- This is a recording i did for keyboard virtuoso Valeriy Stepanov in late summer at my studio. The track is called Earthquake and is featured on his latest album. Some of you noticed me posting a short clip on Instagram and asked to share the whole thing on UA-cam. So here it is.

People mention some names like Portnoy, Lang, or Virgil in the context of technique and musicality. But this dude's playing is somewhere in the outer space. The rhythms, beats, chops, executions, feels, they are all really distinctive. I'm your big fan Mr. Sebastian!!
guitar on sky seriously man. This guy is criminally underrated and under noticed in the drum community, probably just due to his affiliation with technical death metal. This needs to change!
100% right there. Incredibly underrated drummer. His metal drumming is weirdly hip and groovy in a genre that's mostly focused on drive.
I agree with all three of you...Virgil is my favorite but this dude is a savage in his own right. Totally underrated...keeps time like a machine. Love this music, I'd choose blindness over deafness in a heartbeat

Yes he is awesome and my favourite but u should listen to fusion, funk and jazz to see that there are many studio drummers which also play those kind of rudiment fills and no one knows them Watch some valeriy live clips and you’ll see

I am stalking this guy on UA-cam and I often read comments about how underrated he is in the world of drumming. I would not call it underrated. I think he is just a bit too intelligent for mainstream purposes. Hopefully he will never step down to "more commonly graspable levels" just to please a bigger crowd. Isn't a successful life one where you stay true to yourself?
