FYI: You don't need to delete the whole stack of 10 at the postmaster. Just dismantle down to 4. Once you you clear the legendary memory after you find the prismatic chest, pull the 4 from the postmaster, rinse and repeat. This worked for me today.

Just tried this and it did not work. Went from 4 in inventory to 7 when pulled... no purple.

You can only have 10 max.
Wish Bungie would list patch notes and fixes in game. This was listed in the known issues section of the TWID on the 6th:
"Vestiges won't auto-convert into a Memory item if another Memory item is in your inventory. Players must obtain another Vestige after the Memory is used for Vestiges to convert into another Memory."
well, it's still not fixed. Months after launch.
I believe I have now unlocked all the pieces to work around Bungies bug.
1.) You have to have an active alone in the dark quest. ( It is repeatable just go back to Micah in Lost City)
2.) Get the quest but don’t start to do anything on it, instead make sure you have no more than 4 vestiges of light in your inventory.
3) Steps 1 and 2 will enable the “shiny opponents” in cysts AND it activates the code to convert 5 stacks of blue to legendary when you get them.
4) Now go run a cyst, another author claimed if you do them in the “featured overthrow” region they are always in those cysts. It worked for me. I even swapped between two cysts in region and both dropped them.
5) Finally you must go complete the mission to open the chest once you have the legendary vestige of light before accruing any more.
i cant say all these steps are necessary or not, all i can say is this worked perfect for me. and took very little time, one of the first enemies in the cyst dropped my legendary vestige (already had a 4 stack, deleted from 10, as per discussion)!
FYI I did the cysts in the region of the day and they did not drop (the landing). I then went to go do searing light from the blooming and it worked. For me it was Searing Light twice in a row.
I tried this, but they are still not converting. I tried deleting all and my dark ones, too. It still goes over 4. Guess I will have to wait till bungee decides to fix it.
For me it has been only slayer that drops vestiges of light for me, but this keeps giving me the same chest of which I already have the fragment. Anyone know how to fix?
i learned what makes this glitch happen, you can collect both light and dark memory 24/7, but you can only progress either light OR dark, finally, alone in the dark is teh quest to force the game to spawn shiny enemies, the quest states "the cyst has mutated" and shiny enemies spawn
You continued to farm memories before completing the first one and that's when they start to overflow since you can't have 2 legendary at once

@@FloSemolaI am also in this same boat. Can’t get the quest back and neither Sword Dance or Searing Light cysts are dropping motes. No shiny enemies are appearing. Now I’ve deleted the 9 I had down to four. That didn’t work. Deleted them all. Also did not work.
MY FIX WAS THAT I DID A CYST I HAVENT DONE , CANT DO SAME ONE MULTIPLE TIMES WITHOUT COMPLETING THE OTHERS

The cyst that drops them is the one marked for the "Alone in the Dark" repeatable quest.

Not allowing the Legendary memories to stack is stupid, plain stupid. Bungie know what they are doing. Bungie is quick to "fix" issues that benefit the player but not so quick to fix problems. Thanks for the video 👍🏻
I go to the Scar cyst and was mad that I went there and found no glowing enemies. So I decided to do the cyst mission and when I killed the Lightbearer Knight it gave me the last light I needed. Mind you...he wasn't glowing at all. Thanks for the help!

Thank you, your fix works perfectly. I struggled for days with other suggestions, nothing worked. I had 10 light and dark in the post and 10 each in the inventory. Until I deleted all but 4 light in my inventory no glowing enemies, no memories nothing!! Thanks again.

the witness slice finisher is also broken. over night it changed from the witness' hand movement slice finisher to a weird jumping back kick finisher.....(

bungo changed animation coz something was screwy
Yeah Bungie already made a report saying that the animation will be replaced with a different one until the bug from the original is fixed.
Bungie changed that intentionally bc it was allowing a Self Res glitch that worked in darkness zones and let you do things like skipping raid wipe mechanics
Wow this happened to me. I was so frustrated trying to figure out what to spend them on. I also can't get any more alone the dark quests to progress the paranormal activity stuff.
What do you mean you can’t get anymore alone in the dark quests? The quest does not end unless you abandoned it by mistake to my knowledge.

