Bungie Addresses Broken Exotic Khvostov Quest in Destiny 2 (Check Description For Updates)

- Important Bungie update on the exotic Khvostov mess. The Servitor/Meatball Boss “Koftiks” has been removed from the game, meaning there is no way to progress the quest until this is fixed.
June 12th Bungie Update:
UPDATE 1: Overthrow's Taken Servitor boss has been re-enabled. Players who previously had their Motes of Light removed after defeating the boss will need to go to Orbit for the Exotic Mote to appear in their Consumables Inventory. That issue will no longer occur for future players who defeat the boss.

UPODATE 2: Due to the fix, the Exotic Mote won't appear to drop on-screen and will just appear in the inventory. One free space must be available for the Mote to appear.

@@tannermaple mate i killed the boss and it took away my 16 motes of light and didn't give me the 17th mote from the boss. Trust me you'd be way more pissed if that happened to you. Cause i'm extremely pissed off about that.

The triumph for the bosses was completed for me even though I never even FOUGHT the meatball in the first place.

Same. Completed all 3 bosses in all 3 regions. got all 3 triumphs completed. Sitting at 16 motes of light. Still Meatball no spawning. Guess what! You just got bungie'd.

Hopefully this will help someone. When you’re at The Blooming and you get passed Level 3 going into the final boss fight, you can change the boss by loading into a different location and returning to The Blooming (I haven’t tried fast traveling to The Blooming while still in The Blooming, but it might work too) DO NOT damage or interact with the final boss if you do not want that specific boss. The boss will remain the same if you do so. I just stay on the outskirts of the map when doing this.
Also forgot to mention, if you’re on Level 3, and the Ogres are on the tree or any fight is around the tree, I’d recommend doing that one first so you can do an interaction away from the tree last to keep a distance from the Boss fight when it spawns.
You are a beautiful person for saying this because I was stuck with 16 motes but I just kept reloading at final boss and it ended up giving me the meatball boss. Also I think it is best to put notes in vault before you try to get the boss so there’s no glitch with losing motes. And the primordial mote was right under the boss after I killed him so I think they fixed the sending the mote flying to somewhere else.

I’m still stuck at 16 motes. All bosses defeated. When meatball is your Last boss, even after the patch, he doesn’t drop the last mote I need… they have no fixed this at all. Completed everything in the quest, just need 1 mote that this boss isn’t dropping for me. All the other bosses gave the motes except meatball. It’s frustrating because I cannot obtain it.
I’m also still stuck with 16 motes. I’ve been killing the meatball and also have killed additional bosses in all overthrow areas and still am unable to get the 17th mote.

Bungie is stupid with this quest, all known issues below;
1.The tracker for overthrow boss is bugged shows you completed encounters that you have not.
2. The meatball boss moth of light is bugged if thats you last encounter it wont drop the mote of light.
3. Nothing in the game says you need the legendary version of the gun but apparently you do.
Literally the entire quest is broken and nothing can be done because raid contest mode is live😂
Why ppl complain for non descriptive missions or aventures?

But then you get quests like this, where important information is hidden in the triumphs menu, and sometimes the triumphs lie about boss completion.
Dude thanks for making this video. I cannot for the life of me get the 17th mote to drop and its driving me crazy. Now that I know its bugged I wont be struggling to do more overthrow right now.

8 days later and i still can't get my last mote still sitting at 16 of 17 and i have killed each boss at least 3 times each this sucks

Me too. I've killed all of them in the other two areas and now I can't get any other boss other than the meatball to spawn and can't get the mote I need. This is so wrong. What a waste of time
The best way to fix it is to allow repeat bosses to drop the motes. Once the required number is reached they stop dropping them. Or continue to drop them and sell them to rahool for glimmer or rep?
I do think it would suck for people to have to replay the bosses, but making them be a guaranteed drop or maybe even having them drop multiple would probably be a good fix.
@@NinjaPups my triumphs says I've killed all 9 but I only have 15 motes so I don't even know what bosses it is that I need to get the last 2 so this would fix that. IDK what happened. Also my echoes act 1: a familiar voice is stuck on 2 of 7 saying within the pale heart, allies band together and doesn't tell me what to do.
@@Mr_Ruhl 1. the tracker is glitched and doesnt show bosses killed correctly - you probably missed bosses if you havent gotten the traveler visions
2. intended, it should progress next weekly reset

I got Khvostov yesterday like 30min before the tweet, I have footage of two meatball kills (you can just fast travel back and forth to change the boss if you’re solo) not dropping or launching the mote somewhere oob and a third kill where it dropped behind him on the floor. My guess is it drops every time but sometimes it glitches.
You know why I cant get the bosses to rotate after I've defeated all 3 ? I believe the meatball is all I need but won't spawn..

I got a extra note from the hive guardian boss, I didn't kill his ghost, he respawned and dropped another mote after killing him.

There is also a bug in the overthrows not spawning the secret lucent hive enemies which leads to the class item mission. The lucent hive enemy doesn't spawn no matter how many times you do the overthrow
Getting this wepon has been really annoying from the get go, and now we're stuck with one mote from getting it. I hope they fix this asap
I don’t know why this video didn’t get recommended to me before, it’s the only one I’ve seen mention the boss being disabled and I’ve been trying for like 2 days to get it to spawn. Would’ve been nice to know yesterday, rather than wasting time farming for something that no longer exists, but oh well I guess. A bandaid fix would be to remove all Motes of light from ones inventory, and make them obtained via the triumphs 'visionary' (Collect traveler memory statues) and the Overthrow boss triumphs

btw since your progress is saved, you can just reload the zone at wave 4 start until you get the boss you want

My problem, is the meatball is the last boss i need, 16/17 motes, and the second boss actually counted as meatball, and gave me 3/3 completion, dont know what to do...

