilty... They remind me how my Beast 16s felt & I loved those shoes. Went through 4 pairs, each shoe getting 700 to 750 miles ( I would alternate every other day between two pairs ) until reached 1400 to 1500 miles total... I used to wear Brooks exclusively & Beast 16s were shoes I started with when they first came out because I had sever over-pronation & bad case of Plantar Fasciitis at time: Aug 2016... After going through first two pairs of Beast 16s ( 1500 miles & 18 months later ) went to Runners Shoe Store and they did video of me walking on treadmil with shoes & barefoot & over-pronation was completely gone... Plantar Facilities was completely gone after three months of wearing Beast 16s... I fell in love with Beast 16s. I had never experienced the feeling of : Walking on Air, Walking on Clouds, Walking on Piillows before... Even after 5 to 7 hrs in shoes on all type of terrain ( hills: long descents & inclines, roads, sidewalks, hard dirt packed trails, rocky trails)... The best thing was I didn't even notice my feet... Not tired, Not Hot, Plenty of Wiggle room in toe box... Feet Just Felt Great... I would have stayed with Beast but they said if I did the motion control in the Beast would start me to under-pronate / supinate ( force foot to roll outward ) & there are no running shoes that could correct that... And it's not an easy anomaly to correct. Since there were no brook shoes I liked that I could transfer / transition into from the Beast, I went with Hokas for 2.5 yrs after & bought practically every trail shoe they had & many of their road running shoes too... For past 24 months have been in Hokas... Brooks Aurora-BL remind me of Hoka Bondi ( high stack height : 38 heel, 32 forefoot ), Clifton Edge ( extended heel ) & Rincon 2 ( super light )... I would highly recommend people just try Aurora-BL, that's only way to know how it'll work for them... No amount of reviews from others can ultimately determine if Aurora-BL is or is not for them or will or will not work for them... Took Aurora-BL to gym too and they were great there too... I'm very Proud of Brooks for Creating this Shoe... I've recently purchased Brooks Adrenaline GTS 21 & those should be delivered later today... Also got Glycerin 19, but it looks like the nitro injected foam will first be available in Glycerin 20s... I hope they'll continue to make Aurora-BLs or something very similar... I'd come back to Brooks because of this shoe... Like Aurora-BL looks too, color & style... I could see myself using the Aurora-BLs for next year or more if they continue to make it & outsole rubber last at least 350 miles & nitro injected cushion also last for that duration...
