Fantastic product! I supervised my 17 year old son install this in under an hour going step by step with this video. Factory quality (probably better), excellent fit and finish, and I liked that Vagabond utilized the factory parts without cutting and splicing. Perfect addition to my 2017 Ninja 650 ABS.
Watched this and ordered the product. Saw it go from San Diego to Bell Gardens to Santa Fe Springs to LA to Tokyo and finally to Melbourne Aust. It arrived today and so I rewatched the video and it is done. Easiest install video to watch and follow and the fender eliminator is a great product. LOVE IT!!!!
I accidentally found this video just after doing all this job in my bike. Very instructive, very objective and professional. A little bit long, but still good. I add a little hint for extracting that last screw that holds the fender, by extracting other two 8mm bolts in the front (under the driver seat), and then slide back a little bit the big black plastic part, allowing you to use the phillips screw driver in an easier way to release the fender. Thank you.
Wow, what a great video. So clean and clear about every single detail. Getting my plasma blue 2018 in a few days and think this is going to be a gimme.
Great product. I highly recommend this fender eliminator. I got same day shipping for free from amazon and installed it today on my 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650. Quick and simple installation. Thanks Vegabond Motosports.
Installed on my 2019 ninja 650 ABS, perfect fit. Really clean look. Super easy install. Highly recommend over these other $100+ fender eliminator kits. Installation time was about 45 minutes but that’s because it was my first time ever working on a motorcycle so I kept pausing and playing this video. Could very easily be a 30 minute or less install
QUICK-STAR I love it, it’s very comfortable to ride. And very easy to maneuver. Only thing I don’t like is you can’t use a ram mount for your phone in the fork stem because it’s not a round hole it’s a hexagon hole. But I’ve found an adapter that works perfectly with it to mount my phone I can send you the link if you’d like. Overall it’s a great bike in my opinion
2018 Ninja 650. Excellent look, very easy to install. I took my time and only took 30 min. The look is excellent, compared to other (over $100 products) I think this is better quality and design for a better price. Keep it up Vegabond!!! Very happy customer here.
Thank God! Someone finally making a tail tidy that doesn't involve cutting the factory harness! IMO the weakest link. So many people don't seal the connectors properly and down the road it leads to stator and rectifier failure. Plus most kits use thinner gauge wire which alters the resistance, which leads to said problems.
For anyone looking for 2021 model. Everything fits. The only issue is on 19:45 when he feeds the cables trough the whole which is a must. No way around it. The cable connecters are to big. The hole is small. What i did grabbed a drill and a twist drill bit and I made the hole bigger. It is hidden so can’t see unless you stick your head between the tail light and tire. Other than that everything is like the video. Love how it looks now.
Wow what a great step by step hands down the best I’ve seen on UA-cam for explaining anything. Great camera work as I was able to see everything you did. I might not be able to do this because ordering givi side cases and top case for touring. I don’t think it will fit where the signals land. Suggestions as I hate that original fender? I guess my only questions why oh why do manufacturers make these beautiful machines with extremely ugly useless fenders. Why don’t these come out of production like this?
Thank you! This video made the whole process seamless. Definitely would recommend this well made product to anyone out there that is looking for a fender eliminator kit.
Installed on my 2020 Z650 today. Had to modify it and open up the center hole with a dremel because the turn signal connectors on the 2020 are much larger. Otherwise it’s great, huge improvement.
Despite being 4-years old, this video is still VERY helpful. One thing I'd like to see is how to deal with the electrical if you want to use your own licence plate light and signals. My 2021 Ninja 650 model has these electrical plastic connector-doo-hickeys and I have NO idea how to work around them. Do I need to buy new electrical plastic connector-doo-hickeys? In the meantime, I followed the video and replaced my fender using the stock lights. Thank you for this great video!
Installation was SUPER simple. Watched the video once, ordered it instantly, waited 3 days, 2hrs to install it (without the video help and talking to a neighbor) I got it done! Very pleased and started speaking to my customers about Vagabond's products (I work in a Motorsports Dealership). One question... will you guys be making frame sliders/clutch and break levers? I'd really like to order some from you guys, you have my business!
Were you able to get this to work with a 2020 model? If so, Did you have to make some sort of modification to this kit? I’m looking to get a kit for my 2020 but can’t seem to find that doesn’t have this problem.
I actually kinda like this one better than the R&G one, although the r&g has a rubber thingy where the cables pass through from the plate to the inside the bike which kinda makes it resistente do water/mud.
I have a 2022 ninja 650 ABS and the square hole in the product that you feed the 3 wires through is too small for my connectors. I guess on the 2022’s they used fatter wire connectors? Not a big deal, I used a Dremel and bored out the hole to be roughly 30% bigger and fed them through and you obviously can’t see it when installed on the bike. But if you’re reading this and you own a 2022 650 ABS you won’t be able to feed your connectors through unless you do what I did. To the company, I suggest making that cutout in your product maybe 40% bigger so the new connectors Kawasaki seems to be using will fit through. But all in all a GREAT product and it looks AMAZING on my bike!!! And this video was an awesome step by step video as well.
Hi DW, thank you for the detailed comment and bringing this up. We have ordered a set of the newer OEM lights and will update the design to better accommodate the newer models.
Wow what a great step by step hands down the best I’ve seen on UA-cam for explaining anything. Great camera work as I was able to see everything you did. Almost perfect. In some places, the side reflectors are a requirement. If a version of these would be able to incorporate them then it would 100% legal. (Assuming the need for a rear fender is not a legal requirement in itself) Also very surprised that the fender is all plastic on the 650. The Z400 has a metal sub frame and appears more substantial.
Hi, looks good and easy to fit, one question about water spray and muck, does the reduction in cover from the rear of the bike mean that more dirt is sprayed up the riders back in bad weather, I plan to ride my 2018 Z650 all year round.
I wish I would have seen this video 3 days ago but I didnt and I did something stupid and spliced the wires...now of course my flashers dont work at all but my plate light still works. Any suggestions on how to get them back working?
For what ever reason I’m having issues putting that 4mm Allen head key bolt back to but the side fenders back together. That’s literally the last part for me🙄
I agree. The 2020 Ninja 650 has larger connectors and will not fit through the access hole. Grinding the hole larger was not easy either as the aluminum was very tough. Very nice unit otherwise.
Looks real cool but in Spain you`ll get a 200€ fine or not even be able to pass a technical revision for riding with this and let me explain why. This design has no reflector and you could have managed to make room for the original one that you removed from the original fender. And the second reason would be that on a motorcycle which has no back fender, the license plate support has to do the job, meaning that it has to cover the wheel. You could install the fender eliminator but you´ll have to install a fender too, considering that you manage to include a reflector somehow. And finally it has to be officially approved (homologation). Probably you would sell a lot more in Europe if you will managed to fulfill these requirements.
One of the best "step by step" videos ever made. Very good, very clean. Kind regards from Portugal 😉

