It's cute how people have knitted scarves for the kappa statues. When I was in Enoshima there were tiny bird statues, and people had knitted hats for them! :-)
your train ride there totally reminded me of the train trips i took when i went all over Japan with a college group for a month. we went on shinkansen and then on local trains to small villages a few times. the small town trains are so quaint!
Sharla you should do a collaboration with Simon and Martina!! They recently moved to Japan from South Korea!! :) Oh and love the videos keep it up!!! :)
Tono seems like a really neat place, I just love that relaxed atmosphere that you can feel through the video. Can't wait to see what you filmed there. Btw, loved your jacket, really suits you.
I enjoyed your video. My Wife and I were just in Yokohama the past two weeks and enjoyed our stay there. We rode the JR Line and Keikyu lines but never traveled on the Shinkansen. Maybe next time!
So cool that you are in Roger Swan's old stomping grounds. Haven't heard the name Hanamaki since his videos. Hope you have a great time there. Those kappa were SUPER creepy! That food looked awesome. Nothing beats a good izakaya.
You are such an inspiration for me! I just started my own channel and I know it's because of many UA-camrs I did it, including you! I already filmed a UA-camrs favorites and I couldn't leave you out..! Always enjoying your vids :) xx
tono seems like such a cute little city omg. plus the station looks amazing, and i would absolutely love to go fishing for kappa haha. i've been fascinated by the kappa mythology since i was 8 years old lol
+Liam Trumbore The boxes are meant to be souvenirs actually. There's all kinds of different designs. Some are fancy like that, some are quirky and shaped like different things.
So cool to see both vids on UA-cam of the same trip to Iwate :) Because of the TV-guy you may become a celebrity! Will we be able to see the interview in any way or form on UA-cam as well?
Yo! Thanks for posting these Sharla. I am so not your demographic but I am a college student studying Japanese and now my biggest dream is to get to Japan in 2017! Arigatoo gosaimasu!!
It's rare to see you not giving your thoughts about the bento while eating 😅. well i guess it was yummy just like you said right before eating .still loving your videos 😄
Can you please do a video explaining the "train emoji" , why there are so many etc. I have a very good feeling it is directly related to the Shinkansen.
Looks like it'll be a fun trip! I have a question, when you ride the shinkansen, are there any signs in English/Romanji in the train and on the platform? I noticed the departure sign was mostly Japanese. Thanks!
You'd never get trains that small and rural in Ireland. Quite a bit of Ireland was railway(ised?) by the British however they have fallen in ruin or are non used. The tracks connecting the major cities+towns get used alot. All trains in Ireland are nationalised. Much better. If the Intercity from Galway to Dublin is under pressure, they can use Commuter trains as they are all ran by Iarnód Éireann (Irish Rail)
Sharla- Can you tell me how much a three hour shinkansen journey costs? I don't want to pry, but I've been told that japanese trains are rather pricey... Beautiful bento!
It was pretty cool to hear and see English on the trains. Kind of gives me hope that if/when I ever make it to Japan, I'll be able to understand a little! Also, now I can't see trains in Japan without thinking of Ressha Sentai ToQGer. :-p
Really enjoyed this vlog, you should go out of Tokyo more (Probably is not easy or cheap, I know), travel vlogging is the best. If you are allowed, I think would be cool if you can explain a little more about the TV show stuff, is for national TV?.
Hey Sharla, I just wanted an opinion on something. If I were to ever visit Japan (hope to some day soon), is it better to visit the country side or the big city? I know that there is more to do in the city but the country side scenery and peacefulness seems like a nice thing to see. Is there some place where you can get a little of both?
Okay I just frantically scrolled through the comments and nobody else is worried that you're going fishing for demons so I guess it's fine have fun fishing for demons Sharla PS Can you please put in your will before you go fishing for demons that ClosetWarrior from UA-cam is to receive 1 of your duplicate Pokemon figures that would be great
Wowww I can't believe how much food they fit into that bento! *~* yay loving your hair colour too Sharla! ^-^ Was it fine for you to talk in the shinkansen though?
Hahaha, normally my son doesn't like what I watch on UA-cam, but he loved this video because of the trains ;) those kappa are really creepy, the ones from kappabasi are cute haha 😂
now was that bento box wood or just plastic? either way, that was the fanciest one I've ever seen. Then again...I was cheap and went with the cheapest option I saw :3
It was a bit surprise that a small countryside town got a big decent hotel like that, especially judging with the size of the station. I wonder who usually stay there??
Iwate Prefecture (岩手県 Iwate-ken?) is a prefecture of Japan. It is located in the Tōhoku region of Honshu island and contains the island's easternmost point.[2] The capital is Morioka.[3] Iwate has the lowest population density of any prefecture outside Hokkaido. Famous attractions include the Buddhist temples of Hiraizumi, including Chūson-ji and Mōtsū-ji with their treasures, Fujiwara no Sato, a movie lot and theme park in Esashi Ward, Oshu City, Tenshochi, a park in Kitakami City known for its big, old cherry trees and Morioka Castle in Morioka City.
Hey +Sharla's Life :) If you don't mind, I liked to ask a question you might be able to answer. On the destination board at the train station, under that word next departure and train there were two words, Ka Sa Ma and Ya Ma He Ko. ( I hope I translated correct, I only recently started with Kanji ). What does this mean ? They are not towns, are they ? Does trains / shinkansen in Japan have their own like names ? like the " Sharla-train " to Tokyo or so ? --I love your videos and you are such a charming person :) greetz from Germany.
Hey Sharla! Do people recognize you on the streets of Tokyo? Like do people know your UA-cam channel when you go to the busy areas of Japan? I know you're not an idol or anything ( I can't say anything myself, I'm a potato) but to have a TV crew film your daily life means that you're something alright! By the way I love your scarf and I love your vids. Thx ^~^
I wish we could see the tv show they're filming you for! So excited for the upcoming vlogs.
It's cute how people have knitted scarves for the kappa statues. When I was in Enoshima there were tiny bird statues, and people had knitted hats for them! :-)
This reminded me of the scene in Spirited Away!
Wow that town looks adorable! Can't wait to see more!
your train ride there totally reminded me of the train trips i took when i went all over Japan with a college group for a month. we went on shinkansen and then on local trains to small villages a few times. the small town trains are so quaint!
What a cool trip! Thank you for taking all of us along : D
Can you teach us a phrase or Japanese word in every video? That would be fun :)
I think that'd be so cool!
oooo gurl I like the way you think!
I agree..
great suggestion!! :)
Sharla you should do a collaboration with Simon and Martina!! They recently moved to Japan from South Korea!! :)
Oh and love the videos keep it up!!! :)
+Luq Shah I second this!!!
Yes!!! Simon and Martina!!!!

