Thank you Harri! This song has a very special meaning to me, my beautiful wife of 46 years was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Parkinsons last spring, so we renewed our vows on her birthday in a surprise for her. This song was used as a photo montage background chronicling our lifetime together.
@Fred Ditt What a beautiful story. Tomorrow my husband and I mark 27yrs since the day we said I do… and we have. You and your bride are an inspiration AND an aspiration for us all! Bless you❤️🙏🏼
How about pop/rock Kenny Rogers? Try The First Edition : Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) when he was with this group. A touch of psychedelic Kenny.
I think everyone in the world loves this song. Kenny's beautiful vocals and this tender love song has captured everyone's hearts. The beautiful accompaniment just rounds this into one of the greatest love songs. Great reaction Harri. Daniel got ya! 😊 Thanks Harri and Daniel. Beautiful. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you for this reaction. Kenny Rogers was so good. Seen him in concert 2 times. You should react to his song "The Greatest" and "Buy Me A Rose" and then "The Last Ten Years".
Great song! You know you have made your mark as a human being when someone sings this song to you. I don't think there's a better reflective love song out there.
Though I know this song is mostly about a romantic type of relationship. But as a dad to a 9 year old daughter who has autism all these words in this song Hit upon exactly how I feel about her and how she's changed my life. Her uniqueness and views of the world have totally opened up my heart. She is my angel with a crocked halo. It's like hugging a thunderous lightning bolt and a beautiful warm sunbeam at the same time. I love this song.
Love Kenny Rogers music from when he was with the First Edition (60's-70's) to his solo career. He was a great story teller in many of his songs like "Coward Of The County" & "The Gambler". He had so many hits "Lucille", "Lady", "Through the Years" etc. He did a lot of duets such as with Kim Carnes "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer", with Sheena Easton "We've Got Tonight" & with Dolly Parton "Islands In The Stream". He also did quite a few duets with Dottie West.
This may come across as silly but when i was 11, i got a little chestnut mare. Sham (SHAWM) quickly became my best friend and confidant. Though she wasn't a big horse, she was "a lot of horse." i was a beginner rider and she taught me to be a true rider. Sham got me through my teenage years, my dad's long goodbye at home from Alzheimer's, life as a Military Wife (making several cross country moves with me), the birth of my daughter (who she taught to ride at 3), the death of my beloved mother and the pain of an abusive marriage. i lost Shammi several years ago at the age of 32. From the beginning, this was "our song."
Lionel Ritchie , A great singer in his own right, is listed as the Producer of this song. He was the saxophonist in his "Commodore" days. The song went to #1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart. Kenny was kind of Pop rock when he started out with Kenny Rogers and the First Edition. I think Country music kind of adopted him as his music started swinging that way with "The Gambler" and collaborations with Dolly and the rest. A great voice. RIP 😪
One of the most beautiful songs ever written.
My dad would blast this song in the car. Tears every time. He loved my mom and cherished this song

My heart broke the day Kenny Rogers passed away. His range and vocal abilities were so unique. Wonderful analysis and reaction Harri.
Such a gorgeous song; we sang this in highschool choir (showing my age lol). Check Kenny on ‘The Last 10 Years’ and ‘There Lies The Difference’.

All my life was another balled of kenny
What can I say another Texan. Howdy Hari
Reuben James is another song that doesn't get mentioned very often. I think he was with the Fifth Edition when it was released.
I’d forgotten all about that song! Just a great tune!!
Yes, good song. Also, "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town"!

Maybe you could react to Home Free- When a man loves a woman

Beautiful lyrics. It makes me think of a song by Wynona Judd called She Is His Only Need. Check it out some time.
Lionel Richie produced this track I think.
Steve Dorff and Marty Panzer wrote this song. Lionel Richie wrote lady