Installed this badboy last night on a 19 z650 - fookin' tail light rubber grommit was the hardest part. Now it looks fabulous.
Thank goodness for this video! Couldn't have done it without it, that small hidden screw had us baffled! Thanks guys!!
This a great and well thought out video, made switching my stock fender with your guys' super easy!
Followed it step by step and it could not have been any clearer! Awesome Job!
Wow, what a great video. So clean and clear about every single detail. Getting my plasma blue 2018 in a few days and think this is going to be a gimme.
Just followed this video. Took me about an hour. Very simple. Thank you
I’m OCD! Get that little piece of plastic out from under the seat! Haha great video. Very informative.
I followed all of your steps... Thank you very much Nike💯
Great product. I highly recommend this fender eliminator. I got same day shipping for free from amazon and installed it today on my 2017 Kawasaki Ninja 650. Quick and simple installation. Thanks Vegabond Motosports.
Thank you!! Just installed mine and it looks SO much better!! This video walked me through the whole thing! THANKS!
I installed mine on my z650 and fits really well! Easy video tutorial to follow
The best step by step instructional video clip. Thank you so much!!!
Wow. Incredibly thorough video. I'll definitely be buying this kit from you guys when I'm ready for my Ninja 650!
Great quality product and fairly simple installation. Thank you for this video!
This video worked flawless on my new 2022 Ninja 650. Thanks so much for the detailed guide ❤️

A big thank you for the Step by step video ! Without experience I resolve it on my own.

Very neat instructions. I just installed and it looks beautiful. Thank you
Bought it right after watching the video. Watched it one more time and installed in less than an hour without any problem. Thanks, Great item btw (Y)
Done. Super easy, and looks waaaaaay better. Straight up just follow the video. It's literally easier than expected.
Glad to hear it! Thank you for your business!
Big Thank you for this video, made the job very easy!
Best tutorial on UA-cam

best video ive seen. amazing step by step.
Great video and nice product. Will be ordering one soon.
Amazing video
Bike looks pretty cool

Installed it today, all was perfect thank you ! Ordered on Amazon in Germany =)
Great! Thank you so much for your business!
Good in depth video but I prefer clear and short instructional videos. Would definitely purchase this product.
this guy is amazing!

