Best explanation ive heard yet of the grip. Super detailed, awesome in depth explanation! Hands down best one ive seen yet. Appreciate you making this video.
Well done Trottie. I struggle immensely with my grip and trying to conform to what other people say. This video is fantastic for the new and the experienced golfer to have checkpoints.
DUDE this helped me solve my grip issue! I can now bring the club back to square as it was at address. Without any manipulation of my wrists or hands clubface now returns square. Thank you so much! Subscribed!
That tape tip might be what I need. I have small hands and short fingers, so its hard to get the grip with my right hand. I have always had my right thumb in line with the grip, if that makes sense? Man I wish I could have a fitting with you. I feel like a fitting with someone like you would be a game changer.
Great video, love it! First one I've seen that explains how the grip manipulates the club and I now know I probably need 1 1/2 tapes on my grips! Thanks Trottie!
Thanks Chris … all the grip 🧅’s you need in one stop! Just what I needed for my new son-in-law who’s starting golf for the first time. On another tack though.. what’s your view on using jumbo grips… a lot of stuff on YT atm saying they increase Club head speed etc,etc … your 🧅’s appreciated as always 👌🏻 Cheers H
Son in law? Good effort Leia, always knew she wouldn't be left on the shelf :0).... jumbo's not for me personally as too late in the day for me to make the switch, however...... I've not extensively tested them or seen much about how they increase speed?? Text me an article on it & I'll consider some research. Cheers H #wirralmassive
whoa trigger finger was great for control - finally someone explaining it easily - if you see this can you elaborate or reenforce the part where you said elbow tucked to your side for the rotation - should it stay tucked the whole way through rotation?
I’m obsessed with grip just now so this was very helpful Trottie thank you! I have been golfing from a young age and have just got back into the game. I have always used the baseball grip. I have just got my handicap back down to 2.9. Not sure if I should try interlocking at this late stage. We all know grip changes are super uncomfortable and I’m not sure what the advantages are of interlocking over baseball grip. Thanks 😎
Awesome stuff Trottie been playing since I was 3 and play right handed but am lefthanded. My left hand grip changes all the time and I have never had power problems, but teachers are always trying to weaken my left hand to get me to hit it left to right. The trouble is my right gets too weak and I can't hit anything but a high right shot. Glad to see what I have always felt is much closer to right. What do you think of Moe Normans grip?
Another great video. Thanks, Chris. Right grip size is also important for perfect gripping, I guess. Can you please share with us your grip specs - Standard 60R, 58R? I'm interested as it seems the size of your fingers are similar to mine. That would be helpful.
Hi Trottie! Thank you for your video. I’m starting to playing again after an accident make me stop for 10 years because of my back injury. I’ve been recently fitted a whole set of new clubs and for a midsize Golf Pride grip. I have an interlock grip but I cannot put the right hand correctly. My right hand feel not comfortable and I get it strong and the V point way out of my right shoulder. My hand length is 8.3 inches. I watched the videos where you show the tour pros grips. Tiger, DJ, etc., if I understood well, all plays with a standard grip with some wraps additions. Why is that? I suppose they have at least the hands long as mines, but they don’t play midsize grips. Should I try to go down to a standard size with like 2 wraps and see if I still feel weird? Right now it’s like if my right hand pinky knuckle fights with my left index finger knuckle.
I think you could have the grip too much in the palms opposed to the fingers, that's key when it then comes to which grip size you go for. The guys often build up tape for durometer, be sure to look out for that opposed to going straight midsize, it's another preference. I think you have to really try and get that club in the cradle (fingers) and then go from there. Tough to give much guidance beyond that without seeing you in person
@@trottiegolf thank you very much for your reply! I was thinking the same. Maybe I can’t feel the grip correctly in the fingers because it is too big. I know how to grip it correctly but if I did that right now it feels just really weird. I will try to experiment and practice with different minor sizes + wraps and see if I found the right for me. Thank you very much for your advice! It means a lot to me!
@@trottiegolf you’re a stud! I started golfing a lot 6 months ago, and haven’t slowed down. I was 36 hcp at the beginning, I’m now around 12, your videos have been amazing to help me get better. I got an in house setup with a nice range mat and a R10, I’m going to start with the basics, this grip change is a little awkward, but it definitely allows me to move the club better! Thanks man!
Tough to say where the perfect wear marks should be but follow the piece about pressure points and the cradle and see if things change. You certainly don’t want to be restricting movement by holding the club like a hammer 🔨
All of my wear marks are on the palm of the glove. Not a single wear mark on the fingers. And I've been playing golf for 4 years like that. Jesus flying christ.....so I've been gripping it wrong the whole time!?!?!?! No wonder why I can't break 80
Part of the enjoyment of the great game of golf is being out on the range working on getting better, The PROCESS makes the end game the best there is!

Unity…. I’d give it a run this winter the interlock shouldn’t be too killer from where you’re at hcp wise
@@trottiegolf thanks Trottie. Really appreciate the response. Keep up the good work! From bonnie Scotland 👌🏻🏴
Great video as always if i put bigger grips or more tape on is that going to have a big effect on swing weights. great video as always.

really enjoyed the video, just wondering does your left thumb go straight down the middle of the shaft
Imagine you underline the Golf Pride on my grip and the line continues through the middle of your left thumb. That's the perfect positioning
Thanks again this has really helped me my grip was close before but this video has helped immensely last few rounds have been very solid
This is great, sorry for the late response, what are your thoughts on the right thumb?
My thoughts?
Down the left side of the shaft for the right handed golfer.
Create the V

I do the same to be honest but don't stress it. I'd say glove not tight enough or grip pressure too strong....but I wouldn't stress that at all

Some golf pro told me that the trigger finger was causing problems with my swing. Not sure what to do now.
Easy! Are you hitting it better? If "yes" then drop it for now, if "No" then fire it back in
Is there meant to be wear marks on the palm of the glove?