Yay new video! I love where you were staying. I just really liked how peaceful it looked 😂😍
I enjoyed your video. My Wife and I were just in Yokohama the past two weeks and enjoyed our stay there. We rode the JR Line and Keikyu lines but never traveled on the Shinkansen. Maybe next time!

I love it when you do vlogs where we get to see the scenery of Japan! :3
thanks for the video sharla can't wait to see the interview
Haruyama station was so cute! I could see my elder self as building a cottage just near there and living the rest of my days fishing! :D
Sharla, you must have been so cold there. You really need to find a warm jacket. Love these "day in my life" videos.
It's so rural, I love it ☺️
You are such an inspiration for me! I just started my own channel and I know it's because of many UA-camrs I did it, including you! I already filmed a UA-camrs favorites and I couldn't leave you out..! Always enjoying your vids :) xx
can you do a everday updated makeup routine! Your makeup looks great :)

*Gasp* I was in Iwate Prefecture about an month and a half ago under the Kakehashi project. Everything was amazing, especially the shinkansen!
Great vlog, Sharla! Thanks for bringing us along with you. :)
I would end up being a hoarder if all bento boxes were that nice. It just would seem like a waste to throw it away
ikr
+Liam Trumbore The boxes are meant to be souvenirs actually. There's all kinds of different designs. Some are fancy like that, some are quirky and shaped like different things.
+Liam Trumbore Ya, I was wondering if you have to return the box
Exciting episode, thanks for sharing!
Mmm mochi, I tried green tea flavored mochi ice cream for the first time yesterday and it was delicious!
Oh dear the trainstation on your way to Tono is straight out of "Spirited Away", even the train :)

Yo! Thanks for posting these Sharla. I am so not your demographic but I am a college student studying Japanese and now my biggest dream is to get to Japan in 2017! Arigatoo gosaimasu!!

