There's a pretty good stand out in downtown Decatur, along the backside of the city cemetery. Even bigger trunks, in fact. Also, out near Medlock park is a pretty good stand. Once that stuff gets established, it's pretty hard to kill it off.
@@user-gh8wt2zi2n I think the proper term is a canebreak, or at least that's what a historian told me. There used to be great swaths of canebreaks across the United States, they were home to a completely different cast of life than we're familiar with today. (RIP Carolina Parakeets, Passenger pigeons, and Bachman's Warbler, to name a few I know) With the loss of those great biomes, we lost what lived in them as well. 😔
@@user-gh8wt2zi2n I do believe the term forest can be applied to different ecosystems and plants etc, I also didn't realize a palm was a grass , cool stuff
No the whole park is filled with trails and shoreline of the Chattahoochee River. It's just one section of the park it covers a decent portion though when you get in the middle of it you can't see where it ends and begins.

It's pretty cool indeed 😁
Might have to check it out thanks for the video
It's pretty cool if you're ever in the area definitely check it out!
It grows all over here in GA. Literally forests along the road in some places. Not unusual or exotic if you live here. Glad you had fun though!
We're from Georgia lol it's only unique because it's in Atlanta.

Haven't seen those areas. Are there water sources nearby those? Yeah it's pretty much impossible to get rid of
It's funny they call it a forest when bamboo is actually a grass
Yeah that's pretty funny lol

How big is the bamboo forest? Does it cover the whole park, or is it just one little area?

Was just there! We must have missed each other over the weekend.
This was a month or two ago just scheduled videos. We enjoyed the trip though it was cool finally glad we got to check it out!
Why I don’t go hiking in Atlanta. You either find, or you become the body.
Yeah we've been putting that place off for a long time it was worth checking out though.
I was just there. Lol
This was our first time checking it out We thought it was pretty cool! How did you like it?
@@NickandRachel Andy said it was great. Lol
