This is a great medic impression and helped my with my own medic impression. Maybe you can do a video of what a d day medic would have. Some things you could fix but it really doesn’t matter is medics would have carried two canteens and I personally wouldn’t carry original bandages.
@HistoryRe-enacted yeah and with the two canteens I got two now. They were on the way during time of shipping. I am glad I helped and I will look into making a d day video explaining everything!
some nice gear in the early 2000s i used to reenact the ss with all mostly all original stuff me and my brothers when we were young bought it in the 70s-80s.
@@thenerd1502 yep just about that time ww2 vets started passing and their kids would sell it at yard sales and anywhere they could I’d buy it when I had the chance
Looks nice! I honestly recommend making your own custom medical items (Bandages, carlile dressings, Sulfa, etc) So you don't accidentally rip or ruin your authentic ones. Always nice to fill them with cheap modern gauze rolls or to make your own dressings, that way you can have a whole kit made without breaking the bank! Also don't forget your medical brassard! Good luck on your event! If you possibly can, try and find a 2nd canteen too, as its documented many medics had extra water for treating the wounded
I found another canteen because I do know they had two. But I can't find a canteen pouch for it lol. Thank you for the tip about making my own medical equipment I will definitely be doing that.
This was cool man, ya I wouldn’t want to bunk with anyone else either, I think the tin medical pouch is a “Carlisle bandage “, you could pack some potatoes man, this basically reminds me of myself planning out a camping trip lol, fried taters and corn beef, or spam, I like spam and potato soup, dice it up man, “you stole the potatoes from a French farm” 😉
Thanks for your comment. Thats a good idea to bring potatoes. I completely forgot. i can say i stole it from a french farm, lol. I will bring some potatoes and carrots. Thanks for the idea and also for letting me know about the carlisle bandage.
Also, that gasmask is not correct for any WW2 Impression. What you might be looking for (I say because it looks similar) is the M6 “Army Lightweight service mask” bag.
@wannabeb.a.r.man.8859 I know that. It's just resembles the m9 gas mask I am trying tk buy one of the masks you said of a friend of mine but that's difficult.
those Brass disk go on your class A jacket not the wool shirt, depending on unit you wouldn't be wearing a tie either in the field. just remember this is a hobby everyone started off some how and your kit will get better as you grow in the hobby add a 2nd canteen as a medic , carry extra smokes, gas mask bag was used more as a carry all worn on the side as they threw away the gas mask
@2104dogface I know about the canteen and the gas mask. It's been on my list of things to pick up another canteen. Thanks for the tips though it is greatly appreciated.
@@thenerd1502 Personally, I do all my own helmets, I found orig helmets and liners at shows and ebay. You were right about the collar discs. They didn't wear all the brass and stuff during combat.
