  • Here is one of the best head lamp to come across my desk for performance! This is Nitecore new HC65! This is feature packed and robust! This is a complete kit which comes with everything you need right out of the box! Nice style and design. Machining & finish are very good! This is USB rechargeable for people on the go! Comfortable to wear for long hours. This has one of the best beam patterns I have seen on a head lamp. Link below to the nitecorestore.com:

    Someone gave my previous post a like so l thought l would give an update after having had more experience with the headlamp and having thoroughly gone through the manual.
    I have had this lamp for a while now. I have used it at every opportunity. I have discovered that when the battery starts to become flat the top level within the 5 levels of brightness will progressively become unavailable. If you are to down to the 3rd level for example 2 more presses will bring you back to the first level. This gives you a good indication of expected battery life without having to check the battery indicator. Still no discernable weakness other than the minor one l previously mentioned. A great headlamp 5/5 rating.

    I've been using this headlamp for over a year now, and I gotta say, this has absolutely surpassed my expectations. Two minor gripes I have with it though, are its headband and light output when the battery level is low.
    I always have to adjust the headband before I put it on my head, since it constantly loosens itself while I'm wearing it, especially if I'm moving around a lot.
    The light output is amazing, one of the best I've seen in all the headlamps I've owned and used. I usually keep the light at 80 lumens while I'm working, but when the battery is low(around 3.3v-3.4v), it increases its light output to around 200 lumens and stays there until it switches to the 1 lumen mode.
    Its water-resistance is also a great feature to have especially for me who works in an environment where it frequently rains and floods.
    I get around around 5 hours of usage on the 80 lumen mode, and since I have multiple 3000mAh 18650 batteries, it's not much of an issue.
    Other than the two minor gripes that I have mentioned, I have no other problems with the headlamp itself and I recommend this to anyone who is thinking of buying a proper headlamp.
    I'd give this a solid 9.5/10 rating.

    Ive been using this headlamp for over a year. It's the best I've ever had. Saying that only problems are headband moves around too easily. Also the cap for charging unscrews too far so it can potentially be lost. Still, best headlamp I have ever owned and I highly recommend it.

    "In the wilderness " You are so disarming with your finely muffled voice & clear diction - & a great review!
    As to the warranty - this is the 1st sentence of that warranty from the Nitecore site;
    "This site and the materials and products on this site are provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied."
    I heard your mention of a 5 year warranty & this is confusing. Your help and expertise are most appreciated.

    I bought this lamp based on this review . The only weakness l can see so far is that you need to take the cap off when charging. There is a danger you could lose it.
    I then proceeded to learn how to use the lamp using this video. Very easy to follow. Now to go through the manual.
    Thanks for this video Charles

    Neat user mod for the charging cap would be a tiny wire lanyard so you can't ever lose it :) thanks for a great review, I'm beyond sold on this. I was going to pay $50 for a Petzl with similar features but that has 1/3 the brightness. Also, it uses THREE AAAs, and the proprietary rechargeable battery pack was $26 😳 this HC65 SMOKES the $250 surefire Maximus in my eyes because it's 1/3 the price and twice as bright, and doesn't require a specialty charger. The added functionality of the red and low power natural light are great too.

    hi, nice review. Is there an option to see the battery level without taking out the battery? i think it takes too long... so at 3.9 Volts you will have 3 flashes , pause and 9 flashes more... well great light anyway, i bought it and i hope they will include a USB 3.0 version in the future.
    Do you know any other headlights similar to the HC65 with USB 3.0 and 18650 sized? ( i saw the " Fenix HL60R"(without usb 3.0) and the "Jetbeam HR30 " but it´s bigger and and i like the nitecore light modes)

    Hello sir, great review. I have this light as well and have some comments that maybe you can address-
    I'm having trouble understanding clear lens and smooth reflector in a headlamp. There is a very and pronounced bright hot spot - granted with spill- i think frosted lens and or orange pill reflector would be more useful. IMHO a floody wall of light of 99 degrees let's say is a far superior beam l
    Patern then hot spot with flood.
    Unfortunately there is no headlamp with a true floody light in nitecore.
    Also unfortunately I can't seem to locate the led temperature on this light , but from what I can see it's pretty cold and the CRI probably not very impressive.

    • @CharlesBridgTec
      @CharlesBridgTec  3 роки тому +2

      CRI is good. Its more of a 5700k. Texture reflector will smooth out beam and spread hot spot (bleed more) while a smooth reflector will be sharper and more intense hot spot with let bleeding to the spill area and cut off is sharper as well. Thanks for watching!
