Silken Windhounds were founded and developed in Austin, Texas by Francie Stull, a successful breeder of show and performance American Kennel Club Borzoi and Deerhounds, using her favored Borzoi and Lurcher bloodlines.

My silken is a great watchdog. She barks whenever something unusual is happening outside. Or if someone is on our porch. Not a guard dog though, so the video info is accurate. Good job 👍

He sheds even after being brushed daily. That’s what they say, some do, some don’t. A good breeder , should be open about all the dog’s features. The Silken is definitely a choice, you won’t regret.

​​​​​@@mayabakhat2709 all dogs except for non-shedding dogs shed daily despite brushing. Silkens shed lightly compared to the vast majority of long haired dogs because they're single coated. If you've only owned short haired dogs before, then you just didn't notice the shedding. If some silken breeders are telling people that a daily brushing prevents all shedding, then they're lying to make a sale. They know better.
