Rather than buying lots of makeup, better invest in best ones. Beginners mistake: buying matte foundation (you'll have a hard time applying because they tend to set quicker and get cakey easier); buying colorful eyeshadow (you won't use 90% of the pallette); buying gel eyeliner (it will dry before you used 1/4 of it); buying matte lipstick (if you're beginner you better avoid it, recommended color for your first lipstick is the color of your gum, same for blush on), buying eyebrow pencil the same shade as your hair (go for one shade lighter). Invest in: sunscreen (never skip it). Always blend your makeup (brush your eyebrow after you filled in too), but you don't have to blend the powder just light tap it on your face. This is because beginners usually don't know how to apply smoothly, you don't want to looks like a caricature. Edit: just wanna say that I'm happy to discuss makeup with you guys 😊💞 also, makeup is there to enhance our natural beauty and it's for fun, you don't have to be stressed out finding the "perfect" makeup. It's totally okay to do the opposite of what I said and experiment more if that's the look you're aiming for and make you happy!
I agree, but for me, I prefer fuller brows. So, I use the same exact shade as my hair. It’s easier to use less brow product than more. If I use a light shade, it takes forever to fill in my brows, and I have to use more product too.
agree, but only thing i disagree with is “one shade lighter than your hair”. this doesn’t and wouldn’t really work for people who have black eyebrow hairs
As someone who has been wearing makeup for 9 years now and was the person that people went to for beauty advice in school, YES. I agree with pretty much everything said in this video. I wish I had this video when I first started when I was younger, so I didn't have to watch countless videos just to get one tip that is actually decent. I'm glad that makeup newbies watching this video won't have to pore over the internet for hours, searching for product recommendations. Not only that, but you also gave high and low-end suggestions! TBH, the recommended products in the video are classics in the beauty community and while still good, there are products out there with better formulations and ingredients. But this video is great!
Another important thing to remember is that you can pick which makeup to put on. Figure out your features and pick what makeup to use to complement them. You dont need to use all the steps. Some people only do eyebrow and lips and skip the rest. Sometime less is more.
this came at the right time. i've been planning on buying makeup now that i'm 20. it's basically a new decade of my life and i want to start it off by learning new things and getting back into old hobbies that i love. one of them is doing makeup, which i must admit that i failed at multiple times but now that channels like these exist, i will finally learn how to properly do it. i'm basically in my lim jugyeong era, lmao
same! i'm 20, too! as a child, i loved watching michelle phan on youtube, so i really loved makeup but i never really learned how to do it. this channel is very helpful esp for people like me.
Great video, very helpful! But it's important to apply the appropriate amount of sunscreen even if you're also wearing primer, you should just wait a few minutes between applying sunscreen and primer and you're good to go :)
@@mica7063 yes. Sunscreen is the last step in a skincare routine. And primer is the first step in a makeup routine (if you start with your complexion instead of your eye makeup for example) Hope it helps 🤗
Yes! Especially if you're a beginner. If you must, cushion or BB cream is better for starter, as they're lighter and easier to apply. The key is blending. Applying base makeup from center and work your way to outer.
makeup starter kit for myself : 1. primer : oil controlling or pore blurring(pea size amt) # don't rub or smudge, just apply it in outer single direction # let it set for few mins before moving on others 2. Foundation : sheer liquid or cusion compacts or full cover formula (cushion or bb cream better for beginner) # apply at the center of ur face then blend out from center to outer region # should have thick layer on the inner & thin at the out region (creats contouring effect) # apply & blend out foundation by section & move to another 3. liquid concealer : match with foundation shade 4. base setting : loose powder or setting spray # loose powder with powder puff # remove excess powder before applying # for matte look : settings spray - loose powder # for dewy look: loose powder - settings spray 5: Brows : brows powder # comb out brows before filling them in 6: Eye-shadow # matte colour pallet with neutral or earthy tones with shimmers mixed 7. eyeliner : eyeliner pencil 8. mascara 9. Contour & matte highlight tips : # avoid matte products # lip gloss > lipstick # use least foundation on nose & forehead # use oil based primer for oil base foundation & water base primer for water base
Hello I'm a newbie in makeup but I've less blemishes on my face to should I go for conceler and BB cream or foundation, I also have dark Circle , so please give me ur suggestions
i know im late but if u want a more natural look then go for bb cream, i used to use cc cream which is heavier (looks less natural) i didnt need to use concealer with it its basically foundation but with sunscreen & primer added to save time ❤️
Honestly. I only have two brushes. One is big for contouring and blush while one is small for eyeshadow. I have no knowledge about makeup brushes but this is what works for me lol
I've always been hesitant to buy makeup products despite wanting to wear makeup because I don't know what I exactly need and what's good for me. This video gave me more confidence to explore and buy makeup products and gave advice I need to know beforehand. Thank you for this guide
For beginners I highly recommend not using matte products because its hard to control especially for lipstick. Just use lip gloss until you really comfortable. Gel eyeliner is waste of money if you're not used to it so just use your eyebrow pencil to draw your eyeliner. You can also use your eyebrow pencil for contouring.
