    I was never afraid of clowns and actually find them quite beautiful, especially older ones. It's nice being able to find a video about clowns that's not all spooky and scary. At the end of the day, they're just normal people with makeup on and a well-functioning funny bone. 🎪

    I personally knew Micheal Polakovs who was known as COCO The Clown. He was inducted Into the Clown Hall Of Fame, & saw his display in this video . He was my cousin's grandfather, so I knew him very well . He designed the Ronald McDonald's makeup , & attire as people knows him today ,he also played Ronald McDonald In the 1st 5 nationally aired commercials for McDonald's as Ronald McDonald In the makeup & attire known today . Michael's wife Hazel still owns the original Ronald McDonald outfit MIchael passed away in 2009. He was with Ringling Brothers circus for many many years

      Frank Dalton Coco was one of the very first clowns I had ever heard about from my dad. I used to love watching old clips of him and hearing stories about times my dad saw him as a kid. By far one of my all time favorites!

    There's a wonderful point to all this- clowns are just people with jobs underneath all that makeup. Stinks that people have, over time, come to misunderstand them so much.

    I had a clown duo come to my elementary school once and explain clowning. It was very interesting to see them perform and them explain their art and the work that goes into it. This brought back memories.

    Creepy clowns can be terrifying, even moreso than Milton Berle in drag, but this clownly presentation was quite entertaining & didn't weird me out at all. A nice break from poor, dead, stuffed woodland creatures & broken-spirited circus animals. I loved the costumes, great colors, & the big goofy shoes esp. As a child, I was an avid watcher of "The Red Skelton Show," the quintessential cuddly-sad hobo-clown u just couldn't help but love - so funny, w/such talent - an all-around great guy & amazing performer - much more preferable to me than those evil, threatening, pumpkin-smashing bully clowns popping up on ppl's security cams all over the place last fall - those I would run from if I ever saw 'em clomping dn my street! I still can't believe u went to that abandoned lair last yr in search of the kid-scaring renegade clown posse all by yrself!

    I had a doll when I was a kid my mom picked up at a flea market that was the hobo type clown. It even had a 4 o'clock shadow with a cigar stub sticking out it's mouth. It looked very old. I use to chase my nefew around with it .He was terrified of it. Such fond memories. That ed Sullivan skit was funny. Those poor dogs tho. So that's where the term slap stick comedy came from. Cool upload

    I am a clown, when I'm not a zombie, I have total respect for the actual circus arts and I incorporate as much of the traditional routines into my act as I can when working the queue lines at the attraction I work at. Admittedly, my character borders a bit on the creepy side.

    Clowns really, really freak me out.
    London has an odd relationship with clowns - there's an annual service in a church in the Hackney area where they commemorate the father of clowning, Joseph Grimaldi, and you can actually visit his tomb which is in an unassuming city park a mile or so away in Islington. I've been to both even though they scare me to death!

    What where those heads used for!!!???!

    • @CosplayCore
      @CosplayCore 7 років тому +1

      As a Disney nerd (if you mean the Disney heads), I'm willing to vote there may be a chance those were used at the original Disneyland attraction, Dumbo's Circus. There used to be a real circus right by where the Flying Dumbos are that operated several times a day and it's rumored it sometimes featured Disney characters. But that's all I can come up with. The only other Disney stage show that may have required something like that that I know of was the Icecapades and their masks didn't look like that.

    • @beeblbob
      @beeblbob 6 років тому

      Bo88y Beretta Most masks were used for costumes, not really for preforming, if you were a clown that was for decoration not for talking and everything you usually wear a costume and the masks.

    I had a character hobo clown porcelain doll as a kid. I never thought it was weird or creepy, it wasn't till I grew up and started having sleep over that friend started telling me that both clowns and porcelain dolls are creepy 🤷‍♀️ I had a couple of classic girly girl porcelain dolls, a bride who was my second favorite, a classic clown and my hobo clown. Hobo clown still makes me smile whenever I remember him.
