Thank you Hank. It is one of those pieces I’ve had under the lathe drying out and warped and looking at me for quite some time - it was time and I used it 😁😁😁👍
Beautiful piece! You work wonders with bog oak. And thanks for the laughs...between your "fabulous hole" and "polishing your rod," I had quite the giggle.
Like tales of the unexpected, you never quite know where it’s going …. But when it hits it’s like it’s the most obvious of answers and it all makes perfect sense 🤔 Excellent piece as always 👏🏻
Looks awesome M8 It’s the vision you have from from the start with a “lump of wood” to the completed work of art that makes all your pieces. Rotating the finished piece really does complete the package.
Thanks you Mr T! It’s often a work in progress, the idea is there at the start, but can change slightly or dramatically, depending on what happens! 🫣🤣👍 I popped in the shop the other day, but alas you were nowhere to be seen 😔
I always watch your videos before bedtime so maybe I'm not at my sharpest but I never have any idea what you're doing until you reveal the finished result. It's always a privilege to be able to see your work though Dick - a wonderful sculpture and a really great, well constructed video too. Thanks for all your hard work.
I do have a bowl video coming up, but it’s a short one and it is a Ziricote glue-up, so just close your eyes when you watch that one and only occasionally peek 🫣 🤣🤣😁👍
Another save by your abstract visualization. Pulled it off by the skin of the tips of your turning tools, 🤣🤣🤣😵💫😵💫😵💫 A Beautiful creation Dick👍👍👍.Thank you for sharing. Be safe🇨🇦
Hazzar, my Canadian friend! Believe it or not, I particularly look forward to your comments and I don’t think you left one on my last video. Maybe you just haven’t got round to watching it yet 🤣🤣🤣 🇬🇧
I love watching the evolution of your ideas throughout your video(s) and the amazing results you achieve. I mean it as a great compliment, but it all seems a bit of a wacky journey you take us on - your affinity with the wood, your creativity and vision - it is unique ... and very enjoyable! Thank you, Sir!
Thank you so much David. If you could see the pre edited footage, you’d think me completely insane! There’s content in there sometimes that can’t even be reserved for an outtakes video 😁😁 Hopefully lots of future content for you to enjoy coming monthlyish (don’t want to overwhelm you 🤣)
Hi Richard. Love it. You have an amazing imagination in creating such beautiful artistic pieces. I could not even guess what you had in store for us to watch. You keep teasing me with the bog oak. It’s unreal how you can make a beautiful natural piece of wood into a something even better. Thanks for sharing. Cheers 🇦🇺
Hey John! Me, tease you!? NO! Never! 🤣🤣🤣 Next three vids: purple heart wall hanging, pink ivory sculptural piece, that’s gonna be huge! and Ziricote bowl glue-up. Not sure what order yet 😁😁😁👍
Excellent vision for a piece of cracked and twisted old bog oak. I was completely confused as to what you were doing until the end when you rotated it. Then...ta-da! The masterpiece revealed itself.
Wow! I am constantly amazed at the beauty of bog oak. It is truly beautiful with the sanding and finishing completed. Then there is your creativity that you have applied to the raw wood. Your twist on how to manipulate and shape the wood into these artistic, structural designs is far beyond my comprehension. Yet as I watch your process I’m thinking “Oh, sure, that will work.” Well done my friend. Well done.
Doug, that’s one hell of a review! Thank you for taking the time to watch sir and I hear by challenge you do something along these lines on your channel 😁😁👍
@@gemofthewoods5802 doesn’t have to be bog oak, just an interesting piece of wood, worthy of doing something fancy with. 😁😁😁 go check his channel out Gale 🤗🤗🤗
Hi, found you via Mike Holton. Watching him turn a Bog Oak bowl, which looked fantastic. But your work is on another level, I couldn’t see what you were visualising at all. Keep up the good work. Very entertaining.
Thank you John, t’was a fun one. Just reminded me I need to make a box for this one in order to take it to a show 👍 Not that keen on the gilding myself tbh, but customers seem to love it 😻
