    The next best thing to actually being there is watching our shows filmed aboard the Yankee Capts as we fish deep into the Gulf of Mexico for multiple days at a time. This is part 2, the conclusion of Expedition Gulf. We target snapper, grouper, tuna and more and I spend the time discussing everything you need to know to make the most of these long range adventures.

    Great videos… thanks for sharing your trips and knowledge. I worked on head boats out of Brooklyn and Staten Island NY in the 80s and 90s started at 14 yo. Everything from half day, full day, crazy drunk night bluefish trips, and a couple times a year, offshore long range. Tuna in the Hudson Canyons and Cod in the winter. Thanks again!!

    You guys need to hook up with the guys from Hubbards marina out of johns pass St. Petersburg, they do multiple different long range trips and they catch loads of grouper over there.

      Did that trip mates were rude and only took care of certain people the rest of us had to fend for ourselves and at the end of the trip they want tips and we lost a lot of our fish

    Question? Is there a fish processing company there to clean and vacuum pack the fish, for the fishermen that fly there to fish? so they can take home all that good meat?

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  3 роки тому

      No, but you can pack and ship them back yourself through a local UPS shop. Please join my new streaming channel with 300+ instructional videos at www.FSFTV.com. Sign up today and receive a free trolling lure. - Capt Mike

    What the heck jurisdiction does FWC have 100 miles offshore in International Waters. From what I have read once a vessel is outside the three mile limit they are also outside a State's legal jurisdiciton as well and USCG then has rights on the high seas.

      They showed up to do a fisheries inspection. It was surprising more than 100 miles from shore to see them roll up.

    I would bet money FWC showing up there wasn't just coincidence. Good opportunity to show up and send a message that you can expect them to be anywhere anytime.

    How come its a 4 day trip but can only keep a 2day limit? And if its a 2 day trip can you still keep the 2 day limit or is it a 1 day limit for a 2 day trip?

    • @ytpython73
      @ytpython73 6 років тому

      Fairly normal regardless of state. Typically referred to as a "trip limit" "field limit" or "possession limit." Two daily limits is widely used, but always know the regs of the state you are fishing or hunting in. And yes... in Florida the rule is any trip where you are on the vessel over 24 hours you can keep a 2 day limit. You can find that on the charter site and the DNC site.

    • @FloridaSportFishing

      @@FloridaSportFishing Raw saltwater cooling its what we use on the west coast. It keeps your catch cold and frozen untill you hit the dock. Its what we use to cool down tuna quickly after bleeding them

    Where are your electric reels this trip?????????

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  6 років тому

      This was a Pulley Ridge Lite trip (200-400 ft.), we don't fish the deep (500+) unless conditions allow, and no electric/power assist reels at all. All manual. - Capt Mike
