  • Staking dahlias can be a little tricky and sometimes overwhelming. Especially if you don't want to girdle or hurt your plants. On today's video, we'll show you how we individually stake our dahlias and also how we built a trellis to support and help keep our flowers standing strong. Also, we show you some supplies we're using and that you can use, too.
Definitely leave any comments or questions below for us, and thank you for watching. 😃👍

Hi guys! Wow your garden beds are looking full and georgous! Thanks for this video its right on time! I was feeling like the stakes I had on hand were too big and bulky. But after seeing this video, I think they will work just fine. I always think my flowers are so delicate, why would I want a big frumpy stake. But it's so needed. Have great day. Xoxo Dana from Pa

With your last staking technique at 15 min, mine flopped sideways. I am tempted to stake each plant individually because the jute twine was too weak and I didn’t stake them enough

Hi, I love your dahlia plants and I’m learning how to stake mine. I’ve been having problems. I’m currently using bamboo stakes but the problem I have are that I’m unable to put the stake deep into the dirt. I have rocky soil that prevents the stakes to go in deeper. All my tall plants have fallen over despite the stakes. We had a windy couple days a couple weeks ago. Any suggestions?

dig a bit of a hole where you want to put the bamboo pole then pour water (a lot) into the hole. Leave for a bit to soften the soil 3-4 mins, then mallet in your bamboo - works for me

What should one do with a dahlia plant that has fallen to a big windstorm? Everything I search just says "to prevent wind damage, use stakes" which is great and all but theres no info about salvaging potted dahlias post storm. Any info would be appreciated
