This guy is too good to be the last TenShin Warrior, instead he could be the begging of many new ones!! Good skills AND a good teacher, you don't see very often.
Sensei, what a awesome video! Facinating and inspiring, how you deflect and direct your uke in vairiuos ways by appling sayunage. It could be interesting to see more of these classic aikido tech. being applide/changed into more combating tech. Thankyou Sensei.
Good video! I like how the ukenagashi takes uke's center and breaks balance at first contact. So many traditionalists, do not understand that you must move through uke after taking center. There is a confusion about making contact and not accommodating uke.
Alex Monaghan he is on target...everything we do when attacking is making sure the attack is direct. the angle plus evasion makes look off since you are suppose to make contact extended. thanks for the comment.
Steven Seagals' Aikido style looks absolutely beautiful to watch...Better than Osensei, but it's not necessarily practical or realistic against an above average fighter.
I have trained in Aikido for 20 years under a Shihan who's dan certificate was signed by Osensei and who started Aikido in the early 50's. I idolised Steven Seagals Aikido since I was 10 years old. I got kicked out of the Aikido Journal forum for saying Seagals Aikido was the best you will ever see and is better than O'sensei. In 2007 I started Gracie Jiu Jitsu (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) It was only then when I realised how brainwashed I had become and how useless Aikido is against someone who knows Gracie Jiu Jitsu. I also trained under legendary streetfighter Paul Vunak and passed the US Navy Seals combat course taught to Seal team 6. I would happily train with you and show you how unrealistic it is.
acquiesce100 i have trained in other arts as well and have very good friends who train im bjj and mma etc. yes i agree aikido can be very unrealistic but I also must say from experience it can also be done in a very real way. The training has to be real very real. there must also be a street understanding too in which I know all to well. thanks for the comments.
This kind of bragging talk is so egotistical and unproductive. Unfortunately, in real life, inflated ego is the weakest link. And it gives a bad reputation to the spirit of martial arts.

Thanks very interesting video
Hello how are you? thank you for your help
Is moving to the side neccesary when doing the Suriage arm deflection?
yes it is.
+Jaime Calderon Both the Suriage cut and moving sideways at the same time?
+Aung Thiha Phyo only after you make contact...everyone always moves too soon
+Jaime Calderon So if somebody punches to the face, I am gonna have to do the Suriage deflection cut before moving to the side?
Aung Thiha Phyo its a split second difference
Nice sir

+Walter Casteel you are welcome
this would be better if uke was making a better attack he's not even on target for the first technec
Alex Monaghan he is on target...everything we do when attacking is making sure the attack is direct. the angle plus evasion makes look off since you are suppose to make contact extended. thanks for the comment.
Dig it
The whole idea of forfeiting the line of attack is a bad description of aikido. There is a small rotation in every irime.

acquiesce100 you would have to train with us to understand more not everything is as it seems
