While Mystic Knight is Lawful of the magic classes, bestowing strong defense and preparation, Magick Archer is pure Chaotic as he lights himself on fire and charges at you with murderous intent.
I agree. On another note, Mystic Knight's combination of Abyssal Anguish and and Blitz Strike (Evolved Burst Strike through ring item) is one of its most powerful skill combinations, even more painful if you have a sorcerer pawn with the High Fulmination spell casted to you, and it even makes the boss enemies stagger more often than what other melee vocations can do. I remember farming the cursed dragon using only the Flame Enchantment spell and Great Cannon. The dragon just kept falling down and wasn't able to do anything lol. Although I did have to take the sorcerer's augment that lessens cast time.
My favorite part of magic archer is how it locks on to enemies. I don't have the best PC, and I'm not the most perceptive person, so spotting enemies can be tough. But with Magic Archer, I can just pull out my bow and enemies will be highlighted before they even see me. Magic Archer is one of the best classes for night time combat, because you don't have to be able to see an enemy to fight them effectively. With Hunter Bolt marking enemies and staying on them even after they move out of your sights, you become amazing at dealing with harpies and wolves in the dark, wide open fields of Gransys. Combined with Great Ward Arrow protecting your party from getting wet or cursed and Sunflare + Instant Reset allowing you to jump to incredible heights, Magic Archer is the best exploration character in the whole game. Heck, there's even a magic bow that makes you auto-heal when sheathed, all the way to full health, so you can travel solo and never need to use healing items except in emergencies, cause you'll be topped off between every fight - just switch to the bow when you're hurt and switch back after. Magic Archer is amazing! (Sorcerer comes in a close second though - Maelstrom is probably even better than Hunter Bolt for fighting enemies you can't see.)
@@kilivanjg2813 I don't tend to worry too much about optimizing gains but my general suggestion would be some time on Sorcerer to boost your magic damage.

My birthday is coming up so I'm gonna be a little busy for a bit, but I'll be sure to finally round off the guides with Assassin as soon as I can! It's crazy to think I started this series almost a full year ago, and I feel like I've come a long way since then. Once again I'm immensely thankful for this incredibly supportive and friendly community! I wouldn't be out here making these videos if not for all of you. Here's to making 2023 a bright year of boundless new experiences!

Just started playing the game a few days ago and I went with mage thanks to watching one of your class guide videos! I thought I was going to be able to do maelstrom & rain down meteors but realized soon after I had chosen the wrong class lol, but I am still enjoying it none the less & will eventually change vocations when I deem it the right time or if I run into any issues but so far so good! Anyways my man, you have earned yourself a new subscriber & I think the effort you put into your videos should land you wayyy, way more subs than you currently have. I believe once Dragons Dogma 2 comes out and if you make class videos such as these for the new game you will get all those subs you so greatly deserve brother! Keep it up and thank you for the great content ❤😛

Came for the MA tips, left wanting your Arisen sliders lol! Top guide, but really, what are the sliders? That is the nicest male Arisen I've ever seen.