The craziest part was I got the triumph for defeating the meatball but never fought it nor got a mote of light
Idk if they prevented motes of light from dropping entirely because i killed the lucient knight boss who i had never killed before and he did not drop a mote. Hopefully this is them pulling the plug and not another bug

I feel like they could have just made it get sent to the postbox and that would have fixed it and would have been easier than removing it from the game. That's just me. Although if I remember correctly they did tie damage to your fps at one point and anything over 60 fps would cause you to take more damage than you were supposed to so I doubt they could have made that work without deleting my character.

I got my motes and only need the last one. Only to be blocked by meatball being removed. Any game breaking related Quest issues should be TOP priority imho

Apparently I can even get the legendary version of the gun. Even though I completed both triumphs for the parts it's only showing 14 parts instead of 15

This is like the one exotic weapon I was looking forward to so this is super unfortunate, I want able to finish the campaign until yesterday a half hour before raid race started, I’m assuming you can still get the legendary version at least and up to 16 motes?
Yes you can, but also the bosses in overthrow can spawn like twice or thrice different, so you may spend a good amount of time farming in one location solo, with a fireteam however I can only imagine it being faster, but still really really tedious. And before that you will be spending a huge amount of time doing cysts, motes of light etc.
All in all from campaign completion to alone in the dark quest to finally farming motes you are looking at an entire day unless you know where everything is by heart and aren't alt tabbing back and forth between a guide on youtube constantly.
@@snicki854 there is a faster way you can do them if you are solo. You just do a full overthrow and when the boss spawns and it's not the boss you need you just teleport back to that area and it'll go to the next rotation
That explains why I lost all my motes and unable to earn them back no matter what I do
They should’ve just made it so the motes dropped from the triumphs for killing the bosses and for picking up the travelers rather than dropping from bosses and when you obtain the mini travelers, but those are just my thoughts on it
Me and a friend of mine have been farming overthrow in the blooming for hours to never get the meatball to spawn, since he was removed I suppose that makes sense but I never would’ve known otherwise because my luck is that bad, but as usual, bungie, the smartest thing in the galaxy
man I didn't even get this far. I've been stuck at 14 keys unable to collect the final one from one of the cyst missions
So to clarify, I need to get the legendary khvostov first before I can obtain the exotic. Once I get the legendary one, does a quest appear in my inventory for the exotic one or I just have to find the motes and collectibles on my own and then find the exotic chest.
Yes you need the legendary khvostov. No quest appears, there is no indication that you need it but you do. Then you go collect the motes and travelers and then you can open the final chest.

oh my god.. I did everything. Have the triumph for all the bosses and all the visions.. but I'm at 15 motes. Got the meatball boss early on. Maybe it eats all your current motes? and not necessarily the combined version?
Apparently other bosses can eat your motes but that’s unconfirmed. I have no idea this whole thing is bugged

Okay so the boss is out of the game and the quest is bugged too? I’m at 16/17, all bosses killed on the triumph. I know I’ve gotten the motes from the first area bosses since I got them all in a row yesterday. I feel like I’ve killed the tormentor and the new boss in the 3rd area but idk about the other boss. And I’ve only seen the other 2 in the second area.

Today I fought the meatball with 16 motes in my vault, shot him during his death animation a few times and Voila! I got the exotic mote and now I have exotic Khvostov! As a bonus I collected my remaining prismatic fragments. Guess all that's missing in Pale Heart are the feathers. And GM Excision for Ergo Sum catalyst.
I know this is a video about how the exotic version is currently bugged, but I'm having an issue with the legendary. I collected all 9 chests and did the cyst missions but somehow I'm only at 14 pieces. I re did all cyst missions and non of the scrap piles are there in any of them. Any help would be appreciated.

I left a comment on the “how to get the legendary Khvostov” and several people are having the same issue.
I guess I had to do the overthrow by myself to get the 17th mote because earlier I did it with my son but it didn't drop.
Then I did it on my own and it dropped.

Bungie should make it so that those with the triumphs unlocked, the triumph for finding the Visions of the Traveler as well as the 3 triumphs for killing all Overthrow bosses, should get the Exotic Mote for the weapon. The fact they make something so important, that you can only get one time, drop as an engram and NOT have it go in our postmaster or just drop it in our inventory directly... is really fucking stupid

And also, its not like its pointless to do the quest. The quest is long, like really long. Collecting all Regios Chests, all Travellers, all the Keys from the Cyst, all bosses from all 3 overthrows. Thats take time. I dont think a rework will come, they will just fix the boss.
Yeah I farmed it trying to get meatball got the triumph for killing all in that area never killed it and am 16 of 17 with now no way to get the last mote until they put out the update
Why did they not just have the motes from the bosses pop up straight into your inventory instead of it being a ground drop... that just seems like a bad idea for a quest item and they already do that for the traveler motes. Also, why doesn't it just land in your postmaster?! And then the worst decision they could've made is to completely remove any chance of completing the quest by removing a boss.
I just got the exotic mote but the 16 are gone is that normal for them to combine into the exotic?

My meatball boss and the last boss in the impasse won't spawn for me, but it autocompleted it for me. Not sure what's happening and I only have 15 motes. My triumphs say I've got all of them completed lol
They deleted the boss until they find a patch so you can't get the exotic until they patch it, ( except if you have already all mote )

The meatball boss and the last boss in the impasse wont spawn and have completed in my triumphs without an encounter. I have everything complete according to that, but I only have 15 motes lol