Thanks I didn't know this but is it okay if I do matte lipstick? I used it before and I believe it looks very good on my lips, my mom have a matte lipstick and one of the shade fits me perfectly. Please enlighten me cause maybe it really isn't that good. (I have small knowledge of make up)
When buying drugstore makeup, I feel like I was about to do my makeup by myself easy and simple, but things got a little fiddly and messy, but with this guide for a makeup novice like me, I feel it was way too easy for me to follow! Thanks for the guide and the best finds I could buy!!
The one tip I could give to new make up junkies outta there is to.. Match your make up kit to your way of life and how you would usually want to look everyday!! This is my mistake. IF you are a lazy bum or has a busy schedule that make up is easily forgotten, focus on products that lets you be quick and be done with make up.. Like tinted moisturizers, concealers with doe foot applicator (the same applicator as lip gloss), cream blush, lip tint, simple mascara, simple setting powder.. IF you have all the time of the world, want to make a statement each day, wants flawless look or is willing to put on effort on doing make up.. Then you can dive into full fave foundations, eyeshadow pallettes, powder blush and contours, baking powder, liquid eyeliner.. Any make up that tends to be friendly to editorial looks, drag looks etc
i started wearing makeup around 2 years ago and to everyone who is overwhelmed, i recommend starting with a few products and building up your collection as you get more comfortable! my essentials for everyday makeup are: eyelash curler, liquid eyeliner, mascara, eyebrow pencil, gel eyeliner (to tightline my eyes), tinted chapstick. concealer is optional if you have blemishes :)
when you use foundation, use the least on your nose and forehead. For extra coverage, spot conceal and blend. If you put the same amount of foundation on your nose and forehead as your cheeks, it'll look heavy really quick.
Hey! Kinda random recommendation but since I haven't seen anything on the topic on your channel yet, have you considered making a video about how to apply the techniques on darker skin tones? For some things it doesn't change, but a lot of colors straight up won't show up on me so I'd love to have a guide on how to adjust to get the same effects of asian beauty techniques, just on darker skin.
as a tip, whatever colours they recommend go for the more saturated version EG. IF the say light pink blush, buy a hot pink one and also conceal with a lighter shade before applying
Just a list for what I need 1 sunscreen Liquid concealer for my dark circles Hearth tone eyeshadow Highlight looks cool Blushes both contouring and expanding
I started using makeup since 2017 but I still consider myself a novice. Since I mostly used base, eye products and lips, I knew I still have a lot to learn. Thank you for this video!
This is really helpful 😊 I am a 16-year-old looking to get into make up, but with no one to teach me my mother was never into make up so there was no opportunity to learn from her
i really like buying and using makeup, but i try to keep my selection of products small and simple. you’d be surprised at how little you need. it’s tempting to buy every product you like the look of, especially when you see people with those massive makeup collections.. but trust me, its WAY more cost-effective to only buy things when u need them or when you run out of things. makeup has expiry dates and if you have too many products, you won’t be able to use all of them while they’re still nice. i’m really happy with my selection because it covers everything i need while not being huge. this is what i recommend. *eyeshadows* i have one WARM neutrals palette which consists of tan, chesnut, orangey-red and rich brown shades. then i have one COOL neutrals palette which has taupe, grey and muted brown shades. finally i have one colourful palette, it has 16 rainbow shades and is perfect for when i want a to have bit of fun. *other eye products* i own one eyebrow pencil with a little spoolie on the end, one dark brown eyeliner and one mascara. that’s honestly all i need. *face products* one cushion foundation, one cream concealer, and one translucent setting powder. i don’t use primer because good skincare prep will do the same job. i don’t own any highlighters as each of my eyeshadow palettes contains a few shimmer shades which work as highlighters. i also don’t own any blushes, you’ll see why when i explain my lip products. *lip products* for natural glowy looks, i own a few tinted lip balms - two stick balms which have a slight dewy finish, and two ones in squeeze tubes which are super glossy. for matte lips, i have two matte blurring lip tints. one vibrant coral red for warm toned looks, and one rosy mauve for cool toned looks. these also leave a lasting stain, which is nice. the final lip products i own work perfectly as blushes - two soft matte liquid lipsticks, in a natural peachy rose and in a fresh pure pink. i don’t end up using the soft matte liquid lipsticks as lipsticks as the shades are a little too light for my lips. so, instead of wasting them, i repurposed them as blushes and they work nicely. the trick is to blend them out with my concealer. okayyy well that’s all lol, i hope someone reads this and find it helpful