Lmao well I've never actually attempted to share sliders before but, since there seems to be some amount of interest in this I can give it a go! Ironically, I feel like my old console Arisen looked better but I never quite managed to replicate that on PC due to forgetting all the details. Anyway, I'll drop the numbers here: (If I don't note a slider, assume it's set to default in the middle) - HEAD - HAIRSTYLE - 01 FACE SHAPE - 39 EYES - 04 (Sliders - Spacing: slightly narrow, Size: slightly large) BROWS - 33 (Sliders - Vertical Position: slightly down) NOSE - 04 MOUTH - 27 EARS - 05 (Sliders - Position: slightly forward) - BODY - HEIGHT: Just one adjustment from the center towards short WEIGHT: Slightly slim MUSCULATURE: Slightly skinny TORSO - 10 ARMS - 02 LEGS - 07 STANCE - (Posture: slightly imposing, Stance: slightly ladylike) - FEATURES - SCARS - 01 WRINKLES: Fully shallow FACIAL HAIR: 29 MAKEUP: 02 - COLORS - HAIR: Brown (Top row, second from the left) (Facial hair is the same, eyebrows are darker - top row, dead in the middle) SKIN: Light (Top row, second from the right) MAKEUP: Deep grey/black (Top right corner) EYES: Reddish amber (5th row down, far left) (Incidentally, Voice: Type 1) Of course, adjust as you like. Happy new year TRAITOR/giga chad brethren, I love the vids and ur getting really good at editing these, they that good that I might even try the game one day
I have a question that I cant get an answer for on ANY of the videos I watch. I'm a Strider and want to eventually change to a magic archer. WHEN should I change my vocation, and should I change dir3ctly to magic archer or should I choose a mage class first? 8 don't really understand how they cross over if at all. If I choose mage first, does it unlock abilities for my magic archer right away and do my strider abilities cross over as well? Or does it not matter and I can choose to switch whenever I want to? I'm surprised nobody talks about this for new players like myself who doesn't quite understand the vocation system yet. All I see in these videos are, if you choose this class then you can do these cool moves, WOW, awesome right? Lol it doesnt really help because I can just look at the list and see the abilities for myself, doesnt help me plan out my build at all. If anyone can answer this for me I would really appreciate it. Thanks! 👍😉
That's because "planning a build" is frankly such a tertiary thing in this game. As a new player you're placing far too much stock in the idea of min/maxing when raw levels tend to make you immensely powerful in the first place. If you REALLY have to know, to get the most out of MA or any magically-focused vocation you're going to want to level Sorcerer for 100 levels for maximum magick attack gains but your health, defense, and stamina gains will all be comparatively abysmal so you'll be at something of a disadvantage should you try a melee vocation at some point, so if you want flexibility at least level Sorcerer for like 50 and swap to something like MA for defensive growths. Or you can just play the game normally and have fun. Stat Growths are of course a thing you could have simply looked up on the wiki though so I guess this doesn't really help right? This comment kinda rubbed me the wrong way. As someone who admits they're new you're assuming a guide that covers the finer details about skills (the actually important stuff) just isn't helpful because you can always look at a brief summary that doesn't cover the whole picture (and is sometimes actually inaccurate.) I'm here to cover the how and why. I try to explain the function and purpose of what each vocation has to offer. Try not to worry about the numbers so much.
Assassin married Ranger = Strider Strider married Mage or Scocerer = Magick Archer ❤. Magick Archer is the best all in one vocations in Dragon Dogma Dark Arisen ❤
I have a question, should I build other classes before taking on this one? Like is there a proper path to stats for this? Or just choose it and level up
So normally I'd say don't worry too much but MA is notoriously bad to level stats with so I'd say do a bit of Sorcerer for some levels to at least get your magic up and then go for it
if you can help me, I don't know if the translation will be so clear, next, I'm trying to refine a weapon, but an item appears like a salt shaker with a question mark, there's no way to know which item I need to refine my weapon, could you help me decipher which item the refining system is requiring, a type of container appears with a question mark
Help me brothers im new and a magick archer right now and i was a max lvl sorcerer and my daggers do no damage how do i up my damage with my daggers and my arrows too?
Assassin provides the highest physical attack gains per level. Outside of that, look for equipment like the golden belt, baleful nails, and dragon headband that increase physical damage.
Immolation... I don't care what game it is. You are pouring gas on yourself and lighting up then proceeding to hug the nearest asshat that needs to burn. If that ain't terrifying I dunno what is.
Just going straight magick archer will work However if you want to *meta* the magick archer it would be 606 Strength 605 Magick 1-10 mage 11-97 assassin 98-200 sorcerer
@@ThiefofCrystals didn't even realise until now you use it across multiple vids! 10/10 for the content and music choices. 11/10 for the nostalgia trip. Arrogance was always beast!

