- This week to meet with Shane Benedict the Designer from Native Watercraft as he takes up behind the scenes and shows us how he brings concepts to life. We see the plug process, molding process, and fitting process. Then we hit the water with the very first production Slayer MAX! Huge shout out to Native for allowing me to video their process and give you guys an in-depth look behind the curtain.

Thank you guys for all your hard work!!! Ordered my slayer max Saturday!!😁
That's awesome!! Thanks for bringing this to us. Really enjoyed seeing those details. There's a ton of work that goes into the making of a kayak.
That was awesome Dan! 👍🎄🦌🎅🤶⛄
Wow this is cool I'm so ready this year will be my first time owning a kayak can't wait to get on the water and go fishing
I am new to kayaking, I have been struggling with what kayak to purchase, but after watch how these guys make the boats right here in the 🇺🇸, I am sold,
So cool! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, finally you show us the magicians!!! I am supperfan of this criatives guys!
Great video Dan. No other creator on UA-cam provides the depth and breath of content for the sport that you do. I have been a subscriber for a while and I really dig your channel. Thanks.
So great that you are respected enough in the industry to be able to get into the factories and show us these manufacturing details. As companies merge and get bigger, I just hope the manufacturing doesn't go to Asia. Manufacturing jobs are (were) fulfilling jobs.
Awesome video, Thank you so much!
Thank you for a great behind the scenes video.
Keep the slayer 12.5 videos coming.
Would really like to see a comparison between the slayer 12.5 and topwater 12.0
Thanks
so cool!
Very cool!
Square, Compasses, and Level. I think Shane is on to something.
Native makes some of the best kayaks on the market
Very cool! 👍🍺🎣
Please PLEASE make an option for right hand or dual side steering!!!!!
This is the only thing I can think of that I would have to have for this to be the perfect rig.
Very cool. Hey Dan- can you do a review of the 2020 Slayer 10 and the FX12 “Pro”? What’s new on those? Heard the Slayer 10 has a higher seat.
Will you be reviewing the new Vibe Shearwater 125 later this coming new year?
Sweet now that is nice 👍
I'd love to see how you go from finished plug to mold. You mentioned aluminum foundry. The foam plug can't handle the temperatures of molten aluminum. Is a sand cast female mold made then a metal mail mold followed again by final female mold for rotomolding?
Great video! I never knew how much went into making a kayak. Do you know if the Slayer Max has the same injected foam as the Titan has to add stability?
No it does not
Yes right hand controls please. also i am thinking about the manta ray propel 12 for river fishing without the drive then using the drive when on the lake. Has anyone used this model on a river is so what are your thoughts on it. Or maybe we can get a river review on his model that would be nice also.
Smooth finish???? Native has a funny definition of smooth, 12 max molds are producing sandpaper like feel hulls, thanks NATIVE!!!
Saludos a migo eselente
If you see this please reply you said it is fast plus the stability how does it compare to the big fish 108 I know it's been a little while since you been in the big fish 108 I know one is a 10 feet and 1 is a 12 feet
Thanks for the video. By the way, the title says "Native Slayer 12 Max". 12? Is it not 12.5 (twelve point five) MAX? 🙂
I watched a video on that orange slayer on moo moo outdoors Chanel and the slayer had a wiring harness and switch panel for the switch plate was wondering if you can let me know where to buy those I’d like to do mine the same way. Thanks
Wstn please give us a call and we can ship you what you need. I don’t have a parts list online, but I can walk you through what we did. 209-224-8367
Guess I'm second!!!!
Can this be an option for occasional ocean fishing or go with a Native Titan or Hobie PA?
Suefow Saephan yes for sure.
Suefow Saephan yes for sure.
I'll take one in BUBBLE BEE yellow and black please!
I thought of another kayak propulsion system! Tim
Great freakin video! Looks like it will turn on a dime. I swear it looks like you almost tipped her over @ 11:45
Explain why it takes on so much water......
Let's see if its finally time to sell the old outback..
someone take this out a couple miles offshore trolling for pelagics
Don’t do it ! You will get a deck full of water ,scuppers are defective
There are a lot of pedal kayaks but only 1 native slayer kayak save your money and buy the best Native kayaks
Robbie Johnson the kayak business is full of folks like this saying one thing is the best and the only. Don’t buy into this Dogma. Is is ignorant and untrue. There are many good brands building fine craft. Do your research, demo, and make an informed decision.
Very cool!