@@kochenko3 my eyeshadow palettes are from various different brands, such as rimmel and nyx. i tend not to go for korean beauty brands when buying eyeshadow as i find western brands have more pigment and a wider variety of shades. my eyebrow pencil is the slim version of the drawing eyebrow pencil from etude house, and my eyeliner is the bbia lasting gel pencil. my mascara is from maybelline. my concealer and powder are both from the fit me line by maybelline and the the cream highlighter is also from maybelline. for lip balms, i use burts bees tinted lip balms which are relatively solid in consistency in stick format. they’re made with beeswax and other natural, nice ingredients and dont have strong scents, which i appreciate. the glossy ones are from dr lipp. this brand also has really natural ingredients, in a very simple lanolin based formula. the dr lipp ones are especially good, their consistency is lovely, super thick and moisturising and i cannot recommend them enough! the water lip tint is from the body shop, and seems to be very similar to the etude dear darling water tint in terms of formula. my matte blurring lip tints are the blur water tint by 3ce and the water blurring fixing tint by wakemake. the soft matte liquid lipsticks are from nyx. as you can see, there’s a mix kbeauty products and western products in my collection. i find that each respective industry has different strengths in particular types of products. hope this helped! :)
I first did makeup when i was 10, and learned mostly from kbeauty. I still prefer douyin/kbeauty styles because i love how soft it looks. I've seen some hidden tips for makeup and apparently i did some of those when i was younger. I then stopped when COVID started and now i'm getting back into makeup! My #1 tip however is to take it slow when figuring out what suits you. Especially for teens, start with cheaper brands (such as Essence!) I still get confused and rushed on what i should use and learn first but i suggested figuring out your face shape, skin type, and skin tone first then look through different kinds of looks and do some research on how to achieve that with the knowledge on what kind of shades and products suit you! Mixing techniques from different styles is cool too, especially if a certain style doesn't compliment you completely (i say this while not really doing this LMAO jk i do this but more unconciously) Edit: OH and to my fellow teens, you don't always have to do a full look. Just some blemish covering and color (like blush and lip gloss) is already a good start :)
Never ever skip sunscreen! Sunscreen everyday on face and body even you’re staying inside. Sun damage is scarier and harder to fix than you think. Start using sunscreen as soon as you can.
My first ever makeup kit were a small red-ish brown pallette, one matte foundation (that, admittedly, was a shade too dark), one mascara (this mascara is my favourite to this day, but it was discontinued so I'm suffering trying to find the same brush+formula combination) and one liquid eyeliner They served me very well until I had the money to spend on other items!
When it comes to primer and foundation; Make sure to use a oil based primer if your foundation is oiled based and water based if your foundation is water based (check the ingredients at the back, the first one says aqua ? Then it's water based)
Love this! Only thing I would say that this video does not is that spf is soooo important! It’s going to protect your skin from cancer and other diseases and keep you more youthful! So always wear it under a primer if you would like both!
I would pass out on a hill for the ISEHAN Lash Princess Mascara and Eyeliner. They’ve been my go to since 2018. Also I suuuper love the Canmake Tokyo Cream Cheek Blush in shade 05. It’s a light pink on my light yellow skin tone and it gives me a natural blush/warmth to my face
I really love that the techniques in these videos are so widely applicable. I've been following the tips in dear peachie videos and so far, I can definitely see an improvement
My favourite makeup product is powder foundation. If you have any sort of skincare routine - which has absolutely become mainstream these days - you can just dust some powder foundation all over your face while your moisturizer is still a bit wet. Your skincare acts as a primer, especially if it has SPF! Sometimes, I put on concealer before the powder. This is perfect for a "no-makeup" or super fast look. From there, all I do is put on a bit of light-handed eyeliner and blush, maybe add a small touch of eyeshadow, and finish with lip balm. That makeup look, including the skincare, can all come together in about five minutes! The only makeup that I use regularly is my moisturizer with SPF, concealer, powder foundation, lip balm, eye liner, blush (which I only started adding recently), and sometimes nude eyeshadow. Everything else is for special occasions. My first ever "makeup kit" was a soft pink eyeshadow palette and a tube of clear mascara. I BEGGED my mom to let me wear makeup when I was in grade school, and that's what she picked out for me. I still have the eyeshadow almost 20 years later! ❤Then, when I started "for real", I used dollar store products. Maybe not the safest, but it was a fun way to experiment in my teens. I finally graduated to department store makeup, and eventually drugstore makeup. And every once in a while, I'll take a peek at makeup stores to see if they have a house brand or a nice sale. But when you're starting out, you don't need to spend much money at all!
Also I have used revolution baking powder in the shade banana. I KID U NOT ITS SO NICE, it blurs out my skin, not drying at all (unless you have very dry skin), matte, no flash backs. Btw I’m olive toned. The down side is that if you have excess powder left to be used later on, the packaging can get messy so make sure you don’t have excess left. I only use it for my concealer and I use a powder puff, or those cushion puff (for better application). I purchased it like 3 years ago and I still have it (I have 3/4 left). MY FAVORITE
15:46 for big lipped girlies like myself, try this! i’ve been doing it for as long as i can remember and it doesn’t necessarily make my lips smaller (so don’t worry about that) (obviously they can depending on how you apply the lipstick and concealer) they just get a really cute shape and it looks sooo good!
A really easy beginner product is multi cubes. I've been using the i'm meme multi cube in color 'All about juicy peach' every day. The colors are muted, except for the one glitter, and the blush included will also match the look. Also, when buying foundation and concealer, look for products that are formulated for your skin type. If you have mostly oily skin, buying products with oil won't apply well.
