in my first playtrough on the remaster i got Caxton, even i made the all Madeleine quests (and she had max affinity), now on NG+ she is already maxed out lol.
Jun Kaname yes that is something i did forget to mention. Affinity carries over through playthrough. However over time it will return to neutral levels
I recently got the game and finished it without knowing about the beloved thing, and my beloved was Ser Maximillian because I talked to him the most lol
Maximillian would get his affinity raise easily and cannot be avoided. If you were to make it to your 2nd playthrough, Maximillian would already be asking your arisen to for an escort the minute Duke Edmun asked your arisen to head to the great wall. All it takes is doing the 4 wymquest and accepting the the sidequest of going into Catacomb.
It's almost funny how the devs clearly had no clue how to let you choose your beloved. Instead of a dialogue option that lets you set someone as your lover, which would've been simple, we have this jank affinity system that you have to manipulate and finagle with just so you can hope that the game picks the right person for you.
@qqq??? i think your Right. And it’s more interssting then in Skyrim where it’s just „hey i Equip a item and now everybody Loves bc me magic“ But it’s really cluncky here and i hope i will get at least a female person 😂
@qqq??? what? I just baught the Game on Amazon yesterday so i don’t even have it right now. But i did watch some Videos to hype myself. Then somebody did mention romance and i found This Video here. But in the comments here some had males or some Even had kids 😂 Thats why i did say „i Hope i get a female at least“ So please chill
@qqq??? I always play as a female in video games (well games that have this choise) bc i will be looking at this Character for a long time. I can’t wait for the character creation bc hight and weight have influence on your character. This is so nice so have Form a roleplay view. And you don’t see how much affinity you have? In a other Video somebody mention that you can splash water on the people you don’t want etc. Crazy 😂 Im so fk hyped to play this game
@qqq??? hmm good Question 🤔 I don’t know what kind of waifus there Are, i just have one big big no go, woman with short hair, urgs that’s a big nono. Other then that I’m open to anything, is there a dark skin woman? 🤔 maybe that’s a good contrast to my own skin color, like Vanille and chocolate. That would be nice. But i have to look that up and awnser you again.
You can do it by the round about method. If the person you want is already gone (due to quests not due to the dragon taking them because once dragons takes someone it's locked in) you just need to make sure that you don't talk to anyone else with an equal or higher affection. If you have someone else and you accidentally talk to them you can lower their affection with items or by drawing your weapon right in front of them. If you lower it below Madeline's then she will be the highest affection recently talked to by default
Spoiler alert: . . . . . . When I was at the end, made me choose between Selene the witch and fight the dragon, I guess she was my beloved. because I tried to give her the right herbs. But in my new game I saw Pablos from the Inn glowing. Too bad I already lost Madeleine after I helped her out in that one mission. Anyway. Thank you for the info!
I am somewhat a completionist when it comes to quests so even characters I don't care about I will do their quests. This will be my first playtrough that I'll finish DDDA and I want it to be with the beloved I want. So far I already have several blushing characters that I'll simply have to disappoint. It hurt giving Quina Liquid Effluvium, but she won't be the first or last to receive it. Aelinore is next if I can find her. I don't like her at all, I would rather the innkeeper or Caxton, that harlot is just disturbing to me
You don't have to give Quina any Liquid Effluvium. As long as you don't give her any gifts, she won't take you. She only takes you only if you propose. Even if Quina is considered to be the arisen's childhood friend does not mean she will force the arisen to say yes. Quina is ok with rejections. If you want to keep that relationship platonic, Quina will understand. All you do is complete Parting Gift and be done with it. You don't have to visit her after that. Aelinore could easily fall in love with you so you can use this timeframe to lower her affinity. Think about this. You get 5 days to prepare for Fournival's trial. In those 4 days, just visit Aelinore and unshealth your weapons to lower her affinity if you don't want her. You do have a chance to do all sidequests and still get any beloved you like. You don't need that Liquid Effluvium. Innkeepers are easy to please since you use that service often. Caxton can be easy to please if you actually enhance weapons from him or you buy so many things from him or perhaps you use him for your weapons and armor achievements. As for that Gran Soren Innkeeper, he will fall in love with the arisen easily even without gifts. Candidates you pick are the types that don't require any ring so therefore you don't have to chase. Your arisen can get away being an introvert. Your arisen does not have to ask anyone out or do the proposing. Instead the one you say you want will confess their love to your arisen instead.
Well i was stucked with so many skulls, . . . I gifted to Nelle the female Bandit , . .. 😂😂😂 and gaved me a escort quest to prayer falls., .. . Rewarded me 100 silence arrows and some exp and gold
Here's what I did...You get a quest early in the game to find Quina in the witchwood...do that quest and (I think) you also at an early point need to meet Selene...so find her hut in the witchwood and meet her. Do all of Ser Maximillian's quests then do the "Come to court" quest that Maximillian gives you where you meet the king.Once you walk back into the town square where the fountain is there is a merchant at one of the stalls named Brice and you overhear him talking to others about how the townsfolk are starting up a witch hunt against Selene. Go to Selene's hut in the witchwood where a strange rock formation which is blocking a secret door to the right of the hut's stairway turns into a Golem. Slay the Golem then go into the secret door, follow it through a tunnel into a secret part of the witchwood where you'll find Selene standing beside her "Gran's" tombstone talking to Gran's ghost.Selene will inform you she will live with you at your home in Cassardis. Pick up all the loot around the tree go back to Cassardis and you'll find Selene at your house.Pretty sure you have to wait at least a day (maybe more, not sure) then go back to Gran's grave in witchwood where a mysterious stone tablet is propped up against the tombstone. Some random guy is there who tells you that he can't translate it but a priest could. So you take it to Father Geffrey at the Cathedral in Gran Soren and he tells you the former Arisen in the cave on Hillfigure knoll can decipher it.Take it there show it to him and the tablet magically becomes a ring..."The Arisen's bond" which you can gift to whoever you want to romance. Convoluted AF, I know. Played this game since 2012 and never knew about the "Arisen's bond" until this year. Funny thing is though...I gave Madeline the Gold idol and several gifts maxing her affinity but gave Selene several gifts as well as the Arisen's bond maxing hers too. When I faced Grigori it was Madeline I had to save and Madeline who came to campfire and made out with me. When I woke up in my house BOTH Madeline and Selene were living there with me...both with that pink glow around them. My Arisen be straight up pimpin'.
Okay this one was my common late game outfit. It is the carrion set. (Chest armor, arms, and leg armor) black gaiters for leg clothing, Laurel circlet as the head slot, and chest slot was hard leather chestplate. I'm pretty sure that's all of it.
Dart1920 uggg I’ll never get it lol way to hard I did ever fall help beat the ur dragon and not one piece of armor and common weapons u can get at a merchant have no clue what I did wrong

This was insanely helpful, thank you very much for the much needed info.

In 1st playthroughs, you won't have that many that blushes so you can still choose who you want as your beloved.
