    It's very nice to have 3 phase on a brewzilla. I have a PV system and like the idea that I brew beer with solar power. Not so easy with the 65l on one phase. Hope it's available in Europe soon.

    Kee,
    Thanks for all of the video content you produce . . . but, PLEASE, for the older folks amongst
    the current Brewzilla owners . . . we need a dedicated video outlining, step by step, how
    to program the controller and sync it properly with our phones or pads.
    Now, I know you're going to say . . . "Hey, there are instructions provided in the manual that
    outline the process . . . any 10 year-old could do it!" Well, all that might be true. In fact, a
    10 year-old could likely program a rocket to the moon and back . . . but those of us in our
    60's and 70's who are still active brewers and now new to the electric brewing movement
    need help deciphering what is 'second nature' to those 40 and under who grew up with
    this technology.
    Anyway, if you could shoehorn in another video in what I know is a very busy schedule . . .
    the older brewers out here would GREATLY appreciate it!
    Thanks,
    Angry Dutchman

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  Рік тому +2

      Hey Andry Dutchman. When you say sync with your phones or pads what do you mean? With your phone or tablet it's best do townload the RAPT app and then when you log into the app you can see the devices live on the screen. You can also use a web browser to open up the app.rapt.io website and this works too but the app helps the website render into the phone screen a little better.
      If I can better understand the bit you are getting stuck on we can more easily make a video showing how to solve the issue for you.

    So wort/mash pickup point is in the centre of the vessel? Any impact or pickup of trub matter at the start of a knockout after whirlpooling?
    Edit - watching again, perhaps the heat exchanger solid plate and a pumped whirlpool (as oppose to manually whirlpooling with a spoon or example) negates the trub pickup potential and helps form a nice cone

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  Рік тому

      I would not be concerned about this. I have used the brewery a lot and do not bother with whirlpool at all. I do recirculate for the last 5min of the boil and also while using the chiller and the pump protection screen blocks a lot of stuff and I get very clear wort at the end. The wort pickup is at the bottom dead center of the brewery.

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  Рік тому

      It would probably be very similar. I think you would save power doing one 100L batch rather than 2 x 50L batches. The power saving would probably be in the relm of 1-2kwh over a whole brew day so we are only talking about saving maybe $0.50 at most. The main benefit would be the time saving.

    Just had my first brew day with this thing yesterday, 2 batches back to back, around 90l finish volume. I like most things on it, but lifting the malt pipe is something that really needs to be considered, its not easy. Had a lot of trouble with the circulation arm pipe restricting the flow. A big bur inside the tube was catching any single piece of grain. I ended up putting a silicone hose on the outlet valve, back up to the top to get through the brew day.

      Single phase is cheaper. Most properties don't have 3 phase, so putting in a 32 amp power point is much cheaper than getting 3 phase wired in from the street. Also power companies often charge a premium for 3 phase. If you don't need more than 7 kw or want to run 3 phase motors, stick with single.

    • @KegLand
      @KegLand  Рік тому +3

      Hey Ben. The reality is Keg King do manufacture a small number of fermenter tanks in Australia. These tanks are made with:
      PET resin imported from China
      The lid, neck ring, dump valve and stainless steel posts are all manufactured in China
      The welded stainless wire frame is made in China
      The majority of the machine and production line was made in China
      Even the cardboard boxes are imported from China
      KegLand has it's own fermenter blow moulding station in China and we also employ about 30 staff in China too. Given all the raw materials and parts for these fermenters come from China it's just more logistically efficient to manufacture in China. Also KegLand sells way more fermenters than Keg King especially overseas. As a result of the large numbers of fermenters sold in America, Europe, South America, Canada etc. It's also more efficient to manufacture in China as we cannot export directly from Melbourne port to these other overseas destinations. If we make a product in Australia we have to ship the product normally via Asia to get to these other countries anyway thus making us even less efficient for overseas sales.
