- In this episode, I get to spend some time wandering around the Native Watercraft/ Liquid Logic Factory, and meeting the workers who make your kayaks! Native Watercraft is based in Fletcher NC and has been making top quality kayaks in the US for over 15 years. Thier roots run deep in the paddlesports industry with top names like Woody Callaway, Shane Benedict and Steve Jordan all on staff.
We hope you enjoy the behind the scenes look at what goes into making a kayak. We'll have a lot more behind the scenes footage from my trip in upcoming videos so be sure to subscribe!

Love the factory tours, thank you. When you look at the cost of a new boat, you rarely get to see all that goes into making one. Gives me a much greater appreciation to the efforts and costs associated with a new boat.
Very true!
Love Love Love this... I was fortunate enough to drive up to Fletcher (from Atlanta) to pick up my 2019 Native Titan 13.5 from the factory. I got to meet Woody, and he showed me all around the factory.. He's really a Class A Guy!! That factory is AMAZING, and I was like a kid in a candy store seeing the process play out.. That's what you call CUSTOMER SERVICE.. Woody said: "Come on back, let me show you how your new kayak began!".. It felt like I came in and watched them build my kayak right there in front of me.. Coolest experience ever!!
BIG thank you to the seat makers! Keeping me on the lake for hours! Love my slayer 14.5!
That's cool, I used to work for a rotomolding shop, it all looks the same haha.
Very interesting tour. Big thanks to the company for letting us see their process.
Treasure Pirate they really pulled out all the stops. In the next video I get to go deep into the R&D room to learn how they bring an idea from computer to reality. Fascinating stuff.
Awww man! Can't wait to see the review of the Max.
I flew up to North Carolina and drove out to their factory November this year. The crew there is really nice and knowledgeable in their craft. Very well built boats
That was beyond cool. So great that they open their doors to you like that. Seem like a great bunch of people. That saw she was using...oh man, what a sweet stocking stuffer, hint to Santa. 😂 Awesome vid Dan, thanks!👍🍺🎣
This was pretty neat to see how things are made. Thanks for sharing this.
Super cool.
Great tour! Thanks. I’m fired up to go out in my Ultimate as soon as the weather lets me.
It’s good to see local business and people making world class things.
Great video! Probably the most comprehensive tour of a kayak factory, all the others I’ve seen hide a lot. Thanks for the hard work!
Thomas Chekouras my pleasure. The guys at Native Liquid Logic were awesome.
Thanks for the video Dan. That was awesome!
The factory tour was very cool. Very interesting process.
That's awesome!
After the watching the Crescent Kayaks walk through I had to go back and see what other kayak company walk throughs I had missed. Love these!
Cool! Interesting to see how they are made 👍🏼
So glad you did that tour. Really shows how much work goes into making them
Very cool! Thanks Dan!
That was fantastic always wanted know. Thanks for sharing
As someone who is new to kayak fishing this inside look was so cool! Enjoyed seeing and hearing from the people behind the brand. Keep doing these. Thank you!👊🏻
This coming year, I'm getting a slayer. Great video, thank you.
Dan, that was super rad. So proud to be part of this team!
That's pretty cool 👍
Pretty cool. Love my slayer 14.5.
Thank you so much for an awesome video, love your channel and it is the best one hands down. Looking forward to your next video. Best regards from Sweden.
Johnny Thörnquist, Team Native Sweden thanks for watching. It was way cool to get a VIP tour.
Amazing!!
That was cool!!
Another outstanding video!
Very Cool to see the whole process... Thanks for sharing... Dennis, Canoehound Adventures
Excellent video! Really enjoyed that.
You really do such a great job!
What an awesome video. I'm impressed 👍
Cool video. Thanks for sharing.
The 2022 slayer max is what this one should have been :-)
Thats awesome.
Thanks for sharing. I assumed the hulls were sourced out and I had no idea the kayaks were made entirely at the factory. Same goes for the seats...I assumed they were simply assembled in the US. Now I know where my kayak was born!
nub Fishin right! They work to keep as much of the process in house as possible.
