You and Donna enjoy your wee break ...it is so very well deserved!🤗
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I really appreciate your kind words. It is so important to appreciate the simple things. Hope you have a lovely week ahead too ❤️
Happy Sunday! Please see the video description box for all links to my latest 'favourite things.' As I say in the video, I'll be taking this coming week off from posting videos, but I'll be back again for the Comfort Book Club discussion on 23rd Feb. Until then, take care! Miranda x
It’s a while since I visited the Mouseman museum and shop, so it may have changed, but I remember the romantic little garden in front of it which had white standard pompon roses underplanted with lavender. There was also a little mouse carved on the wooden gate into the garden. From the back of the cafe the huge white horse carved into the hillside used to be visible. If you go back it may be worth asking about it. One of my particularly favourite things has been velvet wristee gloves and a snood from Anna Falke in the most gorgeous aubergine colour. It’s well worth having a look at her website. I enjoy your videos and really look forward to them. You’ve given me the impetus to read the Nonsuch again after many years, which has led to several other Georgette Heyer books. Many thanks.
Oh, I had such a nice chuckle about your favorite furniture polish. That really illustrates the fact of taking joy in the little things in life! Mouseman items have been a favorite of mine as well. So whimsical. Have a lovely time with your guests. 🌸
Glad to find another mouseman fan! It was so special to see the village and workshop. I'm looking forward to going back later in the year. Hope you have a lovely week ahead too! xxx
You are absolutely right about cleaning products having a scent that makes you happy! If you have to clean, it might as well bring you joy. All of our simple tasks are an opportunity to bring beauty. I love your Favorite Things series!❤️
I forgot to mention that I had a good giggle about the "middle aged" furniture polish. It reminded me of a conversation I had a decade (or so) ago with a friend when we both admitted to loving the Swiffer Duster. One really has to find the small pleasures that make cleaning a good (and possibly Zen) experience.
Thank you so much Miranda for your lovely channel. Waiting for new uploads has become something to look forward to every week. Enjoy your time off and look forward to catching up with you again when you are back.❤
Oh Miranda, what a wonderful video again!!! Such a great combination of sweet plans, books and ideas! I'm very fond of red lipstick 💄 and your recommendations about them were the ice of the cake of a marvellous vlog!!! I wish you and Donna a happy week!
I just finished Winter Soltice! and I loved it. I read it quickly it was a real page turner. Thanks for all your news. I love it all. Enjoy your break! We will miss you! Best to your mum. Hugs . . . Mary Ann

Super impressed your Dad is knowledgable about Persuasion- how lovely to be able to share that together, even across the pond. Lovely video and again, helps put me into a better frame of mind ready to tackle the school run and work in the morning xx
Hello Miranda; Happy Monday! This video made me smile so much because it shows that aside from books, so many little things in our everyday lives - like good furniture polish, a wooden book trough with the cutest mouse ever, and the kettle with the fabulous chickens parading around - can bring so much joy. As for me, I am enjoying inking up and writing with my Kaweco fountain pens - they are a favourite. Have a good break - I am looking forward to the CBC Nonesuch discussion. Every good wish, Jason
Oooh I spotted ylang ylang in that candle. I looooove ylang ylang. Anything that makes dusting really good fun is a definite favourite. I discovered a kitchen cleaner that smalls of my favourite Italian soap, game changer. Yorkshire Tea for the win. That book trough is fab. 🐭 Have a lovely break.
Hi Miranda. Loving the book trough! How sweet with the mouse carving too. All your new treasures looked amazing, and you have given me some ideas for upcoming birthdays. Hello to your lovely mum too. Thanks for sharing.
Dear Miranda, thank you for taking the time to share your loves with us all. It’s such a treat to see what’s been making you happy. I too loved the persuasion podcast, and I’m sooooo glad you were able to get the exquisite book trough, what a treasure. Enjoy your time off and see you soon .