So he's just across from Gran Soren's inn, when stepping out of the building look directly to your right and you'll see a bearded man standing behind a stall, that's the one@@AlexanderCarson1
So is it safe to assume I can start my Magic Archer character as Strider and then become Magic Archer once I get to level ten? If not, then is it fighter or mage?
I wouldn't worry too much about that tbh, unless you decide to dump like 100+ levels into a single vocation your stat spread will likely end up being relatively balanced. If you do really wanna focus stats, I'd say start as Mage since MA relies heavily on magick damage specifically - that said, be warned that unless you're a veteran chances are high that you're putting yourself at a significant disadvantage by starting out as Mage specifically. This won't mean anything in the long run, but you will likely be in for more of a struggle overall, so just bear that in mind.

Anyway, I'll drop the numbers here:
(If I don't note a slider, assume it's set to default in the middle)
- HEAD -
HAIRSTYLE - 01
FACE SHAPE - 39
EYES - 04 (Sliders - Spacing: slightly narrow, Size: slightly large)
BROWS - 33 (Sliders - Vertical Position: slightly down)
NOSE - 04
MOUTH - 27
EARS - 05 (Sliders - Position: slightly forward)
- BODY -
HEIGHT: Just one adjustment from the center towards short
WEIGHT: Slightly slim
MUSCULATURE: Slightly skinny
TORSO - 10
ARMS - 02
LEGS - 07
STANCE - (Posture: slightly imposing, Stance: slightly ladylike)
- FEATURES -
SCARS - 01
WRINKLES: Fully shallow
FACIAL HAIR: 29
MAKEUP: 02
- COLORS -
HAIR: Brown (Top row, second from the left) (Facial hair is the same, eyebrows are darker - top row, dead in the middle)
SKIN: Light (Top row, second from the right)
MAKEUP: Deep grey/black (Top right corner)
EYES: Reddish amber (5th row down, far left)
(Incidentally, Voice: Type 1)
Of course, adjust as you like. Now you too can create your very own Theefy! ❤
Amazing! You, ser, are a scholar and a gentleman! I'm trying to do one last run before DD2 and wanted to make it a completionist but just realised I missed a load of early missable quests so will have to start over and you Theefy have just given me the extra motivation I need! Now it's not going to be a slog because I get to use your outstanding Arisen instead of the slight borked goofy guy I always end up with lmao! If I had a hat, I would tip it for you! Thanks! @@ThiefofCrystals
@@Silkensmum Very glad to be of service! And best of luck on your adventures - both here, and in DD2!
my favorite vocation in the game next to assassin so fun!
Thanks Theefy, you look great too!
im late to the party here but did you use the Aeon theme from Wrath of the Righteous for the outro? i absolutely love that game and that track!
That I did
The graphic looks better then Starfield and Skull and Bones. That say something!
I'm playing DDDA on my Switch Lite since bought it's several days ago from Eshop, only $4.99 but the value is top notch. I hooked with this game. It's graphics, animation & performance also very good on Nintendo Switch ❤
Three old 80s dungeons and dragons cartoon had an archer with a magic bow that fitted magic arrows
2:30 was song is that
Also very helpful video ❤
Yeah, I found myself watching all these videos just for your voice. Easily.
😉
When someone said magik archer is basically just a Quincy from bleach I was sold
0:35 a magic archer is clearly a card in clash Royale he harhar ha ha
Anybody know the song that played during the Dagger section of the video?
What's the song during the Ace Combat bit? I really want to listen to the whole thing

@@ThiefofCrystals Ayy, thanks
Assassin married Ranger = Strider
Strider married Mage or Scocerer = Magick Archer ❤. Magick Archer is the best all in one vocations in Dragon Dogma Dark Arisen ❤
My Magickal Gleam does dmg to living targets, unless its a glitch or someone. I have the base game and no updates if there is any.
