I am over 80 years old and never visited the Carpathian as I did not Ukraine. This great video has learned me how peaceful life could be so rich of beautiful culture, nature, people, and traditions. It is such a contrast to the news I am watching daily sitting in my easy chair in the Netherlands about the terrible war that is going on in Ukraine. Every day I hope for good news about the heroic patriots defending their country to the aggression of the Russia soldiers. The talking hands of Maria showed me the world of the Carpathians. I wish her and the team a safe journey and Slava Ukraini…!

i bet ZERO air raid sirens in 4 days. I was in the Carpathians for a few days in May 2024 and it felt i. some ways a world apart from the war, a place of surpassing beauty and peace. There were many reminders of the war- a funeral procession in Yaremche, many soldiers getting a break from the front, a trauma surgeon we met while hiking. I hope I can return and seek out these particular special spots you took us to in this video! thank you for making this. It was wonderful. i didn’t want it to finish. i loved the dancers. and the trout! and the cheese horses!

Wonderful video of the region my parents were born and like today, they had to leave because of WW2. Both survived and eventually immigrated to the US. They lived close to the Polish border in a small village that no longer exists. Love the cheese horses and the vyshyvanka designs are similar to the one my mother made for me (I still have it although it's a bit tight fitting now). Watching you fish was hilarious. We'll make a country girl out of you yet. I've visited Kyiv but didn't have time to see the Carpathians. Now I must visit! Also, the last piece of music I remember my dad playing on his violin. As for the air raid sirens, I would guess maybe 12? Thank you for a beautiful video of my roots. Slava Ukraini. Take care.Taras from the US.

The people were fantastic, really friendly, and if you had a problem they would go out of their way to help you, even though they had very little themselves. Great video, Masha! I would say 16 air raid sirens -4 per day- (because I think they turn on 'by default' quite usually when Russian aircrafts that take off could strike Ukrainian territory potentially anywhere...) This video reminded me of the nearby region of Poland (Bieszczady mountains) that I visited in 2007: the landscape, the houses... in that trip I made short visit to Lviv, but not South to the Ukrainian Carphatian region. I've been thinking of visiting this area for some time for vacation (I like hiking, nature...), so this way supporting Ukraine choosing this destination. I think what can be more scary for a foreign visitor during the war (yes, I'm not Ukrainian although my nickname on UA-cam, I just made some donations) is the transit big cities (Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk...) while going to the more rural areas in Zakarpattia, as they can be (and have been) objective of deadly missiles. I know that once you're there you can be 'almost' as safe as any other country. But of course during the war this is definitely 'not for everybody' and it's understandable, but after the war I hope this area (and the rest of Ukraine) will recover also with international tourism. Слава Україні! Героям слава! 💛💙

Such a beautiful film, in so many ways. Thank you for making this. (I'll guess two air raid sirens...) I live in the Pacific Northwest region of the U.S., and one of the things that stood out for me in your film was the richness of the cultures. That is very rare here, as the blending of many cultures has resulted in little, if any, recognizable tradition. Your film was so fine to see, and thanks again for using your talents to show the world how beautiful life can be.

I love this series. I was in the Carpathians in May 2024 and I didn't see any of the places Maria visited, apart from Kosiv Market. I have to go back for sure. While I was there, I remember 1 air alarm near Ivano Frankivsk. So I'll say perhaps 1 alarm, although it wouldn't surprise me if there were none.

“Separated from your roots” is an exacting expression. A young person will generate new roots when replanted but that phantom pain never goes away.. it stays with you under the surface 💔

Thank you very much for not doing too much voice-over in English, I don't mind reading subtitles and hear the people's voices. I missed this a bit in the first episode.

I am guessing 11 air raid sirens, at least. I am so glad that you shared this video! The Carpathians are beautiful I have yet to see them in Ukraine, although I have gotten to volunteer in Ukraine twice this year. I hope to visit, and enjoy those breathtakingly beautiful views!

Greetings from the South Oregon Pacific Coast and the beautiful mountains of Oregon USA! Because I met a wonderful young couple from Kyiv on the internet, I have learned so much about the beautiful country of Ukraine, and because they are avid snowboarders along with their friends, I have had an introduction to the Carpathians, and now this. So wonderful!

Dare to Ukraine is such a nice Name.. It gets to really feel connected.
😊❤❤❤❤🎉 Rich culture, and so Divine. Nice dress with that crown. Emotional. And with a real hope for Future. 😊❤❤❤

If you would like to meet an incredibly diverse Ukrainian culture, come to Canada. Especially the prairies, my Great Grandparents moved here from Ukraine and lived in a soddie (a sod home, like made out of dirt) until the 1960s!!!! Amazing people here, with so many cool stories.

This place reminds me so much of the mountain areas where I'm from. Vermont USA! I've always wanted to visit Ukraine. Very beautiful culture. Hopefully you didn't have sirens go off at all when you were in the Carpathians but I'm guessing you heard them at least once. Great video!! Slava Ukraine!!
