Say I start out with an already built wheel, 48 spoke, 3 cross. Will I need longer spokes? Seen a friend with a stretched cruiser, with the initial cross pattern. I’m considering getting a stretched cruiser and lacing the wheels like this. This pattern looks amazing!
No, not this pattern. At the time, I felt that it was too far of a stretch with a 20" rim and i didn't start twist lacing 26" wheels until later. i would try this on a 32h or 36h 26" wheel. Actually....I let me see what i have in my bike graveyard. It might make my next video.
Yes!...but I've never done it and i don't know how strong they would be. 27.5 wheel puts more torque on the rear spokes. I wonder how much abuse they could take? I might be doing this in a future video.
Yeah, someone said I should have called it “lotus lace” because they look like pedals. The first time I did it, it reminded me of the “Jesus Fish” on the back of people’s cars. lol
I am doing a new 3-cross 559er, and as I smack each one with a stick, I realize that this harpsichord music is the perfect key to tune my spokes!

Can you do this on a 27.5" wheel?
I've run twisted spokes on a 26" DH rim for the last 15 years, I don't see why you couldn't do the same on a 27.5.