Here's a little chuckle for you. I did indeed order Celebrating Charlotte after seeing it in your video. Today I received an email from the museum shop saying they had had a run on the book and this was causing a bit of a delay in shipping copies out. Now I wonder what may have caused that 😉 I also ordered that beautiful cookbook. Another lovely video, thank you, and all the best to you and Donna.
I recently shared your channel with my daughter who is a sincere Anglophile. I returned home (Texas) from my holiday today and this was waiting for me in a lovely bag. Thank you for sharing your favorite things!!! I just realized that I can’t share a photo but it’s the Emma Bridgewater mug with the hearts….❤
I SO understand you with the furniture polish! LOL I'm the same; it's so much more enjoyable to clean or polish when the scents are lovely. It actually makes you want to clean more! LOL Anyway, another lovely vlog (your channel is one of MY favorite things in the last little while ), so thank you again and I hope you and your mom have a lovely week!
Hello Miranda, thank you for sharing your favourite things. I’ve always loved the beautiful, timeless craftsmanship of Robert Thompson. I discovered Burts Bees pigmented lip balms at Christmas, when I got a trio in Rhubarb, Peony & Fig. They are rich in antioxidant oils and have a refreshing peppermint taste. Perfect for dry winter lips. Enjoy your break and I look forward to joining you for the Comfort Book Club.
Hello Miranda, thank you so much for sharing some of your favorite thing. I have never read Summer Solstice and I already put it in my calendar to read it in December. It was a lovely gift from your mom. Have a good week off, I hope you get to do lots of things that you enjoy.
Thank you for a lovely and inspiring video. So many lovely things, so good for the soul. Have a wonderful time with your visitors, keeping up friendships is so important. Bless you a d your Mum. 😘
Oh Miranda I love the afternoon tea writing/stationary set! It's so you! Lol! The set of cards by Racheal Grant is also delightful I will check out her etsy shop! X
I love Rosmund Pilcher's books, too. The first I read was The Shell Seekers with an older woman and dysfunctional families. On a trip to England, I went to Cornwall to visit Saint Ives because of her book. Fell in love with that area.
Thank you so much for your kind support, Judith, and I'm so glad you're a Rosamunde Pilcher fan too! I read the Shell Seekers when I first visited Cornwall, and it made me fall in love with the area even more too! 💙
Hello Miranda, thank you for sharing your favourites and what a delight it must have been to get a signed Rosamunde Pilcher - Winter Solstice is my favourite too. I suffer very badly from dry lips in the winter and at the moment I am having some success using the Aurelia lip balm in the morning and evening. Thank you very much for the Sisley recommendation as I like to have lip balms in every pocket of my coats and handbags during the winter! Have a wonderful break and see you soon, Teresa 💄♥
Dear Miranda, it is so kind of you to always recommend small businesses to your followers. I already wanted to buy stationery from suselandco when you recommended them in one of your Christmas vlogs, but unfortunately they don't ship outside the UK. Maybe I can visit Yorkshire this year and try to find them, because their stationery is extra beautiful. I wish you a very happy week off and a lot of fun with your guests! Thank you for your lovely vlogs! I'm almost finished with the Nonesuch and I'm so looking forward to the Comfort bookclub discussion! ❤
Dear Miranda thank you for another delightful vlog! I truly adored the Emma Bridgewater kettle, what a lovely present for your dear mum! Rosamunde Pilcher is one of my favourite authors and Winter Solstice is such a relaxing and comforting winter read, I do love this book and I imagine having a signed copy will make it even more special to you. Thank you for the podcast recommendation, Persuasion is a great novel which always surprises me with new interesting elements whenever I reread it. Enjoy your week off, I will be looking forward to your next vlog!
