I know exactly how it feel to be felt sorry for my ‘disability’. I’m autistic and everyone thinks that I’m stupid or a burden on my family or just the result of bad parenting which just isn’t true.
Also when Jazzy and her friend made that comment about how sorry they feel for hearing people... I feel the exact same way with nerotypicals “you aren’t autistic, poor you”

Cody Anonymous I totally agree no one should be label as disabled many people have Technology that can help them hear such as hearing aids or coach implants which can help them hear everyone has difficulty’s and things they are insecure about some are better at hiding it but we are all the same and all have things to hide. Next time anyone thinks to label someone with that think twice how would that make them feel? Welcome

I feel the same way about my autism. Of course, there is anxiety that can come with it, and that's not easy to deal with, but it's not this horrible tragedy either. I'm sorry that people have said those awful things to you, and you're definitely not a burden.

My brother is deaf, so I have had to witness & listen to mean comments directed at him. I am hearing, but that has never affected out relationship or communication. In fact, as our parents have told us, my brother taught me some sign language before I could talk. I have never and will never understand why people waste their time & energy on hating when it's so much easier to ask questions, learn, listen, and above all else ... be respectful.

But i very much appreciate the fact that you put closed captioning in your videos because I do not know sign language, but I would never expect you to talk while signing. What are the cultural (i.e. deaf culture vs hearing culture) implications of these choices? I'd be very interested in a video about the different ways in which deaf culture can 'clash' with hearing culture - for example certain choices parents of deaf children need to make that can by some people be seen a 'appeasing' one 'side' or the other - and your thoughts on the subject.

Disability isn't a bad thing. it literally just means you have different needs, but that also means you have different gifts. also social model of disability, society creates 90% of the barriers and the attudies of what you should do creates the other 10% of issues.

@@askialuna7717 Hi, everyone has the same needs yes. So I guess it would be more accurate to say different things people need help with and different things you can give to the world. I also believe that the value of the person does not come from anything a person does just form existing. Everyone has different experiences and different things they find hard. also one persons pain does not get rid of your own or anyone else's, like someone starving does not change what your experiencing. it might give you perspective but it does change it and does't take away from it either.

some of the comments, maybe arent strictly hate comments, but just pure ignorant. When people don't understand deaf culture, they tend to say things that aren't meant to be offensive, but still come across that way because they don't know the right way to say what they mean, does that make sense?
The only question/statement that kinda made me think- wow, did you really say that? Was about getting your voice fixed by the doctor.
I'm hard of hearing and I have a speech impediment and for years I was teased about my voice because of the way I spoke. Now, however, it doesn't bother me that much because I learned to live with it and it's part of who I am. I could go to the doctor and get speech therapy, but then I'm not suffering or in any pain from my voice being different so why should I get it "fixed"?

Jazzy, I hope you aren’t too offended by people saying that your videos remind them of ASMR, I don’t think those comments are usually meant to be hateful! ASMR is something that many people enjoy, so they must enjoy your videos too. 😊 Love you and hello to Benny!

I'm not deaf, and I don't even know anyone who is deaf, but I still enjoy watching your videos (with subtitles) because they are interesting and I get to see a different view I wouldn't normally see :) good luck!!

Jazzy i love you because you don't give up even though people might say mean things. I know a bit of sign language because people i know have disabilites but it's good to be different.

Hey commenting before I watch, the title of this vid is awesome, I love your attitude in all of your videos and your attempt to truly educate people.......I would love videos from you teaching basic signs(if you haven't already done that, lol.....I'll check) I've always wanted to learn sign language but it's a difficult commitment when you don't need it in your day to day life. Keep teaching, and remember everybody, deafness is a beautiful gift and ability, such a rare perspective of this world

I can lip read accents, I'm deaf.....the way people mouth words in different accents is very different.

I kinda relate to some of these with being autistic people sometimes think I'm a little broken or they feel sorry for me it's very degrading but its just something that makes me myself.
I love watching videos from deaf UA-camrs I want to learn bsl to help communicate with customers at my work if they are hard of hearing etc its amazing watching you and others communicate x

Deaf person here from USA! Those negative comments are stupid but funny at same time.
But I can see what someone's comment mean by how they can tell your mouth moves like you are from England. I noticed that Deaf British and Deaf Americans' lip patterns are actually different. It is interesting!
I would love to watch the part 2 where you guys react to positive comments! We do need more positiveness around :)