This is so so so helpful! I've wanted to get into makeup because I love it as an artform, but I've always been a bit overwhelmed with what products to buy. But I want to mention that you should always wear sunscreen!
This is extremely helpful. I’ve been planning on having my first makeup kit since I was in 9th grade, but I kinda got confused over all these stuff and my mom doesn’t really support me wearing makeup to school so I couldn’t ask anyone for help at all. HOWEVER I’ll be in my senior year in a month, I GOTTA STEP MY GAME AHHHH
Tysm for this video!! This is a coincidence!! literally like recently i started getting interest in makeup and since then I was looking for so many info of how to use makeup like for 2 days and I finally knew the way makeup works + the tools needed 😢😭😭, i feel bad for not receiving this video earlier cause I would have earned less time in research but still I still appreciate and love this video!!! Tyyy again dear peachie❤️💌
i love these type of videos. even though I don`t use a lot of makeup, I prefer investing in some really quality stuff that doesn`t break me out. my fav foundation for my dry sensitive skin is hands down Guerlain Parure Gold. It doesn`t look cakey but looks so nice on you AND doesn`t break you out. I think investing in skincare, sunscreen, foundation, blush and a concealer to suit your skin is what`s really important. Eyeshadows, eyebrow stuff and lipsticks are more or less not so important. I think anything you put on your skin-skin is what will make a difference.
Great channel, always breaks things down! Can you please do a video that focuses on bone structure and specific contour/highlight techniques for different effects?
Wow, I've been doing makeup for about two(ish) years now and I didn't even know about the primer thing! Following pores and waiting, I would just put foundation on right after. This is really helpful, thank you!
I love your channel, it has been so helpful ❤ im in my mid twenties and always struggled with makeup, always thought makeup looks bad on me (I’m from Latin America so y’all know the makeup styles in here are strong looking) I tried to recreate them and I felt I looked awful in them, so I just stopped trying and never wore makeup but since I found your channel I’ve gain courage to star trying makeup but one that suits my face and the natural soft warm vibe that I want to achieve, you’re a life saver to say the least, otherwise I would be stuck just trying to recreate these Latina makeup that does not suit my face 🤧
I like to use Elf glo Sunscreen. But you can all foundation to any sunscreen or buy tinted sunscreen that's is easy breezy. The Elf grip primer works really well. You don't need much to look polished. ColourPop blush in stick... Essence Mascara and a nice Eyebrow pencil for brows. Brown liner is for everyday. Gloss or lip tint. I use a nice powder and Elf setting spray. You can use ColourPop eyeshadow single color for center of eyelid. Great video 🍃🌸
@@Makingthemarks you could but, if you want to keep your skin damage free (so you can use less makeup hiding sun damage in the future and keep your skin healthy), take care of your skin now and use both. Sunscreen then primer (or two in one if thats your thing)
Always use sunscreen!!! Especially if you are pale, and even more so if your skin is extremely pale. Sun damage sucks! You can also use primer to blur pores ❤
As a teenager it's quite hard to start doing make-up especially when u have acne and dark spots l always been so insecure about my skin whether makeup is for me Or not? What if I messed up? But watching videos knowing about it makes me realize I should try...l love ur videos. I decided to buy a kit and know more about it!
Budget setting power recommendation: Elf Halo Glow. It’s my HG powder-the perfect natural-looking satin finish, buildable coverage, and a “soft focus” effect that actually works, all for a small fraction of the price of the fancy powders.
I know this video is old, but my everyday makeup consists of super basic stuff: sunscreen, foundation, concealer, pressed powder, nude eyeshadow, brow pencil, mascara and blush. That's all I use on most days and I think it's a good little kit for beginners (i am certainly NOT a beginner). Primer is always a luxury and not necessary in my opinion, especially if you have a good skincare routine. Loose powder is also terrible for beginners because it gets everywhere and in the wrong hands (ie. beginner hands) ends up looking cakey. I feel like contouring and highlighting is also not a necessity for a beginner, just start with the basics first, then get into more intermediate to advanced techniques.
