Adrian is one of the reasons this movie was so special. She was more than Rocky's wife and cheerleader but his partner that stood by him when he needed it the most and picked him up when he was crumbling to the ground (Rocky III). She's an amazing woman, I don't think any other actress could have done her part better!

There's no two actors that were better suited for their roles than Sylvester Stallone and Talia Shire. Their on screen chemistry was both genuine and amazing. The love and commitment that their characters had that had carried over into the sequels is the stuff of movie magic.
She's such an eloquent speaker.
It was a love story. Stallone has said that Rocky is a movie about Adrian. That Rocky was a bum until he met her and that's when he because a winner. And I love that scene when they first kiss, too. GREAT MOVIE.

The first three Rocky movies are absolutely timeless.

Sly may have written Adrian, from his rib as she says - but without her brilliant performance, Adrian would not have been the same character. Without Burgess, the movie is different. Without Burt the movie is quite different, but without Talia I'm not even sure if they have/had a movie. In my mind, she makes the movie and her transformation is nothing short of amazing. With any other actress the movie may have not even succeeded. To me, the best performance by any female in any movie - and that's saying a lot.

I just love his sense of humor....Talia says that it's a great boxing movie and also a love story, I agree but....for me it's a LOVE story first, and then a boxing movie....and I've also watched that love scene a million times....I was 22 the first time I saw Rocky and instantly fell in love with Sylvester, he had the most soulful & sad eyes, just amazing looking...other than the fact of that dirty apartment, it was just wonderful the way they slowly sank to the floor forgetting everything but their passion for each other ~~

I only liked the first 3 Rocky films...and Rocky Balboa....don't remember much about 4 and I heard 5 was really bad...but I know you guys love action flicks...lol

the rocky movies are all so beautiful. like talia said they are a love story. not just between sly and adrian, but his passion for everything he did. it was like he was a super human because of his determination and passion, heart . it was very depressing with adrian's absence in rocky balboa, BUT he made rocky balboa to get a message across that he didn't quite get out entirely in the rest of the rocky's. he is so gifted and talia is so very beautiful in personality as well as beauty.! Big Fan!

I have grown to respect and appreciate Sly so much the last forty years. He truly embodies the Rocky character. The man is a beast mentally and physically. He writes, produces, directs, and acts. The man does it all and does it well. He's a real go-getter and never seems to let his career slow down.
I'll never forget the last few minutes of Rocky, with them trying to get to each other, embracing and not even caring about the outcome of the fight. One of the greatest love stories ever told, by two of the greatest actors in film

Totally agree. Every time I watch this and Rocky and Adrian embrace at the end and she screams... "I LOVE YOU!!.. I LOVE YOU!!" I cry.
All those beatings you took in the ring , i took them with you- speaks volumes about how deep love can be, and talia and Sylvester had deep chemistry where it became more than about fighting it was and always will be about heart and love

Some amazing movies.
Everyone loves the under dog, and all the under dog can give is there best. When that is enough sports can be amazing.
No film dramatises the under dog spirit that humans love then rocky. Even though i hate boxing as a port, rocky is great for the story, that we all love, seeing the under dog triumph.
In sports there is nothing better, then seeing a massive under dog beat the champion, just by giving everything they have. No one can ask anymore of a person, then giving everything they have.
All the under dog has, is that on there side. There is nothing better then seeing a total outsider winning, against all the odds.
Even though i hate boxing as a sport, rocky is such a great movie compilation, that it shows that human spirit within humans.
Talia will always be Adrian and Sly, Rocky. Talia is till beautiful for her age. She looks like she's still in her 30's.
I don't wanna see the women in there 30's you've seen, she looks great here but come on!

This is really Down to Earth speaking. Talia and Sly just come out and tell it like it was. They're brief, forthright and don't speak in all these pretentious Hollywood terms. They speak from their hearts and what a gentle humble memory it all was. Sometimes accidents happen for a reason.
You know whats great about Stallone & Shire, they may not have been in as many movies as most actors these days, but to make just a few magical stories that really inspire people instead of making a bunch of movies that don't really do that, I think thats a way better path to go on in my opinion.

Two legends. Sly is the rock and Talia is Adrian. Nuff said. And the rocky movies was a love story. Not just between two people. But a love story for overcoming adversity.
His Rambo series ain't to shabby either! And especially The 08 version! Just loved it!
Sylvester is the MAN! He is surprisingly articulate and well spoken and is a really motivating figure even without the Rocky persona! More people should look up to people like him.

Sylvester stallone went to college in Australia yrs ago if 1976 they interviewed Susan Sarandon, chear ,then Talia Shire walked in and she was the best Sylvester stallone had 106 dollars and in the break of set's they got food out of the trash ,only the one that had fresh food left. Irwin Winkler, and William chatnof liked writing in a spiral notebook. They had to do the movie under a million dollars and rocky one made the biggest franchise in history. Barry shulman.

i jus saw all the rocky movies this year and i can say i love all of them... the story line the actors... everything about it i loved dont know why it took me so long to watched them but im glad i did...

Rocky I,II & IV are my favourites. Unbelievable cast when you think they were mainly unknowns yet they just bonded so well together on screen.
Rocky III is the best movie that Stallone has directed.

Some of my favorite scenes in all the Rocky films involve Adrian/Talia Shire: the first kiss in Rocky's apartment, Adrian looking at Rocky from the corridor during their first bout, Adrian in the ring with Rocky in the final scene with Rocky, Adrian finally discovering her self-worth when she stands up to Paulie and says she's not a loser, and Adrian showing her toughness on the beach during Rocky 3. She was the cornerstone of the series.....her presence is even the backbone of Rocky Balboa despite her absence.

Rocky was a brilliant movie. Actors were pure and real. Sly never sold out. He didn't let money sell him out. He said he knew how to be poor and it didn't bother him. That's something to think about....

This amazing inspiring movie is proof of what happens when you can get hit hard and still keep moving forward. I read somewhere that what Rocky goes through in the 6th movie Rocky Balboa, is kind of what Sylvester himself was going through at the time..you know..having that beast caged in and not knowing how to handle getting older. He portrays the character with such grace, and emotion, which is what Im sure we have all come to acknowledge and love about this character.

Rocky is the biggest icon ever made for a movie. Much much bigger than Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker, Harry Potter, Aragon or Frodo. There is something real magical made by Rocky that you would never see in other movies. Plus Rocky could not be made by none other than Sly, only he had the power to be him. Cause there are so many things about Rocky that evolves Slys earlier life, the struggle to be somebody. There will never ever be a character like Rocky ever again. Thanks to Sly for making him

Talia absolutely found that shy nervous awkward nerdy girl. She did some home work on that character. I have never thought of ROCKY as a boxing movie. It is a love story about two people who complete each other. It is through Adrians love that Rocky finds his strength.
That movie still chokes me up everytime I see it, damn that movie had heart. It had a straight quite simple story, but it worked and still works, miss Shire was phenomenal in that movie, as were Stallone and Carl Weathers. Good casting is everything imho one may have a good story but it only works with actors that fit their part and transform that story into movie-magic, as happened in this movie

i love the way she says "rocky"its indelibly imprinted on my psyche since i first saw the end of the movie as a child,with stallone im only really a fan of this and first blood but those two characters are so rich in history and depth that its almost like he never needed to play another character.ive heard stallone say this before and its absolutely true;here in philadelphia we tend to forget that rocky is a fictional person,he is very much alive in the citys collective heart
