5:23 Jwittz, it's obvious, this is how Toads are born, and as Royalty, it's Peach's duty to watch over them as a caring and loving figure. "What is alchemy?" It's the science of understanding deconstructing and reconstructing matter. However, it is not an all-powerful art. It is impossible to create something out of nothing. If one wishes to obtain something, something of equal value must be given. This is the law of equivalent exchange, the basis of all alchemy. In accordance with this law, there is a taboo among alchemists: human transmutation is strictly forbidden. But what could equal the value of a human soul...?
I can't believe this video is three years old, I've been wondering about this product since I was three. I have ZERO idea what happened to it, but I do recall having too many cards for the box made to store them.
It's an archosaur with its hips structured so that its leg stick out directly underneath it....it's probably much more complex than that, but that's the general idea.
That is the happiest I have ever seen Ridley! I love to see any of those ironic artworks of the villain characters as cute and the good guys as creepily evil.
Thank God I'm following you on Twitter, or else I'd never have seen this in my feed. Anyway, Another hilarious video about something I never knew existed. It kinda reminds me of Mario is Missing, but without the funky gameplay, silly world-traipsing, and meme-Luigi.
I did, a long time ago. But you know how... picky... UA-cam can be when it comes to ACTUALLY notifying people of new videos from people they're following.
You know, I always pictured the Mushroom Kingdom as the happiest place on Earth. A place without any cares or concerns, where you can play golf even with your biggest enemies or invite them to your kart race. But the implication that the Holocaust happened in the happy-go-lucky Mario universe is simply unsettling to me.
4:25 Well, obviously not all countries, but Australia has some time zones that are 1.5 hours ahead of the others. And certain countries follow DST at different times of the year. So it's not as far out as one would think. ~ TDG

The "which dinosaur could fly" card is strange because on one hand it's really clever and correctly teaches kids that pterodactyls aren't dinosaurs, but on the other hand the idea that no dinosaurs could fly is outdated now considering the closer links between birds and dinosaurs discovered over the years
rattyeely Fun fact: this means the one of the fastest living animals to ever live on earth is a Dinosaur that can fly, whose main food source is other dinosaurs that can also fly
At best they are a close relative but not an actual dinosaur since they contradict at least several things about reptiles like being warm blooded an d having a four chambered heart.
This and the Pokemon board games are the best kind of content you've ever made, Jwittz. I really love the obscure Nintendo stuff like this, and it really seems to get you excited to talk. Keep it up.
You've been working on your delivery and editing haven't you? Your content has always been witty, informative, fun (I could go on), but particularly this episode and the F-Zero episode have a different kind of flavour. A more comedic change of pace. All this to say, great work, and I hope you're having as much fun making these as we are watching.
That was an experience!!! Also, as big dinosaur person, it is so refreshing to hear someone realize that not every ancient reptile was a dinosaur. Curse you toys!!!! I must admit, some of the topics they had on these cards were, wow! The 90's were awesome: they wouldn't let kids know about any of that today...
Holy crap I remember those! I used to trace the pictures of Mario in various poses and outfits onto paper to make my own scenarios. I vividly remember one that showed Mario in medieval armor kneeling before Peach, it was my favorite card because I just liked how Mario in armor looked. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Wow! I was gonna call out that "flying dinosaur" one as a trick question since pterodactyls aren't actually dinosaurs, but the game beat me to it! I am legitimately surprised that something from the nineties got that one right, because even today that doesn't seem to be very common knowledge.
My sister had all the Horrible History cards back in the day. you had a starter pack then with every magazine you bought you got more cards but never the same ones as the ones you already had, so was really easy to complete the set. after the first couple of issues, the shop would stop selling them and you had to get them via subscription/ order online. around the time my sister moved out, my dad auctioned of the collection on eBay, and it gathered a huge interest. the winner was some guy from Germany who bid over £300 for the set. WOW!
What's funny is that technically there *ARE* flying dinosaurs, although that could just be the fact that we didn't really know birds were theropods until later on.
Birds are not dinosaurs are they related to them in some ways yes but since they contradict what is a reptile like being warm blooded and having a four chambered heart at best birds as a close relative but not close enough to be an actual dinosaur.
JOSH! As a kid, I owned Mario is Missing, but 6 or 7 year old me wasn't old enough to read and understand the game (nor did I think a MARIO game would be like that as a kid). Clearly, you don't have kids watching "Dinosaur Train" on PBS. This show follows an entire family of pterodactyls, and they have entire episodes dedicated to beating the fact that pterodactyls are NOT actual dinosaurs into your head, despite the fact that the title and entire premise of the show is about learning about dinosaurs who ride on trains for no apparent reason.
And somehow this show about talking dinosaurs and other prehistoric reptiles that live at exactly the same time is STILL somehow more scientifically accurate than a lot of the professional documentaries....which is amazing.

5:14 You know, that's actually true. Pterodactyls were not dinosaurs.
But then, what IS a dinosaur exactly? GOOGLE TIME!!!
It's an archosaur with its hips structured so that its leg stick out directly underneath it....it's probably much more complex than that, but that's the general idea.
It's true, but also completely false, because dinosaurs CAN fly.
We call them birds.
Dinosaurs and pterosaurs were both archosaurs.
Plesiosaurs are also not dinosaurs

Newfoundland is also on the half hour.
Maybe those little thin mushroms are baby Toads o3o
Or magic mushrooms judging by Peach's face...
Look like Super Mishrooms that haven't finished growing if you ask me.
Mario has not only traveled the whole world, but knows about the traditions of every religion as well
Which leads to one thing, HALAL MARIO IS REAL
Mario's *DANK* history lessons.

1:02 But little goomba is taller than regular goomba.
They hadn't come up with the "Galoomba" name yet.
Personally, I think they should have called the SMW Goomba "Round Goomba."
Little Goomba had a spurt like Tiny Kong did.
And he stuck to his ironic nickname.
And then there's Chunky
He's dead.
The parakoopa is called a paragoomba and no one seems to care
Basilgames X oh wow your right, I guess I just processed it in my mind as saying koopa instead of goomba

2:11 *”Mario negotiating an arms deal Mario. Okay maybe not.”*
3:26 Nah Mario's looking in like he's super confused and trying to figure out what's going on.
2:29 It's always the eyes. The only thing that can make anything five times more terrifying is a soul piercing gaze.
0:02 Huh, It’s like Finding Nemo.
Or like Finding Dory.
I like it when you show us cool nintendo and specifically Pokemon stuff
4:57 Although heavily outdated (given the nature of these cards), that Spinosaurus art looks really nice.
I love how you continue to find weird nintendo things to share with us
