After that on the beach you could clearly see that he is the last person that will die with the curse. Doesn’t matter if Joshua body wasn’t there, that will be speculation on your part. @@DarkStarGaming065 Clive shouldn't survive. Clives story is the story that many men got to experience; dying alone with nobody to help them or comfort them. That is life. The song lyrics are always reminding me he probably didnt make it back despite all theories and breadcrumbs. But YoshiP is a sneaky one. There's two DLC's coming and a free update with alternative costumes teases us with some fan theories. On Clive's new cloak is a big symbol just like on the epilogue book cover, which was associated with the hideout after you became the leader, also the same symbol is on a rock near Cid's grave. And conveniently Clive's new armor on his left arm is silver-colored nearly up until his elbow - the same arm that started to petrify but we never saw it going further. They knew what they were doing. Give us the perfect ending you hid in your basement, Square.
while i get where you are coming from the "big symbol on the book which was associated with the hideout after you became the leader"... is simply the symbol of the curse breakers, the military arm of the hideout.. ya know.. the organisation Clive essentialy is the leader and figurehead for? They also already existed before you became cid.(whatever they used that symbol prior or not is unclear iirc, as i am fairly certain its meant to be a stylized representation of the "oath" clive and cid made by stabbing a crystal with twin daggers) like of everything THATS like the least likely part of it hinting at DLC content
Still think about this ending so much man. (SPOILERS) I think Clive actually survives the ending because of the final cutscene of the "Final Fantasy" book. Maybe I'm huffing copium but it makes sense.
It’s Joshua, the Phoenix, who survives. That’s the theory online anyways. Ultimas power was too much for Clive’s body for the few moments he possessed it, using it for one final attack to reach his dream. IMO don’t be upset with Clive’s death, he dies a complete hero to his brother, his lover, his companion and all of those that needed him to be the catalyst to change the future of the ENTIRE FF universe. The greatest victory for any man trying to protect the ones he loves and those they love, forevermore.
@@JJocu No way man, we literally saw Joshua die in our arms and see the gigantic crystal in the sky explode. Clive on the other hand just collapses on the beach and his arm becomes stone. If either of them lived, it would be Clive....

This song hits so hard for me given my scottish fold would sit next to me while i played this game and a day after i beat it he passed and on the ride from the vet this played via my youtube music......needless to say i pulled over and just cried.....
Miss you still little buddy ill see u again someday 💓 💗
God im so sorry for your loss. But keep your head up, you'll be reunited one day and he'll wag his tail at you once more. Trust. ❤
Scottish fold is a cat but yes, thank you for making me crying
I just finished yesterday and I keep crying like I lost a family member lol😂, this video represents perfectly the love from Jill and Clive that cannot be spend together due to Clive’s fate… well done for bringing all these pieces together and subscribed!
@@JaskuraLunaris just amazing isn’t it this ff! But why they would kill him!! Lol
@@lordmusicianTheories are that Clive isn't dead because how would he have written that book in the end
@@erxpz that was Joshua buddy, Clive died from the curse
@@lordmusician Joshua died he literally said that his body is too far gone. The flames of the Phoenix can heal but the spirit needs rest.Joshua pretty much said he was going to die. Clive got rid of the magic,so no magic means no aether and no curse. Plus he the only one who could of came up with the book name final fantasy because of his fight with Ultima he said this is your fantasy and we will be it's final witness, something like that, that alone is enough to prove Clive is alive. Joshua's body didn't wash up on the beach and the place got engulfed in flames and Joshua had no protection since he was already dead.Clive wrote the book we saw at the ending.
@@erxpz if we are going to quote what they say then , Joshua said that Because of him going to die and give the power to Clive… Clive after battling Ultima clearly you could see giving life to Joshua.. after that Clive used his last power to destroy the last Crystal which he clearly stated “even if brings the end of me …. After that on the beach you could clearly see that he is the last person that will die with the curse. Doesn’t matter if Joshua body wasn’t there, that will be speculation on your part.
Another hint was Jill looking at the sky and saw the star fading, which made her realise Clive died… even Gav quoted “that’s what cid wanted … that’s what both wanted “ this alone already confirms the death of Clive.. why Jill would be crying so hard and even Clive’s dog felt that, another thing you can’t ignore the signs ….Joshua was there in the final battle, he didn’t kill ultima, but witnessed most of the events before his death, when resurrected he could just figure it out that his brother killed the Ultima boss since there was no more powers for anyone
The world is yours now
Yours to do with as you wish
It’s what Cid wanted, it’s what they both wanted…..😢
Ffxiv songs are generally in a higher range, i was so impressed with Amandas performance and whew her low voice hits the spot
It's been almost a year since I beat FF XVI. I started a new save few days ago. Still not over the ending. XV and XVI endings made me cry. I love it when a game has a so GOOD story it makes you emotional. Fucking love this game and FF in general!
So fucking happy they used it for the ending. Everytime the theme was played in the story I was so hooked. A banger to end the game with
I don't know anything about this game but that song just gave me so much chills
God I fucking love this game
Same…😢
Just hearing the begining notes makes me want to cry while remembering that beach...dammit man.
Just hearing the first notes of the piano broke me to tears, what a powerful and beatiful song played on the perfect moment.
This game was an absolute beautiful and emotional experience. Hands down one of my favorite FF from now on
Truly beautiful song, it heals my soul listening to it.