I really love this video and its format, its easy to understand and you arent throwing random makeup terminology in my face that ive never heard of, but i wish you could help us understand what types of makeup to pick, for example if you are going for such and such of a look, or your skin type is a certain way, then you should pick a certain foundation formula. i still don't understand what foundation i should pick😭
Now that I graduated highschool , I can wear and buy makeup, I don't know anything about makeup or how to do my makeup , so this channel is really helpful, thank you ❤️😭
Thanks so much for this video!! I always thought u can apply foundation and primer however u want to, but this video made me realize the importance of your base!! I'm new to makeup and I want to experiment more on different looks, especially douyin makeup!!❤
my tips: your eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick/lipcream/liptint need to be color coordinate or else it would look messy for eyeshadow, just buy quad or 6-shade eyeshadow because at least it's guaranteed you will use all of the shades. also sometime wear base color + some glitter/shimmer is already more than enough for blush: depending on your preference, skintone, and undertone. you can match it to the eyeshadow or lips. if you can use your lip product to become your blush, it's a safer choice since your cheek and lips will be (kinda) in the same color. it won't look out of place for lips: depending on your preference, skintone, and undertone. just remember that your lips will affect the color of the lips product itself so don't be disappointed if the color is different. it happens a lot. but personally, red or nude color is much a safer choice rather than brown, pink, coral, orange, or mauve. you can also wear those color without makeup but remember not all red is warm tone and sometimes nude color will make you look sick
I'd like to do makeup, but I hate having foundation on my face. Even compact powder. But I love the other stuff. I had eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick. Those are the only thing I'm comfortable with
ahhh this video was so helpful! I was thinking of buying some makeup for the first time with my mom today and I think I have a basic idea of what to get now! The comments were super helpful too 😊
I love this video!!!! I purchased a lot of items recommended from here and im really excited to try them out. Are you considering making a video about the different makeup brushes? that would also be super helpful too, i've never worn makeup before and I have no idea what brushes to get.
Finally, a video for us make-up beginners from this channel to guide us on what to buy, use, and do with make-up that actually makes sense. I really love your videos because it actually helps me on what to do to make myself look and feel better ♥️
question, are these products light? What I mean by light is, good for most skin types? I have sensitive skin which is why I'm having a hard time finding good products that won't irritate my skin, I currently stick with Tarte, I'm not sure how my skin will react with these brands.
i don’t know about the products in the video, but neutrogena, bareminerals and clinque are known to have some good foundations for sensitive skin. hope this helps
I started the video but what seemed to be an ad for adobe played. Like a normal person, I let it end but it didn't do anything once it ended. It just showed that it was the end of the video. I stood looking at the screen for 10 seconds until I looked at the comments to see if it was just a troll video or something. All the comments are comments you would see on a makeup video. So I thought: maybe the comments are trolling me too. No. I reloaded my page and was given the video I was expecting in the first place. Minutes later, I still can't tell if I'm an idiot or if my computer made me seem like one.
dear peachie i always love your content!! really helped me to become a better version of me! May I ask? which is better..contour powder, stick, concealer, or cream concealer?? ?Would you recommend the brand too?? That will be very helpful thank you!!
The Lorac loose setting powder is gorgeous. Top shelf. But at the drugstore the Wet n Wild loose Photofocus powders and the Revlon Colorstay pressed setting powders are great.
I would like to ask a question, what do I apply first? I want to use both sunscreen and primer to make sure my skin is protected and will have good base for my makeup.
15:06 I'm confused by this, if the contour blush is applied in the dotted space, then does actual contour get applied in the dark semi-circle below? Or is brightening blush applied in the dotted lines and contour blush applied in the dark semi-circle?
for the diamond shape i think the contouring blush is place high on the cheekbones in the dotted space, to soften the angular appearance, while the actual contour is softly blended below.
You DONT need to use 2 fingers of sunscreen, its a myth, it varies between other sunscreens, if using too much will make you not use sunscreen at all - use less, Yes, it is better to use too much than too little. But too little is better than none Sorry for my bad english
Where was this when I started out! I have a makeup box full of makeup from trail and error and a lot of which was gifts but most of the gifts don't even match my complexion!
Hi! Before I answer, I just wanted to let you know that I'm also a beginner, but I've understood several things about make up during my last months of learning (and I still remember how I started!) So if you've never touched/buyed make up before (like I was), I think you should try buying: 1. moisturizer (& sunscreen) 2. compact powder 3. lip color/gloss first because those are basics and you can't go wrong even though your application technique is still rough. After that you can go out and compare your friend's make up with yours and then try to improve your make up with new advanced products to solve your make up problem. Also: 1. Always remember to wash your face with facial wash before make up 2. Instead of buying makeup online, try buying it directly from a store and asking employees for makeup recommendations for your skin tone 3. Products such as moisturizers and sunscreens come in a wide variety (try to find a brand that suits your skin type so that your makeup won't ruined easily)
@@thisisaine6072 are eye concealers etc necessary? Or primer n stuff for the face compact? Will the face compact not stay for long without primers? Also my major doubt is about sunnscreen reapplication,,you have to re apply after 2-3hrs right? So how do we go about that after we’ve worn make up? Also tyms for the info earlier,it really narrowed the list down so I will try to get some!
Tbh as someone who is very beginner to makeup and just starting to delve into more of the detail I'd just say to stick with a mascara and some kind of lip product on top of your usual skin routine. It's super low maintenance but also isn't completely unnoticeable. That way you can slowly start implementing other products like concealer and blush when you feel ready to. Also it's the best for the skin and for everyday use imo
Hey guys I just turned as a teenager and my friends are telling me to buy make up so we all can look pretty, actually before they became my besties they were already wearing make up they always looked so pretty. Since I was new to their Circle they gave me a makeover, when I go to class first thing they’ll do to me is braid my hair and put make up on my face. I agreed, cuz I was embarrassed that I look so plain and unclean.. They put foundation blushes and anything I was surprised that It made me prettier and that I am the same as them now. We are all turning in 8th grade and they suggested to me to buy make up and watch some tutorials😅 They gave me names of brands to buy on, on the other side wearing make up kinda feel heavy and pricey. I want to fit in so yeah Im here now watching these kind of videos. Hoping you guys can help me on buying brands of make up and that’s all ty. Im filipina nice to meet you❤
Rather than buying lots of makeup, better invest in best ones.
