If there is one thing that Dale Jr learned from him is that: The winner is not the one with the fastest car, it's the one who refuses to lose

Just imagine Jr winning the season championship and said "This is for my dad.". Think how emotional it would be.

Dale Jr, I was a fan of your Dad's since 85 and yours after I met you at your Dad's dealership in the late 90's ! Your Dad was a one of a kind racer and will be the best on the Nascar tracks forever ! You may have never won a Nascar championship but in the eyes of many, mine included, you are also a true Champion, especially in life ! Thank you for all you did in Nascar to please your fans and to preserve your Dad's legacy ! Love Dale E and Dale Jr. forever and always !

Obviously you haven't heard of Fireball Roberts his death was so shattering to other drivers that their was a rash of top ten drivers that simply retired because of his death. Drivers that was consistently winning races because of the impact Fireballs death had on the sport. Dale Earnhardt was a great man and driver but I have to say every Nascar driver that has ever died in a race car has equally darkened NASCAR'S days.

I remember most at Daytona when our friend went down by the fence the cars blew by and his hat came off he went to go get and as he was putting it on he turn around and the cars blew by and his hat went flying of his head again. My brother Burke got the tickets who passed away. At Daytona they have a tunnel that goes underneath the track. Dales limo was driving him out he looked right and smiled that's one of the closet memorys I have with Dale. Amazing man living his American dream in style. Love ya all.

Don't have to worry about Sr. being forgotten. He Royalty. He's the Eddie Van Halen of 4 wheels and a steering wheel. EVERYONE was crushed when he was taken. Even his die hard haters. Reality was that he wasn't hated, he was respected. People were just mad that he regularly kicked the schitt out of their NASCAR idols, and they knew he put the excitement in the sport. To me, he's Hotel California, the greatest rock n roll song with the greatest guitar solo ever written. King Richard, or whoever is considered a close rival is Stairway To Heaven, the second greatest rock n roll song ever written.

I miss him but what I really miss is the fact that he probably would have been a commentator. That would have been awesome. I don't even watch Nascar today but if he was calling the races like DW did all those years then chances are I would still be watching.

I remember that night, my friend calling. He never cussed, he yells turn the fucking news on. I turn it in on and all I see is Dale Earnhardt 1951-2001. I don't remember anything after that.