Ohh I did enjoy this video! I stopped at every item and went looking for it! I will be getting the furniture polish and I also found a whole range of their products I’m going to get. I found them on Amazon in the US. I loved the carved mouse on your table top book shelf., oh my goodness, it’s charming! Your books were beautiful in the shelf. Beautiful video, you looked lovely and your Mother gave you a real treasure with the signed copy of Winter Solstice! Oh my goodness! What a lovely Mother you have! Have a wonderful, fun filled break and I can’t wait for your next video. ❤️🇺🇸🇬🇧
❤️❤️❤️ Thank you Miranda for another lovely video! Your recommendations are always such a delight, and so appreciated. Today's recommendations are so nice that it is difficult to decide upon a favorite! "Winter Solstice" by Rosamund Pilcher has long been a favorite for me as well. To have such a lovely, signed copy by the author is indeed a rare and exceptional treat! To have received it from your dear mother makes it all the more special, knowing that it was found, purchased, and gifted to you with such a heart bursting with love makes it a treasure!!!
So glad you enjoyed these 'favourite things'! I was so thrilled to get such a special copy of a favourite book - my Mum always thinks of the best gifts! ❤️
@@MirandaMills …as you do with her!! You both delight in giving each other special gifts, and are so thrilled to receive such special gifts from each other!! You have such a lovely mother/daughter relationship; you are so lucky to have each other and to share the same interests.❤❤
What is life without a little luxury? As you demonstrate, luxury needn't be wildly extravagant. It can be a delicious cup of tea or a beautiful candle. I am with you on scents. I like my house clean and beautifully scented. I am definitely trying the Method wood polish. Wishing you and Donna a fabulous - and luxurious - Galentine's Day ❤️
I am really enjoying these favourite things videos, Miranda. I was surprised to see the Mouseman book trough is in the same design as the one made by my father in law back in the 50s. I love mine and treasure it. See you back in a week or so. Have a lovely break. Much love xx
Miranda, you are so lucky that you got a signed copy of Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher. That is my absolute favorite winter book that I read every January to get me out of the winter doldrums. Your videos are so wonderful! Thanks so much.
Once again some lovely recommendations. I too am always looking for a nice red lipstick, not too scarlet so I shall definitely look these up. In your Thursday vlog you mentioned Miss Buncle's book, last night I picked it from the shelf and finished reading at lunchtime - oh how I love this book. The scenes where she goes and buys a hat and one or two more items for her new wardrobe and lunch with Mr Abbott! Needless to say I am just about to start Miss Buncle married! Have a great week.
A lovely collection of favourite things. It's always good to get pleasure from everyday things and I like Method cleaning products too, though I haven't tried the wood polish. I love the kettle you bought for your mum. I'm getting more and more tempted by the Skye McAlpine cook book even though I keep telling myself I really don't need any more cooking or baking books. The tisane sounds delicious and as I don't drink anything with caffeine in it will be a lovely one for me to add to all the herbal infusions that I enjoy. Have a happy week off with your visitors, take care.
I can very much relate to being excited about cleaning products. I recently purchased a peony-scented counter spray and my heart and mind are now totally on spring 🌸🌷
I make my own wood polish by combining vinegar, olive oil and a favorite essential oil or some lemon juice . It works wonders for the wood and smells heavenly 😊
Hi Miranda, what a great vlog! Really loved this one. You were lucky to get the signed edition of that book. Loved the little book trough with the mouse on it,so sweet. Hope you have a lovely week off. Take care.x
Thanks for this delightful favourite things video. It’s always nice to see you, and listen to your book choices, outdoor activities, baking and all. It’s also a wonderful way to relax, and concentrate on nice things. Hope you week is lovely!
Thank you Miranda for another lovely vlog. Had to have a chuckle at the furniture polish, it’s the small things in life that can give us joy. Also helps making a not so favourite task more enjoyable. Enjoy your time off.
Thank you so much for your wonderful support, Alexandra! I'm really grateful, and yes, it's amazing how much pleasure some nice smelling furniture polish can add to the day! It's the little things that count! Hope you have a lovely week too ❤️
Loved your favourites! Absolutely adore the book trough 😍 I collect mouse themed items and have always wanted a Mouseman piece. How lovely to have a signed edition of Winter Solstice (one of my all time favourite books ❤). I also love Method products 😀 Have a great week.
Hello Miranda, I love seeing your favourite things and the pleasure they bring you. I laughed when you described the Method polish as a “middle aged thing”, and agree that a nice scent helps to “romance the everyday” and make tasks more enjoyable. I will listen to the podcast for Persuasion, and also adore the kettle, the book trough and the spring note cards. Happy Sunday to you.