Hopefully we get to go to the mainland and also have more classes like alchemist
Magick archer turns BBI into baby mode.
You were the fist only guy?
That's me!
I have a question, should I build other classes before taking on this one? Like is there a proper path to stats for this? Or just choose it and level up
So normally I'd say don't worry too much but MA is notoriously bad to level stats with so I'd say do a bit of Sorcerer for some levels to at least get your magic up and then go for it
You do have a great voice great sir
That means the explosive rivets can be activated by immolation correct?
I like how the weapon, Magian Crutch, implies that the Magick Archer is a failed mage/sorcerer.
That's actually pretty funny! I like the idea that MA dropped out of magic school and said "fuck it, I'm doing my own thing"
I'm glad so many people like Dragon's Dogma. Let's all wait for Dragon's Dogma 2. (Google Translate)
Flame-on works with conqueror's periapt??? Theefy, if I don't break my ribs from laughing too hard, I always learn something new.
if you can help me, I don't know if the translation will be so clear, next, I'm trying to refine a weapon, but an item appears like a salt shaker with a question mark, there's no way to know which item I need to refine my weapon, could you help me decipher which item the refining system is requiring, a type of container appears with a question mark
Which weapon is it?
Help me brothers im new and a magick archer right now and i was a max lvl sorcerer and my daggers do no damage
how do i up my damage with my daggers and my arrows too?
Assassin provides the highest physical attack gains per level. Outside of that, look for equipment like the golden belt, baleful nails, and dragon headband that increase physical damage.
@@ThiefofCrystals OMG crystals thank you i love all your vid imma start on assassin now and look for thos items cant wait to see the new stuff the DD2
Eventually thief stopped thinking
11:32 Hey??? Shut up.😂
;)
immolation’s perfect use is when you’re actually mad at an enemy and want them to suffer even if it costs you everything 😮💨🔥
Sounds like a well rounded character. I’m curious, can he still climb ogres or does he lose this skill?
They can still climb monsters - all vocations can!
Magical gleam seal had me dead 8:11
Immolation... I don't care what game it is. You are pouring gas on yourself and lighting up then proceeding to hug the nearest asshat that needs to burn. If that ain't terrifying I dunno what is.
Do you focus on strength or magicka for this class?
Just going straight magick archer will work
However if you want to *meta* the magick archer it would be
606 Strength 605 Magick
1-10 mage
11-97 assassin
98-200 sorcerer
@@raumlu thx
I appreciate the Chaos Legion OST ❤
Hell yea, the OST slaps 👏
@@ThiefofCrystals didn't even realise until now you use it across multiple vids! 10/10 for the content and music choices. 11/10 for the nostalgia trip. Arrogance was always beast!
I was not expecting the music from Lethal League 😳
Magick Archer is an innately Anti-Ninja class, as Immolation proves. After all, Ninjas can't catch you if you're on fire.
this video was great
your great
i love you
happy new year
Theefy still waiting for the assassin guide
Working on it as we speak!
@@ThiefofCrystals awesome! cant wait
I have absolutely no ideas where to get a magic bow? I just started the game, how this game never hit my radar is insane, I’m lvl 12 and loving it so far, but I still can’t find a magic bow!!!!
If you're really struggling to nab one you can simply buy one from Caxton in Gran Soren, this applies to all weapons for all vocations
@@ThiefofCrystals I read that somewhere, now I’m on the journey to find him lol having very little to no luck in that venture 😂
So he's just across from Gran Soren's inn, when stepping out of the building look directly to your right and you'll see a bearded man standing behind a stall, that's the one@@AlexanderCarson1
BEST Job in Dragon's Dogma, simple as that 8D
Shadowshackle creates a shidgle
@@ThiefofCrystals Roger roger, you thieving bastard. And I am looking forward to your next video, so I hope you're working yourself to the bone!
And I am pretty new to it. I only recently got used to the route to Duskmoon Tower in Bitterblack Isle for that ring and other equipment.