If you ever get anymore headaches, my suggestion is to get some Ibuprofen or something similar to that. It helps the headaches go away!

Yay travel vlogs! I love your jacket :)
Wow, if i lived in Japan i wouldn't mind living in that town so peaceful and beautiful :o
oh thats so cool how they have the kapa statues with scarves on.. would be cool if they had a plate of cucumbers in front of them on the ground lol.
Kappas were the inspiration behind the pokémon Golduck. ^-^
Also, that bento looked amazing ! °o°
That's really fancy yummy lunch box!
Sharla, you should do a meet up/ collaboration with Abipop, including other friends like Mimei, Shine, The anime man, Rachel & Jun and others :D
Just watched your channel for the first time. Was interesting. Also nice looking jacket :)
It's rare to see you not giving your thoughts about the bento while eating 😅. well i guess it was yummy just like you said right before eating .still loving your videos 😄
Your TV shoot sounds awesome! I hope it goes well :) congrats on all your success! xo
Can you please do a video explaining the "train emoji" , why there are so many etc. I have a very good feeling it is directly related to the Shinkansen.

Am I the only one who was distracted by the cute little girl's voice in the scene where Sharla was eating her bento rice on the Shinkansen? 2:23
お疲れ様です!私も昨日テレビカメラにインタビューされたんですけど、カメラの前で緊張しすぎて全然うまく喋れませんでした笑!シャーラさん凄いです!あと可愛いです笑
Woohoo another vlog!
We bought the same drink before riding the shinkansen lol! I've been to japan once last november/december btw :D

i spent a year in Iwate for school and boy gosh is this making me miss it haha
Hey sharla!
You should really visit Sendai, I'm from there!
Sharla- Can you tell me how much a three hour shinkansen journey costs? I don't want to pry, but I've been told that japanese trains are rather pricey... Beautiful bento!
I LOVE U SHARLAA!!!
It was pretty cool to hear and see English on the trains. Kind of gives me hope that if/when I ever make it to Japan, I'll be able to understand a little!
Also, now I can't see trains in Japan without thinking of Ressha Sentai ToQGer. :-p

PS Can you please put in your will before you go fishing for demons that ClosetWarrior from UA-cam is to receive 1 of your duplicate Pokemon figures that would be great

either way, that was the fanciest one I've ever seen. Then again...I was cheap and went with the cheapest option I saw :3
Sharla you are amazingly awesome!!
Hey Sharla, I was wondering if you have been playing any good games recently?
It was a bit surprise that a small countryside town got a big decent hotel like that, especially judging with the size of the station. I wonder who usually stay there??
That soba looked yummy!

I hope we get to see the TV segment the people were making someday
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing
It's kinda sad but I think I could watch a video of the whole train ride from that window. So beautiful and interesting ☺️
+Saint Mikhael Just realized I sound like Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory lol

I'm glad I'm not alone haha. It's just so pretty.
I so wanna take a trip! I've never been to Iwate. T__T Looks amazing from the train ride!

I swear Japan is the best when it comes to packaging...
Comparing to NY where I live here is like world apart. Lol
wow that city was very blue looking.. was it because of the window?? either way i like it ^_^
Hey Sharla! I love your vlogs, what kind of camera do you use?
Sounds like a cool trip, which show was it that featured you?
Hey Sharla! Do people recognize you on the streets of Tokyo? Like do people know your UA-cam channel when you go to the busy areas of Japan? Try riding a Evagenlion Shinkansen.
You have to make a reservation though.
