- Here is short review of my 2017 honda grom, I bought it second hand with a little under 2,000 miles on it.
I've had it since 2018 and been using it for doordash, ubereats, caviar, grub hub and postmates.
It's been very reliable and fun.
This speaks volumes to keeping your bike stock. Thats a good little workhorse
Mechanic at the honda dealer said that groms with BBK are the ones coming in for repairs, best to keep it stock.
What is BBK?@@Two_wheels_dasher
Grom is the KING 👑 of bikes!!!
Now I know I can trust my '24 CT 125 , long term . It will stay stock and taken care of . Thanks, nice video.
Regular maintenance and you'll get thousands of miles trouble free.
By the way I love the ct 👍🏾
You should put the amount of miles in your video tite, that's an incredible amount of miles on that grom!
Will do, thanks
Nice! Same style as mine , I have a 2018 bought it with less than 300 miles, I love mine just to put around on and back of my skoolie😊👍👍
Hey u really did a great review of the bike cause at 50k miles and still runs like new it’s super realible With this video anyone can now tell the grom its a rock solid well made bike.
Thanks. Yeah it's been very reliable, just regular maintenance. Forgot to mention I don't stunt maybe that's has contributed to its longevity.
very nice sir. this is fantastic!
Thanks
Way cool!
How did you mount the box to the back? How secure is it? I've thought about doing this setup for a while now before I buy the Grom.
I bought a vagabond rear rack for the 2nd gen grom and bolt it the box to it, it's super easy and super secure.
@two_wheels_dasher Thank you. I was also wondering how does this perform going up steep hills? Do you need a running start or can you start on the hill?
@TheRedArrowExpress no problems on steep hills. Grom is so light that it can manage them easily.
@@Two_wheels_dasher Thank you for taking the time answer all my questions
@@TheRedArrowExpress of course, anytime
I’m about to trade my 2002 Honda shadow for 2017 Honda grom with 4,000 miles on it do you guys think is a fare trade ?
Different type of bikes and it depends on what you use it for or need for.
you're a legend! nice! How often did u change oil? Did u use Honda oil?
Yes, honda oil only.
Oil changes in between 2,000 and 2,500 miles.
There's a reason those engines are so popular all over the world. Change the oil regularly and they will just keep going.
Facts
Did you replace the chain and did you have to adjust it frequetly?
I replaced it once for a heavy duty one at the honda dealer. Original chain didn't last long. And new chain did not needed that much adjustment but I always cleaned and lubed the chain that's why it lasted me for so long.
What bars are on it?
I think those are pro taper Evo. I sold the bike already and bought a monkey
How do you handle drinks doing delivery on a bike?
@@ian5220 don't hit anyyy bumps and don't lean the bike over too far is my guess lol
hello how do you do for connect a phone charger without drain the battery? i have a grom 24 and that happening to me
I have one that has to be turned in and off manually but if you forget it might drain your battery
Hell yea bro I’m at 9,600 miles mine is a stunt bike tho so we’ll see how long it last
Nice, I don't stunt, not becuase I don't want to, but becuase I can't 😂.
These groms can take a beating and still go strong as long as you keep maintenance on point.
I put that same style of box on my bike, was used in a grocery store for stocking shelves.
Nice, they are perfect for deliveries
How many batteries have you gone through?
2 batteries so far.
Have you had to replace the Cam chain tensioner ?
Nope, I asked the mechanic at the honda dealer and he said if it's not making a noise there is no need to replace it.
Currently I'm at a little over 54k and still no problems at all, untouched engine.
Only time I open the engine is to clean the centrifugal filter and that's every 7k miles.
Nice Grom.
Thanks!
I’m 31k more than yours 😂
Nice. These little machines are beasts. The bike is almost at 60k by now. You should make a video.
@@Two_wheels_dasher he should
How do you find the seat ? Is it comfortable?
It's not, it's horrible but I bought the padded cushion on Amazon and it helps a little. Some say that corbin seats are the best but I'm not gonna spend 500 bucks for a seat.
@@Two_wheels_dasher good to know. I have a ruckus I use for delivery. Gonna sell it and get a grom. Up on the air between getting a 2nd Gen or getting the new 3rd Gen.
Hard to decide but I would go with 3rd gen just because it's got the oil filter.
On mine every 7k miles I have to open the engine to clean the centrifugal filter which is easy to do but time consuming.
@@Two_wheels_dasher3rd gens have 2nd gear bushing issue which causes engine noise. That's why you see so many for sale. Don't get rid of your's
Nice to know. By the way I sold the grom and bought a 2020 blue monkey, same engine as the grom.
