Great videos Steve ! , Taking delivery of the AU9000 tomorrow 30/10 , i have read the specs of this and the AU8000 , stating that they both have Ambient Mode , I'll let you know for sure real soon 👍🤔
I bought an used Samsung KS7090 from 2016 for just 450$ and it has in every category a better picture, like HDR1000, native 10 bit Quantum Dot panel, 100Hz panel, local dimming, One Connect Box, USB Recording,... on top its imo one of the best looking tv's, with thin bezels and a glowing Samsung logo 😍 Of course there is a risk buying used tv's but you can't get a better offer... since the MU/NU series Samsung had downgrade there tv's a lot and even a 6 Series Qled can't be compared to the 2016 KS Series... I also want to mention that the 2021 Q60 has much less features compared to the 2017 Q60, in things such as brightness, contrast ratio, local dimming, refresh rate,... I don't know why they downgrade their tv's every time. Of course there are new features like crystal 4k but at the end all comes down to the specs. Sry for bad english :)
Yes ive also noticed that samsung keeps on getting worse. Seems like getting the screen even thinner is most important to the company in the last years. Honestly id rather have a CRT-thick tv which was great, then a superthin tv which just keeps on failing on several factors like darkness, brightness, upscale issues, lag latency issues, sync issues, etc etc.
You left out the fact that the AU 8000 has Alexa built-in, meaning that you can have Alexa do almost anything from changing channels and etc. But the TU 8000 only is Alexa enabled, meaning the only thing you can get it to do is turn the TV on and it may be changed volumes and etc. If you’re going to do comparisons, you need to give all the details and not just the ones you want to show. The Alexa differences are critical to the two machines because some people want more Alexa control in their device and the TU 8000 does not give them that. The a U 8000 is superior and that Alexa is built-in, give me you almost full use of the capabilities of what Alexa can do. Next time mentioned that? Thanks.

excellent video on the comparison of the two same sets (one year apart) . So I liked the TU model because colors were darker . White bright color is not the color you see most of the time when watching normal content . To bad you did not have the 85 inch set to compare ,that might have showed more of a comparison . Again excellent review .

Hi, Steve. The TU8000 is Direct Lit while the AU8000 is Edge Lit. I returned my AU8000 for the TU8000 and last years model is much better from my experience. Direct Lit > Edge Lit anyday
Best Buy’s site says that TU7/8000 are Direct Lit, hence the screen thickness is much thicker than the design of the AU8000. I would get the older models instead of the AU8000 as the thin design sacrifices the picture quality. Great review though 👍🏽
I use to repair tv, mainly Samsung. i use to have both TU and AU in 55 inch 7 series side by side. The main difference is the LED backlight. TU has direct light, and AU edge light (Looking back on previous models 2016-2019, all the edge light tend to fail over time from overheating. burning leds and damage light disperser panel). Speaking about reliability over time TU 2020 will be far superior to AU 2021. now i chose to keep TU, and works great with playstation.
Why are they removing the number pad from remotes? There are still a lot of people who watch local TV. Will the number pad work, on this TV, with a universal remote?
Because the majority of people do use or need it. I use apps and I haven’t even missed it at all but if you’re use to a cable box or something like that i can see why someone could be upset
Hi Steve I enjoy your videos and I'm learning a lot I'm in the market for a new TV but I don't want to spend more than about 6 $700 do you think the Au 8000 is a good TV to watch sports on

