I can’t even imagine when he said he needed a sandwich; it was probably a five star meal for him.
I remember doing SAR and being in the 100 degree heat and eating some freeze dried beans. I rehydrated it and it was still the best meal I had ever eaten to this day.

400 miles on a dirtbike on the roughest terrain with a messed up neck. I barely even want to imagine that, yet you did it. The look on your face when you threw the towel in resonates. I know it sucked to stop, and admit defeat. But what you did in itself is an impressive feat. As for Tanner, he's just a beast. Hope you guys are still out having fun with your bikes! Love these movies! Nothing but respect for everyone who does those races!

Beast mode! Herniated disks are unbearable,, so seeing you ride like that is crazy. Huge respect!!!
My truck decided to fight a logging truck head on 4x4ing... it lost and I broke my neck. In result I have 2 discs that slip out without warning. Fart funny and I could be crippled on the couch. I find slipped discs are more painful than the brake. I could NEVER ride a bike when they are herniated let alone putting 100 miles of the ugliest riding in the world. Your determination is amazing. The way I see it your a winner all day in my book.
Great movies! ( all 4 of them )

wow that course is just destroyed by the trophy trucks, making it so much harder for the bikes. The ruts and big rocks and deep sand combined with steep hills, its just murder once you have no strength left in your body.600 miles is a huge achievement without any sleep, absolutely fantastic job.

Outstanding presentation Mr. Janesky!! This movie should have over a million views. Very riveting and well narrated. At 49 I race a 60 mile AZ AMRA race on a light 300 2T, and I feel like I need a body transplant when I’m done. You at 52 did 600 miles! That is amazing and inspirational. I can appreciate how heavy those CRF450X can be too, especially with a 4 gallon dez tank and lights. Congratulations to your son too👍💪

From a guy who’s ridden the Dakar, have gone through Europe and North America on an enduro bike and have done numerous races and Hare Scrambles, I have to say I could not do what you two have accomplished! I cringed seeing the Fesh-Fesh, rocks and wash outs! Been there, done that! Well done both of you! People who don’t ride just won’t understand the endurance it takes to go 600 miles in a day, let alone the entire distance in those conditions! Again, well done!

27hr ride is impressive with a tinge of lunacy. Spectators see these Ironman format races as a race against others, but those of us that have competed know they are a competition with ourselves. I tip my hat to your tenacity and ability to grind out new limits. You Sir have my utmost respect.

Incredible journey - I tip my hat to you both for taking on this Iron Man (hell, just being IN the Baja 1000 is an incredible test!!!). I have a soft spot for the Father and Son Team and the Baja. My Dad and I rode together for many years back in the day (I'm in my later 40's now). We would head into the mountains or the sands of California, always thinking about the Baja race and what it would be like to race in it. We modified our 85' Honda XR 600's for the long rides. In 1987' we were practicing somewhere near Kern Valley and my Dad overshot the turn too fast and didn't survive the crash. I sure miss him, and your story brings me back to some great memories of our time together. I realize now that while the bikes were such a big part of our time together, it was really always about just being with and spending time with my Dad. Being a Dad now myself, I understand how lucky I was to have had that time with such a great Father who taught me all the best parts of who I am today. Thank you Larry and Tanner for sharing your story. While the goal was to finish the race, for me, the real story is the bond and connection with a great Dad and his Son. 👍

When I was about 55 years old I decided it would be a good idea to race the 24 hour race at Starvation Ridge. It was cold and rained, a lot. Middle of the night I was so exhausted I was crashing more then I was riding. Watching Larry I was so compassionate of what he was going through.

I am of the opinion that everyone that starts a race beat everyone that can't be bothered. The world is full of rock chuckers mocking those that try. Larry and Tanner are the other end of the spectrum, the doers, the tryers, the battlers. I eff in love that attitude. Finishing any endurance event is winning in my book, especially when your an old fart like my mob.

It certainly takes an ironman to even enter and finish this race, but it takes even more of a man to know when enough is enough and admit to himself and others - kudos! Absolutely epic adventure and to share it with your son, priceless! Had me a little emotional to think of possibly sharing something similar with my boy in a few years. I loved Into the Dust 1 and this was just as great and I can’t wait for what’s next - wonderful video and everything brilliantly done. Would love to know a few specifics like what bike, tyre choice, do you run mousses, what’s the fuel consumption, how often do you change tyres? Etc. Again, thanks for sharing and huge respect to both you and Tanner

If you do a 3rd movie can you please discuss what was all done to your race bikes preparing them for the Baja? I’m assuming they aren’t bone stock.
