Nice review, definitely need a diagnostics tool with bidirectional controls. Are you able to raise or lower idle rpm with this tool?
Just got the 909e for my home garage. It is a budget range compared to what I’ve had in shops I’ve worked at lol. Seems like an amazing tool for the money so I can’t wait to try it out myself, got it on a flash sale on Amazon for $380!!!

I'm trying to find out if this tool will do a few things and have been unable to find out before ordering one.
First, open and close the brake calipers to change the pads on my 2016 Mercedes GLC300, which is a requirement, as I understand it.
Second, my GLC300 has air ride suspension and a sunroof, so I'm wondering if it will have the functions on it for those systems.
Third, I also have a 2016 Chevy Silverado that I need to program a 2nd key for since my dealership has made me wait for a year without providing for $120. Will this tool program one if I order a blank and have it cut?

Will this unit be able to communicate with power steering system on 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee? My current launch tool can’t. This looks like a step up.
Im retired 67 with limited income. A diyer looking for scanner with bi-directional capabilities . My shop is a tiny garage or driveway. 400 dollars not bad I may get it thanks. I have the low end launch creater lv . Would be using for evap system problems mostly.great review

Hi. I have an Launch Crp909x. Why can't I use the OBD2 function on South African vehicles. It's says "make sure the vehicle is switched on and scanner plugged in and it has an obd2 port"

Have you tried the feature on programming the remote control to open the car? I saw it on the Amazon website that this is supposed to allow you to reprogram remotes or I guess keys.

Have you tried it on any hondas ?I have a 2007 odyssey and was disappointed in what special functions it supported.
take for instance tpms functions. The instructions given a for a different model honda ,with different steering wheel controls.

Does it have a subscription? As a home mechanic with no super new cars when the subscription ends can u continue using it normally or does it basically stop working until u pay agian
It seems like it works as normal per my research since it’s subscriptions are yearly update support, not OS/program subscription. Tread carefully with that answer, I’ll be purchasing one in the near future (within 4 months) and I will get back to you

Does this have bidirectional functions? gm crank reset, fuel pump testing, etc, etc?
Can you tell me what year written at the back? 2019 or 2020. Can you feel too that while using the scanner about 5-10 minutes it feels already hot at the back of scanner?
It is a 2019 David. I can't say I have ever noticed it hot to be honest and I have used it many times for that amount of time. I do however use the stand pretty much all the time so that may make a significant difference, similar to a laptop heating when left on your lap?
Just a thought.
Gerard Burke i also use the stand I put the scanner at top of the driving wheel. Dont you feel the hot surface at the back of scanner while using it for 5-10 minutes?

I have only the low end Launch Creader IV and have used a basic bi-directional one - (think it was an older 123). Found them easy to use for what they are.

Ya absolutely, I have no interest in looking at a scan tool review without someone using the tool and have awareness for its capabilities (or lack of)
I have been a fan of the high level Launch tools for many years but the basic ones are just no good for my needs. They serve a purpose but if you plan on working on vehicles even at home I would always recommend the next level up so you won't regret the purchase.
Very straightforward tool to use as you say. I suspect I will like this tool more and more as I get real world experience with it 😁👌👌
@@GerardBurkeBurkesGarage I have been using GScan's for many years and now am using the GScan 3, a pretty amazing tool. I have used SnapOn as well as some others that I can't remember. I guess the high end ones have their good and bad points, but it does become what you are used to as well.

All an all round capable scan tool the high level Launch ones are absolutely top notch.

I use it daily and like every scan tool it can't do them all, so far I have had a very high % success in the jobs I have needed it for, a recent failure was a Lexus RX200 rear brake service, our snap on also failed on that model too.
Does this unit calibrate air suspension on Mercedes??

Off the top of the top of my head I am not certain as I have not needed it for that,
I have scanned many Mercedes with it since I got it though including C180 coupe, ML & c200. It got all the info regarding codes and live data on those ones.

I have always liked Launch products so maybe they have a newer option that is comparable to the Topdon. Hope this helps.

This crp 909 is very limited on special functions on audi .been tested on audi a6 2016 auto gearbox , does very limited reset functions , gearbox basic settings clutch adapt : NO. AUTEL MK808:YES. ANCEL X7 : YES , ADAPT GEARBOX ,this crp909 not as good as they say . Seems like is got loads of functions , but not that good . I bet ancel fx9000 got more basic settings than this ,soecially for audi vw.This tool in my opinion is below autel mk808.
From what I can see I would agree but look at the price difference.. I think you are being arrogant in regards to your opinion comparing a mk808 to a crp909 .
@@ningcheng9776 price on ebay ,uk same on both of them by the time i bought crp909 ,and my mate bought mk808,we test both of them ,we tested ancel x7 tabket ,and x7 does basic settings on audi for example ,crp909 Not doing that.Autel mk808 beats both of them.price is similar ,probably 20-30£ difference.since brexit they added vat on all of them anyway. But as i said ,you can do alot more with x7 and autel,not sure about fx9000 ,wich is same sofware as crp909,only made by ancel ,wonder if they added basic settings on that software.i have calibrated audi auto gearboxes with x7 ,autelmk808 ,but not available on this launch.and not been arogant mate ,just saying can not do much .you can use delphi ds150 to change brake pads and us alot cheaper,or reset service.:)