The more I see that edition of Persuasion, the more I want to get a copy for myself! Also, if you ever visit Edinburgh I would recommend you drop in for tea at Eteaket tea room and check out their Big Red Rooibos blend. It is delicious, and no caffeine! They also do mail order.
thank you, that was fun, I entered for the copy of Persuasion. I am taking this weekend off; my birthday is Friday. I hope to spend the day book shopping, 📙😊
I really love the oak book trough with the carved mouse - very special indeed. Those Sisley lip balms look glorious, like beautiful, soft crayons! What lovely thoughtful gifts you and your Mum have given each other; your home seems to be a haven of civilised living! Have a great week, Miranda.
I love your book trough, though I had never before heard the term. I think I first saw one of these when I visited my one-time supervisor who lived in a tiny tiny worker's cottage in the beautiful Derbyshire town of Belper. There is no hall and you enter the front room which must be 10ft by 10 ft, with a sideboard along the wall by the door, and on that there was a book trough holding library books ready to read and then return. I loved that idea, and eventually found a second hand book trough in one of the charity shops near me. I realise that I now need to find or clear a decent surface to make use of it - and I'll keep on it those books I intend to read next, which are currently just lumped on my coffee table...
Have a great break Miranda !! Always need one ! Really enjoy your video and interested listening to the podcast about persuasion ! Love the story of it! Have a great Sunday ! It’s Monday here in Australia ! ❤😊I was looking up in our time on bbc sounds they have the tenant of wild fell hall pod cast to.
I love seeing your favorite things. The book trough is beautiful. I think I may have seen him featured on an episode of Escape to the country. My brother made me an oak book trough in an arts and craft style. He has also built two of my most favorite bookcases. The kettle is beautiful as well. Thank you for sharing. Also your dress is very pretty. Anyways, my best wishes to you and your mother. See you next time. Happy Valentines day. 🤗❣️❣️
Wonderful video. I love method cleaning products! They are environmentally friendly and cruelty free and work wonderfully. I'll have to try out the wood polish!

Thanks so much, Debbie! Hope you enjoy the podcast episode as much as I did! Definitely a good thing to listen to whilst dusting 😂

I love your favourite things vlogs Miranda. Thank you for sharing. I’m eyeing up the tea as I need to drink less caffeinated tea.
The more I see that edition of Persuasion, the more I want to get a copy for myself! Also, if you ever visit Edinburgh I would recommend you drop in for tea at Eteaket tea room and check out their Big Red Rooibos blend. It is delicious, and no caffeine! They also do mail order.
I use Method hard wood floor cleaner, which also smells like almond. I love it, and can easily pick it up in my local grocery store in NY.
Such a pretty collection..love Rosamunde Pilcher🌻🌺🦋
Beautiful things, thanks for sharing
❤❤❤lové red lipstick as well
thank you, that was fun, I entered for the copy of Persuasion. I am taking this weekend off; my birthday is Friday. I hope to spend the day book shopping, 📙😊

What a wonderful selection - I will definitely check the links. Have a lovely break x
Another lovely video , watching it whilst visiting friends in London. Off to visit one of my favourite places , the V&A . Happy Sunday
The book trough is really gorgeous Miranda .
I just love it!! ❤️ 😍
Looking forward to seeing you next time! Take care! 🥰🇨🇦
Thank you, Diane! How wonderful that your brother made you such beautiful things! xxx
@@MirandaMills He is a pretty cool dude. Tho, he teases me relentlessly. 🤣 He's a brother, he thinks it's his job. 😊
Method is a wonderful brand. The scents are natural and do not smell like chemicals as most mainstream brands do💐💖🥰
Wonderful video! I especially loved the book trough - it looks so well made, and the mouse is so sweet.
Love you, Miranda! Thanks a lot for your videos ❤
Wonderful video. I love method cleaning products! They are environmentally friendly and cruelty free and work wonderfully. I'll have to try out the wood polish!