Awesome video Dan!
these are awesome videos... keep up the good work.... such good informati0n
The foam core release 🤯
Great info
This was awesome! Look forward to seeing the Max. I hope you get to stop by Crescent Kayak's new location while you're on that side of the country.
Kursah not on this trip. I did get an invite but I only had 10 days and I had a lot to pack in. Hopefully next year. James is Aweosme.
V. interesting. Looks like a good product. (UK)
Love the bow mount option in that slayer max
Yes me too. Lots of smart rigging on this guy.
Dangman wish I knew you when you was over here on this coast I'm about 2 hours from Fletcher
now just waiting for this kayak shortage so i can order one of these kayaks
They get pet points. Cool they let dogs come to work. That new slayer looks like a candidate for my next wildlife photography rig. You can sneak up on some serious wildlife on a river with a Minn kota 55. And a Battleborn battery.
That first desk is where the dude or chick updates the website to make sure everything is out of stock besides car stickers and the peddle system.
I want one now lol
nice nice
Two rear storage and rubber should of had groves continued back in rear to get rid of water?
Can I get the new stayer 10 🇦🇺??
Awesome vlog brother! Loved the inside look at how these yaks are made!
dolphan991 thanks
Are the slayer seats the same as the Titan seats and if not which ones are better thanks
they need to add rudder control on right hand side for us left handed fishermen
That seat cushion material would be great for aquarium biological filter media, what's it called? Who makes it ?
Rear end rudder and access round storage should of had groove back into rear to flush water away
I live in fletcher!!!
Hey Dan can u make a video comparing the Slayer propel 10 versus old Town PDL 106 I can't decide out of the 2
This would be a good video
I noticed that when they were removing that one from the mold it already had the decals on it....HOW?
I can see Bonafide getting a propeller pedal drive. If they keep it $1800 or less, it will sell.
SOMP SENG won’t happen but if it did I’m sure it will sell well. Made in US with the features and quality they provide will always be above 2k. Unless they cut some corners like what Hobie did with the Passport.
Did anyone else see that chupacabra run across the room?
Those moulds will be many thousands of dollars to have made.
That Inuit in a 14.5 would make a good day touring kayak for you to review... Hint, hint
CHEVYHDINWV I’d love to do that one. I’m really pulling for them to do a new touring kayak to compete with the Stratos. Their quality and outfitting is the best, but the hull design is dated.
I bought the 12.5 from them. I prefer it over my wilderness system tsunami 125
You sound like Dana White!!
Do you have kayak for scuba diving purposes ?
Unfortunately Bonafide quality has went down since moving into this facility.
Prices
Dan; is there a number I can call to speak to native?
#freeryanlambert
Nice kayak cost more then the boat I got
safety first!!! NO HARD HATS, SAFTEY GLASSES, NO BUENO!!!
Sir O -Scar 🤷♂️
Seriously, if there were to be an accident there and OSHA were to investigate, your video could serve as evidence. I love the fact that they have dogs but come on, in a factory setting you really should lose the mom and pop culture in some places. The guy using the air nibble to cut out the holes should seriously have some kind of safety glasses. The lady cutting the seat material should use safety glasses. The kayaks stacked up in the inventory should have some kind of safety catch to keep them from fall out om someone possibly walking by. The overhead crane use should definitely call for hard hats. The use of safety toe shoes is not a standard thing here as well. The lighting you were playing with can also likely be a safety violation. I'm not trying to be the safety police but at some point you have to grow with the business, safety will keep your staff safe and happy, plus it'll keep you from having OSHA off your ass when there is an "oh shit!" moment. You may thumb your nose at me but the owners seem to have invested a lot of time, money, effort and people into the overall business. A little bit of safety protocols is cheap insurance. Not being a hater just a Native customer that has been in this type of industry. Just to put things into perspective, an extension cord that has been patched up with electrical tape can be a $10,000 fine per violation.
There is a point where it shouldn't be called a kayak anymore.