Thanks for the comment! We will not be making any more parts for this motorcycle.
Great video.
This was super helpful! I love the kit, but the hole for the wires needs to be bigger for the 2020 model, since they changed the turn signal plugs.
Were you able to get this to work with a 2020 model? If so, Did you have to make some sort of modification to this kit? I’m looking to get a kit for my 2020 but can’t seem to find that doesn’t have this problem.
Junior C. Yes. Just had to make the hole slightly bigger for the larger plugs. Other than that, everything else worked perfect and looks awesome!
@Looby yeah. Used a Dremel and made it a bit bigger.
To add a note here, this was true but we have revised our design to work without modification on the newer models
You'd think that bike manufacturers would have learned that this is the way to go straight out the factory by now...
DOT and other equivalents require that ungodly contraption on the back of the bike from the mfg, health & safety and all.
@@micahpalmer3537 Just goes to prove once again that DOT and equivalents are idiots as far as what the public want and need from their products.
Got mine on order for a 17 z650.

Thanks a lot !! :)
Do you notice in some way the fender eliminator kit? Like with dirt in your back, or in sound, or something I can't imagine?
You should have some screws left over right? Just double checking I didn’t hear it in the video (more then the screws that held the old fender up)
Where can we find the flasher relay for z650 .... i have to replace it cuz i have installed a led trun signals plz help...im not able to find it.
Will this fit my 2023 ninja 650 now that the turn signals are LED from factory?
will this fender eliminator keep away the water and dirt from our back?
Do you know if the kawasaki under seat u lock will still fit under seat with this tail tidy fitted ?
That is the best looking one I've seen so far! Would they fit Australian plates?
Our fender eliminators are absolutely compatible with Aussie Plates :)
I wish I would have seen this video 3 days ago but I didnt and I did something stupid and spliced the wires...now of course my flashers dont work at all but my plate light still works. Any suggestions on how to get them back working?
This video is for a 2017 Kawasaki 650 would that fender eliminator work on a 2014 Kawasaki as well ??
Can we still use the back top case with this mode?
For what ever reason I’m having issues putting that 4mm Allen head key bolt back to but the side fenders back together. That’s literally the last part for me🙄
Will you guys be making one for the 2017 Kawasaki Z900?
yes! It is currently out of stock, but will be back in stock June 28th. You can order now from our website. www.vagabondmotorsports.com
Can you use aftermarket indicators with these?
Will this fit my Ninja EX650 2018?? If so, where can I order this? Will buy it ASAP if it fits.
For that one screw, you can get a ratchet attaching a Phillip bit and access it through the back. Simple.
Do you ship to Canada?
Will these be back in stock eventually?
Love the product except that I had to drill the square space to run the wires thru on top to fit the connectors on my 2020 model

Whats the name of this exact kit? I bought another one and my blinkers dont fit :/
What`s the weight vs the old one?
Is this good for the 2018 model ?
I need to order mine
Do you make one for a 2016 ninja 650?
Do these work on Uk bikes to? not sure if our plates or fittings are different.
Yes, our fender eliminators fit UK plates. You may notice that where the plate mounts has space to accommodate a variety of different license plates.
Do I have to buy the LED separated??
Does it fit in a 2020 Kawasaki 650 abs ?
You guys should make one for the 2017 Z900. This one may work, not sure. I do know I need a fender eliminator.
it is in the works!
How about 2017 z1000 one ?
i need fender elimanator for my kasawaki ninja 400 how can i order vegabond.
Will this fit the 2020 ninja 650?
When are you releasing this fender eliminatore for 2022 Ninja 650?
This part will also work on the Ninja 650 model
Do you ship to Viet Nam? And how can I buy this ?
im from uk , where can i buy it from ? thank you
cant seem to find it on Amazon Canada, and not 100% sure it will go on the 2020 ninja 650 i just bought... lil help? lol
it won't. the hole at the top is too small for the new 2020 plugs. kemimoto has one with a bigger hole on the top that I just ordered.

Coaja20 the original tail has 3 red deflectors. One from each side.
How can i buy this in europe? any dealer here?

Alejandro Ruiz yes, it is!
Thanks!!
Do you know if the installation of this kit is legal in Spain, also you said the size will fit Spanish plates, right?
What are the sizes? In milimeters please...
donde se pueden comprar??
You are missing the red reflectors that were originally on the fender. I think it's against the the law to remove those.
