The threat of EMP is dramatically overblown by the prepping community. The only way you're going to have significant effects from EMP over large areas is in a full on nuclear exchange with airburst munitions. There are non-nuclear EMP devices but they are much more targeted and often used to target a single building or a single city block. They were used during the second Iraq war to target the Iraqi government television broadcasting capabilities.
Even with nuclear detonations the effects of EMP are spotty and according to some government documents "unreliable". The fact is if you're suffering the effects of wide scale EMP--you've got much bigger problems on your hands, like the massive radioactive fall out and nuclear winter.

Mechanical will always outlast electrical. While I agree electric capabilities will set you up for success in the initial run, bushcrafting skills will allow you to thrive further. Take away your electricity and now how are you going to cook? Clean? Survive? The people that will rely solely on electricity will become nothing but a target for the have-nots

the point of the channel isnt to discredit bushcraft and sustainable survival but to give people who live in a normal house or modern setting probably with some kids to survive a blackout, shtf etc event for at least a week or more. not run away to the woods and survive like jeremiah johnson.

In my humble opinion the trijicon acog is so effective that back in the day they thought the marines were executing the taliban because of how many headshots they were making.

I am going to disagree with a few things you said. First, LVPOs & ACOGs not being as good as Red Dots is completely wrong. After serving 20 years in the Corps and using ACOGs in combat they are just as good as a red dot as long as you have trained with them. Red Dots are great! I have one on my ACOG for that exact purpose. I can use it for fast acquisition in a CQB styed environment. I used my ACOG with its fiber optic and there was no need for batteries and used it in CQB. As for LVPOs, Law Enforcement, SOCOM, JSOC, Force Recon, Designated Marksmen, etc. have used LVPOs and they are highly trained units or specialized MOSs that are far beyond the average shooter or prepper. They use them to a high degree of accuracy and reliability that most people wish for in close up encounters. Granted some may have that pedigree from previous service, but the average citizen does not. There is also the chance a Red Dot stops working correctly. For instance the FBI testing of EOTech a decade ago. They found the thermal drift wasn't what the company claimed it should have been. They did fix it, but these items can fail in a few different ways. Not saying an ACOG or a LVPO can't break either, but mechanical over electronical is stronger. It comes down to training with the tools you have.
Second, jamming by the government is a reality. They have aircraft dedicated to jamming radars, radio frequencies, cell phones, GPS, and so on. Yes it will be localized but they can cover an entire area with their planes, far beyond what non military capable coms systems can. The range can be localized or spread out over dozens of miles across a wide range of the spectrum. I'm not saying don't have coms, but if you're thinking the government or a foreign government can't jam a signal and it cover large areas, you are wrong. Look at the Ukraine Russian front with drones being jammed and blocked for proof of reality.
Third, electronics in general are limited by water. Unless you have purchased military grade equipment that is designed to be used in a wet environment then you may, I stress may, lose that piece of equipment's usability. Some devices have a IPXX rating, while others do not. If you're in a situation where it is raining for days or having to traverse a body of water, those things could cause a failure of your equipment. Not saying it will but usually commercial grade electronics aren't going to have IP68 rating and be affordable.
You are correct and a prepper needs to have a WIDE range of skills and equipment that they train with regularly, but you also need to know the skills or how to use equipment that does not use electricity. Hence the prepper is prepared. Batteries, power generators, electronic communications, electronic sights, and so on have a place in being prepared for a situation, but having the knowledge and backups when, not if but when, electronics fail you are ready for that. If I was you, when you made this video, is to explain what your reasons are and what your background is as to why you are making these claims. It gives some context as to why your opinion is worth listening to. You brought up some great comments and reasons as to why having technology is important, but you're forgetting that technology can fail and then where are you if you are only relying on technology.

I think the point is that you should have bushcraft skills, and if you're super into prepping like you do, you probably don't.

I’d much rather have one of my LPVO’s than one of my red dots. I can shoot it just as fast as a dot and the magnification is better than a 3 or 5X magnifier. I can range targets pretty well with them and my hold overs are there! I keep hearing all these talking points repeatedly by these UA-cam experts like they don’t do anything well and this and that. Maybe your buying shitty LPVO’s but don’t take my word for it people like GrandThumb recommend them and use them for recce rifle builds.

Easy fix. Button batteries are cheap, small, easy to store, and have a 10-15 year shelf life. Buy 100 or so and you are probably set for life.
Sig Romeo 5s can be had for about $100 brand new if you shop around. Buy several. Go ahead, mount a few to your go-to rifles. Properly store the rest.
Last, get a small faraday bag from Mission Darkness and store your extra batteries and Romeo 5s there in the event of an EMP.
Sub $1000 to long-term prep optics.

6 years in the military here. I think you’re way off on the optics. Red dots are fine, sure. But the acog is a battle tested, tried and true, reliable and phenomena optic. many LPVO’s have etched reticles so even if you lose your Illuminated optic, you still have the etched BDC or cross hair, or what ever your reticle is.
200 yards is a close engagement not a far one. A red dot is capable out to 300 yards. Folks should be prepared for engagement distances pas 400 yards

Keep in mind we are not military we are going to be a reactivate group of people defending ourselves for the most part. Not saying that a civilian should not have a long range set up but we are going to be different then military. Thanks for the comment.

    I’ve notice people tend to
    Limit themselves one way
    Or the other regardless
If you live in the 1800 or
    Today nothing is 100 percent
In survival not only the pioneers hunted they fished
    And trapped and grew food
Because nothing is 100 percent today we need to
    Do the 100 percent example
Starting a fire today we need
    Matches , big lighter,fero rod
    That makes us 100 percent
    Why settle for less

Haven’t you seen all the minuteman prepared nerds, who “patrol” around by themselves with 14 mags because they think there invading a country during shtf.

@timothypeterson1903 if you think basic prepping items like a 800 dollar solar generator is crazy. And what are you talking about a squad to protect the whole point of prepping is to have the things in your home or apartment to live off of during shtf. Not “patroling” like all these other nerd channels do.