@@katelynnlee5158 ofc it depends on your style too :) if you have a good technique, applying same or even darker shade won't be a problem
these are very good tips, thank you for sharing. i’m new to makeup and this comment is very helpful 😭
agree, but only thing i disagree with is “one shade lighter than your hair”. this doesn’t and wouldn’t really work for people who have black eyebrow hairs

this came at the right time. i've been planning on buying makeup now that i'm 20. it's basically a new decade of my life and i want to start it off by learning new things and getting back into old hobbies that i love. one of them is doing makeup, which i must admit that i failed at multiple times but now that channels like these exist, i will finally learn how to properly do it. i'm basically in my lim jugyeong era, lmao

Lim jugyeong?? Who is that?? Thanks
Great video, very helpful! But it's important to apply the appropriate amount of sunscreen even if you're also wearing primer, you should just wait a few minutes between applying sunscreen and primer and you're good to go :)
does sunscreen go before primer?
@@mica7063 yes. Sunscreen is the last step in a skincare routine. And primer is the first step in a makeup routine (if you start with your complexion instead of your eye makeup for example) Hope it helps 🤗
@@Smilegirl622 thank you!
@@mica7063 yes, sunscreen first, then primer
@@ameerasparkle5019 thank you :)
3:10 also you don’t need to wear foundation, you could just jump to concealer right away for a more natural look.
Yes! Especially if you're a beginner. If you must, cushion or BB cream is better for starter, as they're lighter and easier to apply. The key is blending. Applying base makeup from center and work your way to outer.
@@yoon9521 what if you have acne scars?
@@susanx6782 try concealer, but if you're going to sth formal maybe you can use foundie. However, covering acne with makeup all the time isn't good.
makeup starter kit for myself :
1. primer : oil controlling or pore blurring(pea size amt)
# don't rub or smudge, just apply it in outer single direction
# let it set for few mins before moving on others
2. Foundation : sheer liquid or cusion compacts or full cover formula (cushion or bb cream better for beginner)
# apply at the center of ur face then blend out from center to outer region
# should have thick layer on the inner & thin at the out region (creats contouring effect)
# apply & blend out foundation by section & move to another
3. liquid concealer : match with foundation shade
4. base setting : loose powder or setting spray
# loose powder with powder puff
# remove excess powder before applying
# for matte look : settings spray - loose powder
# for dewy look: loose powder - settings spray
5: Brows : brows powder
# comb out brows before filling them in
6: Eye-shadow
# matte colour pallet with neutral or earthy tones with shimmers mixed
7. eyeliner : eyeliner pencil
8. mascara
9. Contour & matte highlight
tips :
# avoid matte products
# lip gloss > lipstick
# use least foundation on nose & forehead
# use oil based primer for oil base foundation & water base primer for water base
Hello I'm a newbie in makeup but I've less blemishes on my face to should I go for conceler and BB cream or foundation, I also have dark Circle , so please give me ur suggestions
Oiga muchas gracias ❤️
i know im late but if u want a more natural look then go for bb cream, i used to use cc cream which is heavier (looks less natural) i didnt need to use concealer with it its basically foundation but with sunscreen & primer added to save time ❤️
Thank you for this! ❤❤
It would be great if you guys could make a newbie guide to all the different types of makeup brushes! They can vary so much in size and shape 😳
fr
Honestly. I only have two brushes. One is big for contouring and blush while one is small for eyeshadow. I have no knowledge about makeup brushes but this is what works for me lol
Agreed! I need a makeup brushes guide! 😭
YESS ID BE AMAZING 🤭🤭😭😩🤍🤍
I've always been hesitant to buy makeup products despite wanting to wear makeup because I don't know what I exactly need and what's good for me. This video gave me more confidence to explore and buy makeup products and gave advice I need to know beforehand. Thank you for this guide
For beginners I highly recommend not using matte products because its hard to control especially for lipstick. Just use lip gloss until you really comfortable. Gel eyeliner is waste of money if you're not used to it so just use your eyebrow pencil to draw your eyeliner. You can also use your eyebrow pencil for contouring.
Thanks
I didn't know this but is it okay if I do matte lipstick? I used it before and I believe it looks very good on my lips, my mom have a matte lipstick and one of the shade fits me perfectly. Please enlighten me cause maybe it really isn't that good. (I have small knowledge of make up)
@@decayingsun5915 yeaa of course gurl u can if it fit and doesn't make your lips look uncomfortable or flaky peeling
I like lip tints they are more transfer proof without getting clumped in lip creases like matte lipsticks.
