    Your comment about 'gotta be on the bike to get traction' is spot on. I do end up off and pushing when brute force is my last resort, but a foot on the peg, heel down, really does get that rear wheel to bite.

      Riding is supposed to be fun, if you're not having fun, then there's not much point in riding. Virtually every time I crash etc. I'm laughing - the only exceptions being when I've broken something or otherwise done some significant damage (usually to myself, sometimes to the bike). With that said, I can see that when your energy is very low that you'll have less patience with things. It seems maybe he was a little over his head on this ride. Some improvement in riding techniques would use less energy and he'd probably be enjoying himself more.

    Cool Vid again, well done. Wishing I could have been there to ride with you guys. I had a place in Chandler AZ for several years and never managed to get one of my dirt bikes down there to ride some of the epic terrain. I was watching you guys trying to cross that log at 12:30 and if I may a tip: you can never lean back or get your weight back far enough. Very few riders have ever crossed a log like that and gone over backwards. Every time you guys blipped over that log, you may have thought you had enough weight back over the rear but in reality you were nowhere near far enough back. I spent some time up here in Log Land BC with Chris Birch and that was his biggest point to make. Ride up to the log, size it up, blip that front tire 3/4 of the way up for the hit, double blip the throttle (if you can) and get Waaaayyy back to ride that front high up and over the log. It is amazing how far back you need to be to save it. This was something I could "only" do when I was on my game and not thinking about it. It was not until Birch took a few moments to critique my technique in a controlled setting that I finally understood what I needed to do. I may have cheated a bit and practiced the technique on a trials bike to perfect it before getting it dialed on my Husky but the technique is the same, you just need to commit. Just my .02 and take it with a grain of salt as I'm not pro and have no right to coach others how to ride...
    Anyways, awesome video again and looked like another epic ride.

      @@EverySingleSunday I think he was talking about spots like 8:40 where you went off trail to get around a fallen tree. It's a good idea, at least for areas where I ride like McNutt, to carry a good hand saw to cut deadfall off the trail. This is the first vid I've seen of yours where there's a significant number of fallen trees.

    • @EverySingleSunday
      @EverySingleSunday  4 роки тому

    • @RickGreen_McNutt
      @RickGreen_McNutt 4 роки тому

      @@EverySingleSunday Yeah, I figured that most of your riding was in mostly treeless areas, so less likely to need to carry a hand saw. I know some riding areas, as a matter of practice, they just don't normally remove deadfall trees, leaving them as obstacles. At McNutt, and most of the surrounding areas, we're very quick to remove deadfall from the trails. Just different ways of doing things in different areas.

    Not sure what camera you are on, but I am streaming at 1080p and it gets pretty pixelated when you are going at a decent click. If you are on gopro it could just be one of the settings you have selected isn't able to keep up with you. I'm not dissing ya but figured you would want to know. Looks like a great spot it's too bad it looks bad. I watched a vid on here aout best settings and i do remember a couple were ones i would not have selected were recommended for movement.

    • @EverySingleSunday

      This should be nice and clear. Maybe check the video resolution you have selected. Turn off auto?

    • @throttlebuff
      @throttlebuff 4 роки тому

      @@EverySingleSunday i had settings at 1080p not auto. Have you watched it on UA-cam? I watched a video about filming and it had some information about the settings that were different than what i thought they should be for motion. I think its because the camera cannot keep up at speeds or it could be the conversion to youtube. You can tell how good it should be when you slow down or stop.

    • @throttlebuff
      @throttlebuff 4 роки тому

      I was watching this video but didn't realize it was yours and actually came here to send you the link to see if it was pixelated on your end because maybe it's my TV. You can see it from the beginning when you leave the parking lot.
