Kikaider was so good. I was surprised the anime adding a lot more to the mystery of Kikaider's creation such as the meeting mom episode. The detective was also better utilized. I felt the Bat could have become a major main villain if he stuck around more.
Yeah the Bat android is really interesting, there is another Kikiader manga called Kikaider 02 but can't seem to find it anywhere
The world and it's people need more anime and manga like this if you ask me.
Don’t forget that Inazuman was in two Toku crossover movies...
Kamen Rider Fourze and Wizard
Kamen Rider x Super Sentai x Space Sheriff Superhero Taisen Z
I didn't knew Kikaider before, but I'm really interested now! I will also check out Inazuman too.

I grew up with the Tokusatsu kikaider series in Hawaii, almost everyone in the day knew exactly who that was, it was like Marvel popular
I remember checking information on Ishinimori's work and apparently there was another manga Ishinimori did that came before Inazuman that featured a young kid with esper abilities named Saburo.
Inazuman sort of reminds me of the Riders from Kamen Rider Kabuto, going from a cacoon-like form to a primary battle form.
As a Mega man fan, I cant help but think about just how much influence kikaider had on that series. Joel and X are mirror counterparts in their respective series. The hole rival doctor thing, Bass’ role and color scheme being similar to Hakaider etc.
I checked both of them out and I gotta say Shotaro deserves more recognition here in the States for his work. He was somewhat indirectly responsible for Power Rangers becuase it was adapted from Super Sentai thanks to Saban.
He really does the man was an absolute legend when it came to sci-fi and super heroes, gotta check some of his more fantasy and mystery work soon too
There's a ton of Power Rangers gatekeepers in the US, and that's always going to keep the good stuff down, I think.
@@kevinalford What do you mean?
Hey Mr.FalconPunch, I don't know if you know this already but I thought I'd tell since you might be interested; The character Mutant Sabu from the manga of the same name (also written by Shotaro) was the inspiration Saburo Kazeta and the Inazuman manga. Their character design is very similar and they both have special powers. The difference between inazuman and Mutant Sabu is that Sabu fights against criminals and terrorist.
A few years back, there was a crossover 3 parter OVA -Cyborg 009 vs Devilman which at least both works crossed paths. A bit short and fast paced but at least the circle is complete between Ishinomori and Go Nagai...
I started reading the inazuman manga and I think I will finish it since it seems to be very interesting. I also have seen a few episodes of kikaider the animation and so far I guess it's okay but I'm a bit alienated by the fact that a human is in love with a robot, but I guess I shouldn't really care about that since it's nothing deal breaking.
I watch Cyborg 009 so I was really amazed to find out about shotaro's other works.
Thanks for the great recommendations.
I only seen the toku series and it pretty ok and now im going to read the manga
Man kikaider the animation and especially 01 is dark as hell. I honestly didn't expect that ending. And finished reading inazuman today, that was good stuff.
From how you described the plot of Inazuman, it sounds familiar in some elements to the plot of Mob Psycho 100. Maybe a possible inspiration? Who knows.
Ok, now i have to read kikaider and inazuman.
If you do watch the Inazuman Toku I recommended episode 12 shotaro ishinomori himself directed That episode. also sabu is a character shotaro likes to use he first showed up up in a manga called mutant sabu in can read online and from there he shows up in shotaro's other works something with the youth league they showed up in a manga called Shounen Doumei. It's like what Osamu Tezuka dose with his characters.
I'm actually reading Mutant Sabu right now (plan to do more Ishinomori videos soon), really interesting to hear he directed an episode of Inazuman, now that is really interesting!
I watched Saban's VR Troopers on Netflix it was from the makers of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
And I'm grown into a Kikaider Fan.
Seven Seas should license these two series next.
I watched Android Kikaider ep1 on Toei's tokusatsu world official channel
And I watched Cyborg 009 on toonmai when I was a kid.
Kikaider's Tokusatsu was how I became familiar with it because it was exclusive to Hawaii
Prof. Gill? Like Warz and Ackdos Gill from Gokaiger?
Wow, Kikaider and Inazuman have a shared stint in anime?
Hakaider was like if Jodorowsky did a tokukatsu
Suprised of no mention of Inzuman's reboot appearance in the Fourze and Wizard movie. Funny enough the Fourze series rebooted a lot of Ishinomori Toku heroes.
When do we get a video about Kaiketsu Zubatto!?
inazuman vs mob from mob psycho 100 would be awesome
Coming of Sage's scathing review of the anime, I'm surprised you liked it.
Bennett is a hack. Making shitty jokes at the expense of the anime he's "reviewing".
Can you review Lady Snowblood?
I actually have in the past along a manga recommendation too!
I don't know if you noticed, but the suits from VR Troopers are actually terrible. They are not the original ones. Brazil always had a tradition of showing tokusatsu in it's TV, since the 60 I think and the original series Shaider, Spielvan and Metalder were purchased by Brazilian distributors much before the purchase by Saban. Usually the original suits came to Brazil to be used in live shows. I think that is the reason the American adaptation has ridiculous suits, because they had to be remade, and whoever made them was not that good at cosplay!
First
The Gaim crossover episode might be the worst thing in all of Kamen Rider, and certainly the worst thing about Gaim.