I've noticed that foundation looks super cakey on my forehead
Same
Glad someone said this
please this is needed
as a tip, whatever colours they recommend go for the more saturated version EG. IF the say light pink blush, buy a hot pink one and also conceal with a lighter shade before applying
Just a list for what I need
1 sunscreen
Liquid concealer for my dark circles
Hearth tone eyeshadow
Highlight looks cool
Blushes both contouring and expanding
I started using makeup since 2017 but I still consider myself a novice. Since I mostly used base, eye products and lips, I knew I still have a lot to learn. Thank you for this video!
This is really helpful 😊
I am a 16-year-old looking to get into make up, but with no one to teach me
my mother was never into make up so there was no opportunity to learn from her
i really like buying and using makeup, but i try to keep my selection of products small and simple. you’d be surprised at how little you need.
it’s tempting to buy every product you like the look of, especially when you see people with those massive makeup collections.. but trust me, its WAY more cost-effective to only buy things when u need them or when you run out of things. makeup has expiry dates and if you have too many products, you won’t be able to use all of them while they’re still nice.
i’m really happy with my selection because it covers everything i need while not being huge. this is what i recommend.
*eyeshadows*
i have one WARM neutrals palette which consists of tan, chesnut, orangey-red and rich brown shades. then i have one COOL neutrals palette which has taupe, grey and muted brown shades. finally i have one colourful palette, it has 16 rainbow shades and is perfect for when i want a to have bit of fun.
*other eye products*
i own one eyebrow pencil with a little spoolie on the end, one dark brown eyeliner and one mascara. that’s honestly all i need.
*face products*
one cushion foundation, one cream concealer, and one translucent setting powder. i don’t use primer because good skincare prep will do the same job.
i don’t own any highlighters as each of my eyeshadow palettes contains a few shimmer shades which work as highlighters. i also don’t own any blushes, you’ll see why when i explain my lip products.
*lip products*
for natural glowy looks, i own a few tinted lip balms - two stick balms which have a slight dewy finish, and two ones in squeeze tubes which are super glossy.
for matte lips, i have two matte blurring lip tints. one vibrant coral red for warm toned looks, and one rosy mauve for cool toned looks. these also leave a lasting stain, which is nice.
the final lip products i own work perfectly as blushes - two soft matte liquid lipsticks, in a natural peachy rose and in a fresh pure pink.
i don’t end up using the soft matte liquid lipsticks as lipsticks as the shades are a little too light for my lips. so, instead of wasting them, i repurposed them as blushes and they work nicely. the trick is to blend them out with my concealer.
okayyy well that’s all lol, i hope someone reads this and find it helpful
I found this really helpful, thank you soo much!! 💕💕
state the products plss
hello which affordable eyeshadow palette would you recommend?
Mixing techniques from different styles is cool too, especially if a certain style doesn't compliment you completely (i say this while not really doing this LMAO jk i do this but more unconciously)
Edit: OH and to my fellow teens, you don't always have to do a full look. Just some blemish covering and color (like blush and lip gloss) is already a good start :)
Never ever skip sunscreen! Sunscreen everyday on face and body even you’re staying inside. Sun damage is scarier and harder to fix than you think. Start using sunscreen as soon as you can.
My first ever makeup kit were a small red-ish brown pallette, one matte foundation (that, admittedly, was a shade too dark), one mascara (this mascara is my favourite to this day, but it was discontinued so I'm suffering trying to find the same brush+formula combination) and one liquid eyeliner
They served me very well until I had the money to spend on other items!
My first foundation was a disaster too 😂.but current one is my fav .funny part is it's only 7dollar .you really dont need expensive stuff
can we just appreciate how informative and aesthetic at the same time this channel is 💖
When it comes to primer and foundation;
Make sure to use a oil based primer if your foundation is oiled based and water based if your foundation is water based (check the ingredients at the back, the first one says aqua ?
Thanks for this video, it's really useful and informative! Just a small thing- 6:13 Kiko is actually an italian brand
Nice!!! Perfect for our back to school 🥰🥰
Just want to tell you that Kiko is not a Japanese brand, but an Italian one. It is just popular in Japan.
Why do you gotta step up your game
ahh omg i hope it all worked out for u!! i’m a junior with no makeup experience myself, but i’m hoping i can get the hang of things over the summer

This made me realize I'm not a beginner anymore :)
I really wished this video existe when I was still a beginner. I’m happy to see that some people won’t have to struggle as much as me :)
this is so helpful! please, if you can, also do a video on reapplying sunscreen on top of makeup!

I'm still young and beginner at make up and i really love every single one of your videos. They are very helpful! Thanks for amazing videos
I highly agree about splurging on a good foundation. I got Dior body & face foundation and I love how it looks on my skin & its staying power.
AHHH I wish I waited to see this before buying things… thank you!
Great video 🍃🌸
sunscreen shouldn’t be optional!! is very important to apply it :)
Can I use sunscreen in replacement of primer?
