Love this video, really helped me "get" Scribus in a way I was really struggling with.

Very nice tutorial, thanks. I especially like how you showed the guides. It would be easier to modify your text using styles, though, rather than setting all the properties individually.

A serious Note: The Processed PDF is large in size, if anyone want to reduce the size of the PDF (Web optimized PDF), Reduce the resolution from 300 DPI to 72 DPI for both (document & Images). :)

Thanks! This was excellent. The only place I struggled to follow was when you added the flourishes from the scrapbook. Are those shapes that you created? My scrapbook is empty.
@simonabbot You are correct, the flourishes from my scrapbook are elements created ourselves. You can create and save your own scrapbook items in Scribus or import SVG images form a number of online sites that provide them for free.
Where can I set up wha tyou have on the right side - content properties. I dont have that window there. Thanks for the reply.
@Yoe Kovalik, The Content Properties and other control panels on the right of the screen are opened control panels that have be docked to the right edge of the Scribus application. You should be able to open any Control Panel by using its keyboard shortcut or from the standard menu by selecting Windows and then the name of the Control Panel you would like open. You should then be able to click and drag the panel to the left or right edge of the Scribus application window and watch it snap into place as it docks itself.

Yes, you can certainly use Scribus to create PDF publications that can be submitted to print-on-demand services like Amazon KDP or IngramSpark.

Is it possible to export a pdf as a spread? To combine two pages into one after exporting from scribus?
PDF viewer applications Like Adobe Reader can be configured to display pages individually or spread. Scribus doesn't have a feature that tells viewer applications how to display pages as this is usually a personal preference that has to be manually set.
Where'd you get the scrapbook option? I do not see that anywhere at all lol
It's like you have multiple options at the bottom of your properties list but I don't know how to add that to mine. I'd appreciate the help.

Good tutorial but a few how-to details are left out. One that I cannot accomplish with Scribus 1.6.1 is creating a flourish. The flourish elements/icons/tools, I cannot find anywhere. Any advice?
Fair point. The flourishes used in this video where created by combining simple shapes, selecting all of them (click and drag) and then right-clicking and selecting 'send to' and then Scrapbook.
If the Scrapbook tab is not visible to you, it can be opened from the standard menu.
From the standard menu you would select 'Windows' and then 'Scrapbook'. The flourishes are effectively SVG images stored and available for all of your projects. If you are not feeling incredibly artistic (like me most of the time) you should check out Creative Fabrica (link in description). They give away a bunch of SVG images, icons, and flourishes every month.

The version on of Scribus in this video is 1.5.8 which is currently the newest version of Scribus.
To create the 'thick font' you should create a text frame, select a font and font style (i.e. Arial and Bold) from the Content Properties window (F3). From this point you can convert the text frame to an Outline to scale and stretch the text content.

I dont have the scaling section here.
For the scaling section to appear, you will need to select an Image frame and ensure you are viewing the correct settings panel.
I did all that You showed and it went fine, but my scrapbook folder was empty.
By default, the scrapbook folder will be empty until you create a design to store in it. We have a video explaining how this works in our Getting Started with Scribus series.

The content control panel can be accessed from the standard menu under the Windows option or by pressing F2 on the Keyboard.
