In July 2020, in the wake of Geoge Floyd’s death, the chant heard around the world was ‘Black Lives Matter’. But this rallying cry didn’t come out of nowhere, it is the result of years of building momentum and concerted effort from activists like Alicia Garza, who co-founded the Black Lives Matter movement in 2013. Isobel learns about the roots of BLM, what drives Garza in her life-long pursuit of activism and organizing - and, importantly, what’s next for Garza as she fights for a more equitable world.

The organization was also accused of knowingly, sterilizing women who were of different colors I wouldn’t be surprised if any women were Jewish or Catholic, who were victims of that organization. Instead went directly to helping themselves such as buying houses in a gated community with arm guards along with cars RVs just other kinds of materialistic crap. This movement I’ve been looking at them for so long now has been nothing more than the biggest scamming prejudice group on the planet. That was one of the most soft ball puff piece interviews I've ever seen... Isobel is an amazing reporter but man she really dropped the ball here. The organization merits a lot of questioning. This is not an indictment of the movement for black equality and liberation, but this particular group has done some very questionable things (especially with money). The constant complements and sucking up was utterly staggering. I was hoping Isobel was doing this to soften up Garza and put her off guard for the harder questions, but those never materialized. Vice and Isobel have done some kick ass reporting, go back to that.