@@Makingthemarks you could but, if you want to keep your skin damage free (so you can use less makeup hiding sun damage in the future and keep your skin healthy), take care of your skin now and use both. Sunscreen then primer (or two in one if thats your thing)
At 6:15 Kiko is not a Japanese brand but an Italian one 🐥 so if you plan on visiting Italy you know what to do
this video is so helpful! i love how it gets straight to the point and is easy to follow
I don’t spend the most on Foundation, but I do spend the most in concealer, for me it works.

NYX brow pencil included in the video, Anastasia clear brow gel, Burt’s Bees tinted lip balm, and Winky Lux tinted lip oil are my ride or dies :)
my tips: your eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick/lipcream/liptint need to be color coordinate or else it would look messy
for eyeshadow, just buy quad or 6-shade eyeshadow because at least it's guaranteed you will use all of the shades. also sometime wear base color + some glitter/shimmer is already more than enough
for blush: depending on your preference, skintone, and undertone. you can match it to the eyeshadow or lips. if you can use your lip product to become your blush, it's a safer choice since your cheek and lips will be (kinda) in the same color. it won't look out of place
for lips: depending on your preference, skintone, and undertone. just remember that your lips will affect the color of the lips product itself so don't be disappointed if the color is different. it happens a lot. but personally, red or nude color is much a safer choice rather than brown, pink, coral, orange, or mauve. you can also wear those color without makeup but remember not all red is warm tone and sometimes nude color will make you look sick
love this
I'd like to do makeup, but I hate having foundation on my face.

This is such a helpful and informative channel. I loooove your videos soooo much!! I really appreciate your work put into each of your videos..
question, are these products light? What I mean by light is, good for most skin types? I have sensitive skin which is why I'm having a hard time finding good products that won't irritate my skin, I currently stick with Tarte, I'm not sure how my skin will react with these brands.
i don’t know about the products in the video, but neutrogena, bareminerals and clinque are known to have some good foundations for sensitive skin. hope this helps
my basic affordable products are from Maybelline, Elf, etude house, 3ce, peripera products.
I have so many makeup kit. But truly I just wore spf, really good lipstick, and my favorite powder
I love u. Thank u for helping beginners like us 💕
Loved this! Can you please do a video about skincare?
Absolutely loved this video! But I think i'm speaking for a lot of us when I say, WE NEED A K-BEAUTY/J-BEAUTY VERSION!! PLEASEE
Dropping in to say Kiko's an Italian Brand! I Love Kiko LOL
For the Too Cool for School contour, is the modern or classic one recommended?
dear peachie i always love your content!! really helped me to become a better version of me! May I ask? which is better..contour powder, stick, concealer, or cream concealer?? ?Would you recommend the brand too?? That will be very helpful thank you!!
The Lorac loose setting powder is gorgeous. Top shelf. But at the drugstore the Wet n Wild loose Photofocus powders and the Revlon Colorstay pressed setting powders are great.
7:20 sorry but this part is so funny especially rosie 😂
Use always sunscreen! Unless you are gonna make a photo shooting than you can skip it but still use a hat or something like that
WHO IS BEHIND DEAR PEACHIE IS SUCH A MOTHER
I would like to ask a question, what do I apply first? I want to use both sunscreen and primer to make sure my skin is protected and will have good base for my makeup.
sunscreen first then primer! sunscreen should be the last step of your skincare and the first step of your make up ❤
I've been trying make up for over a year now and still have trouble finding products (especially as a student on a budget) so I love this video
@@ulamme thank you!!
You DONT need to use 2 fingers of sunscreen, its a myth, it varies between other sunscreens, if using too much will make you not use sunscreen at all - use less,
Yes, it is better to use too much than too little. But too little is better than none
Sorry for my bad english
What really?! I thought I had to have that much!
Also your english is great!
Where was this when I started out! I have a makeup box full of makeup from trail and error and a lot of which was gifts but most of the gifts don't even match my complexion!
I would love to see more about matte highlighter! I can’t find any examples online.
I love your videos! Thank you for taking the time to post! 🥰
hi hi , what make up products should a complete beginner who has never touched make up buy? Are all of these necessary for a pure beginner ?
Hi! Before I answer, I just wanted to let you know that I'm also a beginner, but I've understood several things about make up during my last months of learning (and I still remember how I started!)
So if you've never touched/buyed make up before (like I was), I think you should try buying:
1. moisturizer (& sunscreen)
2. compact powder
3. lip color/gloss
first because those are basics and you can't go wrong even though your application technique is still rough.
After that you can go out and compare your friend's make up with yours and then try to improve your make up with new advanced products to solve your make up problem.
Also:
1. Always remember to wash your face with facial wash before make up
2. Instead of buying makeup online, try buying it directly from a store and asking employees for makeup recommendations for your skin tone
We are all turning in 8th grade and they suggested to me to buy make up and watch some tutorials😅
They gave me names of brands to buy on, on the other side wearing make up kinda feel heavy and pricey. I want to fit in so yeah Im here now watching these kind of videos.
Hoping you guys can help me on buying brands of make up and that’s all ty.
Im filipina nice to meet you❤
i suggest blk, vice cosmetics, happy skin, ever belina, gwrm, maybelline
Love the opening jingle☺️
