The guy from the movie "The Road" had the right idea by staying put at home and then once 99% of humans outside are gone, then, make the journey with a shopping cart chock full of supplies. (the one with the father & son making their way to the coast.) none of the "preppers" on youtube ever think to mention that except for this guy 👍👍 it's always "I'm gonna to into the woods with just a 90lb backpack" lol I went hiking in the CO mtns last month, in the heat with just a 20lb bag for 12 miles at a quick pace, and at the end of the day I was exhausted, and I run 3 miles very often. there are so many people out there who can't even climb up a hill without having to stop and catch their breath lol and thats without a backpack on!
I’m preparing to stay at home, I have been working at it for a while. I have a unique bunker and keep working on it. Your channel and others have been a great help ! Thanks !
Why run ,you can only take so much with you. A safe room , stock it well . I am a disabled veteran . I could make it in the woods, but why. I have everything i need here . Fight in place, dont run and store up n water
2005 Katrina is a good example of what to plan for the only building not robbed was a library .....I hope your idea works for you, but i think you give people to much credit that there calm and nice and not taking what you have.
Prepare to survive: Food, water, energy, heat and light. Now think about how to protect your preparations from those who would take it from you. If youhave guns when was the last time you took them to a range and brushed up on your skills? Have you even cleaned and maintained them in the last year? Is your spouse proficient and prepared? Are other members of your family trained and prepared? Have you looked for natural fortifications? What about your firewood stacks? What would be the logical direction for an attack? Remember these are not military tacticians so keep it simple.
Only reasons I can for see an evacuation (bug out) is fire, chemical spill. Civil unrest will not do well in my city, neighbor. I also store a lot of rice/beans (& a way to cook) for those who are not as well prepared. My bush craft skills is what I do for fun while camping (vacationing).
It all depends why you’re bugging out. For a long time ? A few weeks or so ? For instance in the Ferguson riots. Bugging out for a week or so would make sense. During Covid a lot of people bugged out buying RVs and working from remote locations. That would have been longer , months but many did it. If you have that RV or a cabin perhaps for many situations ( toxic gas , reactor failure , fire , natural disasters) it could be very wise So it all depends on the why you are doing ti.
I grew up in the sierra nevadas. In the last 30 years the population has exploded in the higher elevations. Guess what. There is no where to go. Work on and with your local area.
On average one farmer feeds 169 people that’s only because of they have modern farming equipment fertilizer transportation systems pesticides etc that’s the only reason people can live in cities. Any of that part the system breaks people will starve. How are you going to feed your entire subdivision? Even if there is multiple preppers in the neighborhood feed 100+ people with your supplies combines are only going last a few days. What are you gonna do after your supplies? What are you gonna eat your yard grass seriously! Your stockpile will run out, you will not be able to grow enough food to feed you, definitely won’t be enough. Food is scavenge forever.
Buy a woodstove for your house and store a bunch of food and water. You're not John Rambo, you cant fight the world while living inside a hollowed out tree.
If you live in a city in America, let me put it nicely: People will band together depending on what race they are. If you are not of that race you are an outsider. Being in the city is a death wish in a grid down scenario. Bugging out is indeed not the ideal strategy, it's the last resort. Stop discouraging bugging out, it is a necessary practice and skill.
@ZombieCSSTutorials alot also depends on age and ability to leave safely. I sure understand what your saying. Do you really think it would be safer out side with everything going on. I would say you have a tuff call. I feel fir what you are saying

I completely agree with you. I appreciate your channel because it’s practical.

You nailed it. History contradicts everything he is saying.

My question as well, where are people going to run?

Home sweet home
If can use the resources of that place in that event
Buy a woodstove for your house and store a bunch of food and water. You're not John Rambo, you cant fight the world while living inside a hollowed out tree.
But you will be fighting people after 2 weeks because that's how long the average person stores food and water in the house

@JonasRosenven
Those events last for a few days to a few weeks. Wait till it's been a few months to a few years.
I don’t even know how to respond to your ignorance other than say, you are giving bad advise clearly not based on experience.
Would fill a bag with knifes and rope and build makeshift shelters in the cold while your house sits empty be better advise?

Your only against it because it's unrealistic for you
very accurate statement ...
@@Ivarr.Bergmann.Alaska I'd have fairly good chances due to having wilderness survival skills and being in great shape
Do you two need to go somewhere more "private" to jerk each other off about how good you could survive in the woods?