Also very FFXIV-ish
Such a beautiful song for the ending of this game. Thanks for the upload 💖
I couldn't hold my tears at "a sky of scattered tears" with jill crying
Played the story twice now and i cried both times this games phenomenal
this game and this whole franchise has given us some great theme songs to ever exist on the face of this planet. Especially this game was phenomenal with theme songs , background musics and visuals to match them. After such a long time, I have got a role playing game that I can say I would be playing again and again even if decades pass by.
Incredible voice. Simply mesmerizing
Each time hearing this, my body shivers, my mind wanders and contemplate while tears unknowingly flows.
One of, if not THE best game I've ever played. What a journey. I honestly did not expect Clive to actually die at the end. It made the game 10x better though. But also 100x more depressing.
There’s lots of rumors Clive survived, but we won’t know until the DLC arrives
@@DarkStarGaming065 Clive shouldn't survive. Clives story is the story that many men got to experience; dying alone with nobody to help them or comfort them. That is life. Men get to die saving their loved ones and the rest get to watch from the distance.
10,000,000+ Clives died during WW1 and WW2 and nobody cries for them. They had their own Jills and Torgals to fight and die for, and nobody will ever remember them. Such is a Mans duty.
@@Sneedmeisterand why shouldn't he survive?
Because of war always being tragic?
I think their world has been tragic enough and I think Clive and Jill deserved a happy ending together.
I'd say they made the ending the way it is so we all can have our own way the game ended based on hints we picked up, because if you did all side quests there are plenty that hints to Clive surviving.
The ending being narrated by Clive and the book being written alone is a big hint.
@@pleasedontkillme1185 you're a child and don't understand why things even become tropes to begin with.
yes, the hero sacrificing his life for everyone elses future is a much more powerful narrative device than "everyone lives happily ever after"
@@SneedmeisterHey cmon don’t start name calling over a game
The song is Jill deepest feelings for Clive... her song for him
wow ive never had a song bring me to tears before. i havent even played the game, this song is just amazing. props.
I don't even play FF, this soundtrack is beyond perfect.
I mean, FF16 won the Best Sountrack award at the game awards last year.
I can see Jill writing this song dedicated to Clive after the events of ff16. 😢
"Forever, my treasure. My star" this song absolutely broke me.
This made me cry so much
I can't even listen to this song man. Every time I come back to it I break down. Fuck this game and fuck this song I love them so much
i wish i could forget this game and play it all over again and cry even harder
BEAUTIFUL song. Have played through the ending 3x now and it makes me cry each time 😢 FF16 is a FANTASTIC game and I honestly thought I wouldn’t connect with the characters and the story nearly as much as I have. Thank you, Square Enix.
Clive was a good person he did what was right through and through till his end😢
Didnt play this song and don't know the characters but im crying anyway. FF has a way of doing that to you for sure. Same happened with ff13-2, with yuel's theme
This is one of the few games to actually make me shed tears and partly because this song is so damn beautiful….GOTY material
Uma pena , não ter recebido o merecido respeito.
So unfortunate it didn't win GOTY. It was my GOTY. It's my game of my lifetime in all honesty. Still glad it at least won best OST though.
I wish i could listen to this song without crying 😭
This is what ive been waiting for!!! It reminded me so much of the kind of music hideo kojima put in metal gear and it felt so fitting. Also sounds like a bond theme too. Really shows how much that this game was more like a playable movie and I love it!
Reminds me of "can't say goodbye to yesterday"
my first FF and it broke my heart
Try FF 15, 10, or 7 next. They’re my favorites along with 16.
If you want a good love story like 16 did try 8 also!
listening to this from time to time to relieve the pain
Knowing the lyrics now, I cried more, not as much as I did when I first heard it in game, but I cried nonetheless, a lot of people might shit on this game for “NoT bEiNg FiNaL fAnTaSy” but this game is still one of the best experiences that I’ve EVER had in gaming.
4:02 oh man that end is beautiful
Ice and Flames cannot be Together. 😢
This song is on repeat at the hideout. Amazing, beautiful, perfection!
This music broke me with FF16 ending.
When those first few chords hit, my soul leaves my body a little bit.
Just finished the game, and man did this song hit! 🔥
I never played this game and this song had me tearing up on the trains in Japan.
You’ll be crying even more when you finish the game….😢

Can you see it too......jill
Emotional damage the song.
Give us the perfect ending you hid in your basement, Square.
while i get where you are coming from
the "big symbol on the book which was associated with the hideout after you became the leader"... is simply the symbol of the curse breakers, the military arm of the hideout.. ya know.. the organisation Clive essentialy is the leader and figurehead for? They also already existed before you became cid.(whatever they used that symbol prior or not is unclear iirc, as i am fairly certain its meant to be a stylized representation of the "oath" clive and cid made by stabbing a crystal with twin daggers)
like of everything THATS like the least likely part of it hinting at DLC content
This is such a romantic song! ❤
Still cant get over this game, been a while since i beat it but still like watching these videos
Still think about this ending so much man. (SPOILERS)
I think Clive actually survives the ending because of the final cutscene of the "Final Fantasy" book.
But Josh ended up writing that book, didn't he? It's been forever since I've played so I forgot if like, maybe that old guy ended up finishing it for him or something.@@kirkshanghai
@@kirkshanghaiWhen Clive got back and saw Joshua on the floor again, he used Joshua's Phoenix power to heal him. In the post-credits we can see that Joshua wrote the whole game's story himself, the survivor