Am willing to spend btw 80k to 90 k
Waise 86 k max (inr)
Love from india ❤️❤️, great comparison video and really helped me to decide which one should go👍👍
I replaced my tu8000 with a bigger au8000 but I’ve noticed backlight bleeding with the au8000 that’s non existent on my previous TU. Very disappointed especially on a dark room. Did you experience this? Thanks!!
I don’t remember it being that bad
Caught up between two deals - AU8000 43inches ($590) or TU8000 55inches ($670). What should I go for, specifically for gaming/picture quality?
If you don't care about the new features go for the TU8000
Are you using standard preset or natural, cause natural to me looks better over all color wise on the tu8000, eich I have
I used Standard and set warm 1,sharpness off judder 5
@@PaulPaul-si8tu that doesn't look that bad, just putting that in on my standard
tech Steve I'm curious ive the 75 inch tu8000 great gaming TV but the auto clarity with flashing lights like cop sirens gun fire and more all distort the screen wondering does the 42 inch model have it I have 4 tvs and the tu8000 2 LG 2 Philips ambi light one Samsung only see this on Samsung also this problem doesn't happing with auto clarity off but noise reduction is set to off witch u shud be able to turn on as u get grading picture and sum judder I called Samsung out on this said there releasing an update but total lies realy love to see how the auto clarity on ur tu8000
Qual é o local dimming da au8000 e o nível de preto?
Hi, Steve. The TU8000 is Direct Lit while the AU8000 is Edge Lit. I returned my AU8000 for the TU8000 and last years model is much better from my experience. Direct Lit > Edge Lit anyday
Unless this site is wrong both are edge lit www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/c56b1d2e
Best Buy’s site says that TU7/8000 are Direct Lit, hence the screen thickness is much thicker than the design of the AU8000. I would get the older models instead of the AU8000 as the thin design sacrifices the picture quality. Great review though 👍🏽
I seen that but no where else, very confusing www.reviewed.com/televisions/content/samsung-tu8000-led-tv-review also claims edge lit.
Thanks tech Steve very good job. Influence my buy.
Thanks for watching
What are the video settings on tu8000 for watching hdr contents?
great job steve! love the testing of lower end tvs.
Ordered the tu8000 based on your reviews. Now it seems a bit dark, lower nits compared to the au8000 for sure.
I’m constantly upgrading my personal tech because of new products. It gets expensive
Turn off HDR and up the brightness. Might have to sacrifice some contrast and colour accuracy to achieve a brighter picture.
Another good comparison Steve👍💯
Awesome thanks 👍🏽
Why are they removing the number pad from remotes? There are still a lot of people who watch local TV. Will the number pad work, on this TV, with a universal remote?
Because the majority of people do use or need it. I use apps and I haven’t even missed it at all but if you’re use to a cable box or something like that i can see why someone could be upset
Hey Steve what are your thoughts on the new BU8000? I just bought one.

@@TechSteve thanks steve, great content
Awesome review and comparison. I was literally looking for this exact comparison, and your video is the only one to come up. Thanks.

Is there a review for the Samsung au7000 ? Thx
If you visit Samsung US website, we do have access to the au7000. And thanks for the praise 👍🏽
do you have backlit bleeding on the au8000
Hi Steve I enjoy your videos and I'm learning a lot I'm in the market for a new TV but I don't want to spend more than about 6 $700 do you think the Au 8000 is a good TV to watch sports on
Yes
All three of my brand new AU8000s menus lag like crazy. It’s slower than an old windows 98…
I apparently seriously downgraded going from TCL to Samsung 🤔
Does Samsung have model AU8100?
Can I get your thoughts? Should I get the AU8000 or Q60T, I cant find any vids comparing the two. Would really appreciate it if you can answer me. Thanks!
It will be out on my channel next week
@@TechSteve Got it, will look forward to the vid. Thanks!
This review is phenomenal. Thank you! Definitely subbing to your channel
Thanks Jim

Really good video! Is the comparison between Q60A vs AU8000 coming soon?
Follow my community tab on top, LG Time!
I have a quick question maybe its stupid but does the third HDMI above the optical input have less capabilities or is it exactly the same?
They are all the same
@@TechSteve Thank you so much! :)
the tu8000 auto clarity is flawed u can't watch any movies with flashing lights picture gets distorted black shape appear I would not recommend tu8000 at all for movies it's a gaming TV no problem with gaming flawess
