    Love your vids, informative and entertaining. Question: what are some good tell tale signs to look for when pushing offshore looking for dolphin? I know birds = bait = bigger fish that eat bait, but what are some other strategies I could use? Thanks Capt. Mike!

    Great job on the dolphins they fight so hard on top water or on spoons you should try some bass lures like jerk baits or spinner baits I caught a them off of jerky and bacon

      Think of a baton race. Once new fish is tired enough to keep next to boat. Pull the old fish left in and get another. Repeat.

    Today we went dolphin fishing out of marathon and we got a nice bull on the troll but then decided to change it up and do some running and gunning looking for birds and debris. Under every bird we saw, and under every piece of debris we saw... Their were lots of schoolie dolphin, but we could only keep there attention to hook up on only 1 or 2 fish IF ANY. What should I do? I throw chunk ballyhoo and squid on hooks and throw free ones out. But like I saw they eat one or two chunks then leave, thanks!

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  9 років тому +1

      Mogan Mafia Sounds like and it may be possible the fish were pretty beat up from recent boats/crews. Have you tried live bait like pilchards? Often times when they wont eat chunks, they'll compete for the live bait. Another option is bucktails, plastic shrimp or other artificials. Of course, not everyday is a gangbuster day and sometimes you have to take the good with the bad. Thanks for watching. - Capt Mike

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  9 років тому +1

      Alan Sabourin Hi Alan, this show was filmed east of Deerfield Beach in about 1200-1500 feet if I remember right, however sometimes you can catch dolphin in 100 feet and sometimes 2100 feet, and everywhere in between. Everyday is different. Look for clean blue water and of course, well formed weed lines. Frigate birds are also an excellent sign. Thanks for watching. - Capt Mike

    • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  9 років тому +1

      Alan Sabourin Right now there are lots of schools in 300-600 ft, small fish, I would recommend 15-20 miles out for quality fish right now. - Thanks again. - Capt Mike

      Oducks58 We publish Florida Sport Fishing Magazine which takes up most of our time. Producing Florida Sport Fishing TV is an additional full time job. With that being said, we only have limited time to fish a few tournaments but to be clear, this is all of our jobs/careers. Fortunately we are able to do something that we are very passionate about. • @FloridaSportFishing
      @FloridaSportFishing  10 років тому

      FreekickerzUSA Look for well formed weed lines, color changes, rips and most importantly, working birds. Sometimes dolphin will be feeding on the edge in 100-200 ft, especially during the winter, and sometimes you have to go 20+ miles offshore. Thanks for watching. - Capt Mike

    Love your magazine and videos, subscriber to both. BUT (there's always a but), you mentioned you didn't find any big gaffers yet your video depicts you guys keeping every large fish you caught. I get it, three fishermen aren't going to put a dent in the dolphin ecosystem but you guys are producing videos seen by thousands of fishermen. Maybe you can keep some of the big fish and also show you are releasing some of the big fish. Just a thought, not being hypercritical. You guys are great.