I KNEW something was wrong….i did cysts so many times and nothing. I deleted 1 of 10 vestiges of light and didn’t work but now I know to delete all but 4. FHA is for the video 🤙🏽
Yes had to do this yesterday. But it also works if you just delete one out of your 10 . Finally got facet of dominance

Bungie is killing me with this stuff. The amount of rerunning, backtracking and rehashing runarounds we need to do to get one simple thing done because Bungie still hasn't fixed it is insane.

I've had this bug happen to me with the dark vestiges. Same thing applies with the light ones. Bungies working on a fix for this bug too.
Dang I didn't hear about anyone having the problem with the dark ones. That's good to know.

Have you tried dismantling all but 4 and then doing another darkness chest? It might work the same way

Try following the steps in the video by deleting your stack of darkness ones until you get down to 4. Then do another chest.

Did this. Down to 4 in the inventory. Went through 4 Cysts, and killed the glowing enemies. No Memory Vestige's of any kind ever dropped. Literally need 5 prismatic unlocks: Ascent, Dissent, Iconoclasm, and the 2 left after that are from Light memories..

I am getting this and another issue. I am opening the prism chests, but fragments are not dropping.
Had this issue last week. Figured it was a staxking issue so i just deleted them all out of my inventory and postmaster and that fixed it. Pretty stupid on Bungie's end and a pretty sizeable oversight

Ok so crazy thing this happened to me and I deleted all my memories in my inventory and my postmaster and still didn’t get any until I had my friend join and they kill the light guys that drop the memories and that gave me the memories, but I couldn’t kill them get the memories so even after you delete all of the memories you still don’t get the memories. Try to have somebody else kill them in your pale.

I wonder if I broke mine. I had an overflow in my postmaster, and i dismantled all of them before finding this video. I have 10 in my collections, so I'll dismantle another 6 as you suggested, and hopefully, I can find a drop. I feel like i completed all the cyst, so im not sure if I'll get lucky.

Still bugged as of July 23rd 2024. I've maxed out 10 'Memory: Vestige of Light' on my Warlock and I've got 10 of them also clogging up my Post Office.

I have all of the fragments and I still keep getting them so now I keep overflowing with them
I don't have any of the cysts. I completed the mission, went back to Micah's conduit, and couldn't get anything from it. So, I can't redo the mission and don't know where the cysts are on the map.

.. because the code only runs the conversion when the number of these in your inventory equals five. Not when it is equal to or larger than five .. (Gen X software dev).

@@Zambooki_ Try another Cyst, for me worked Aerial Ace, but after i've completed once they don't drop anymore, so i tried other cyst mission and shinny monster was appearing there.
@@watafulgames yeah I needed to do the sword one. Had a shiny guy in there. Turns out they'll only spawn for the regions where you don't have the chest yet

I have a different glitch, and no one has a video on how to fix it and bungie ticket has been open and they have not fixed it yet.
My issue is different, missing 3 fragments and when I open the fragment chest it gives me a pale heart mod!

I recommend deleting everything and picking up fresh vestiges just along as you haven't completed the Alone in the Dark Quest. I did what was recommended by deleting the overflow and keeping 4. I ran 3 cysts with no drops. I asked a buddy of mine and He recommended deleting all of them. I did that, ran one cyst, and received 5 new vestiges.

Have you tried visiting all of the cysts? You can also pick up the alone in the dark quest and see if it takes you to one with the shiny bois. But yeah you could also just wait if you don’t wanna deal with it
@@NinjaPups did the Micah quest and tried all the cysts but I'll try again after reset :) I have all the perks I want for the subclass :)

Im note sure how this works but i only have 8 of those triangles of darkness and 1 of them Is legendary Red colour ,It says It can be found on the impaste ,but on the impaste i found nothing like It ,i found a Golden chest that said It requires something to open It but i can't find any videos about that 😅
