your little girl is like me! I was born here in the states but my parents are from cambodia. During my first visit many many years ago, I wanted to try everything! My favorite were the crikets! I am laughing at your reaction after trying them hahaha thank you for opening her heart
That’s awesome! Yes the crickets are her favorite now 🤣 And we’re so glad she got to try so many things! Thanks for watching and sharing your experience 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Was so excited you posted more videos of Cambodia. I loved the last one. Your daughter is so lucky! She's so cute and smart. I love how she's willing to try everything! I can't even get my son to try a granola bar ugh. Keep up the great work. I just liked and subscribed :)
As an adult, I still feel cautious to try new things, specially insects even though the after-cooked smell is sooo good. I'm so surprised, she is so brave, doesn't scared to try everything. That's the definition of fun adventure Such a cutie and respectful 💕💕💕
I've been living in Siem Reap since September. The first night out, I went exploring and came across a street vendor selling insects. It was a slow night, and the vendor kept giving me samples: crickets, worms, beetles, spiders, etc. The crickets were definitely my favorite. When you're crossing the street, just make sure there's a gap approaching you in the traffic on your left. Then take a quick glance to your right to make sure there's not a solid wall of vehicles coming your way. It helps if there's also a traffic gap coming from the right. Step out when the gap on your left reaches you, and just keep going. Don't do anything sudden, and keep your head on a swivel. Eye contact helps. Be aware that driving on the wrong side of the street is a much used option.
@@TheirHappyTrails I'm from Colorado. I came out here in September, only planning to stay for 3-4 weeks, then go back home to work another 2.5 years so I could max out my Social Security benefits at 70. One day a little over two weeks in, it hit me. I really didn't want to go back. I called my workplace, thanked them for everything they've done for me, and told them I wasn't coming back. Best decision ever (I might have to rethink that once the Hot Season hits 🤔)
The worm you ate are silk worm. When they cacoon they turn into this short chubby worm inside their silk cacoon. After they spin out all the silk the worm is basically free snack. The process of spining the silk involve boiling the worm and husk in a warm water you should visit a silk craft village to see how they make silk.
Many years ago my daughter and I tried fried scorpions at the Night Market, tasted like potato chips.. quite nice.. I had tarantulas many years ago in SR, and crickets in P Penh just a few months ago... and have eaten many weird things.. food is culture.
Hi love the video! Me and my husband are considering moving to south east aisa with our two daughters who are currently 4 and 2 years old. Cambodia (siem reap) is definitely top of the list at the moment as we went there on holiday recently and loved it. Just wondering if youd be able to give me some insight into home schooling abroad? My initial thought was to put them into a school but after doing some reasearch it does not seem like the safest option for them. Any insight into living abroad with young kids and home schooling would be great 😊
Hey! Thanks for reaching out. Yes, it’s a tricky subject! It depends on where you’re based from. So we hired a teacher to help us build a curriculum outline for us to follow. And then Ericka does most of the teaching. It is definitely time and effort to homeschool and has its pros and cons. Our daughter is really just becoming school age, and teaching them without an official program doesn’t give the kids any actual credits. So we will most likely soon get a real homeschooling program from the US that is accredited. We will definitely make a video on this though!
Let Shanti do the commentary / narrating atleast for a next upcoming video , her cute way of speaking, describing things would bring the video to next level ! Just an Idea ! Love you guys !
