The headlamps are by Far the most practical torch you can have......huuuge lumens and amazing throws are nice but rarely needed in the real world........ease of use lightweight and battery life are most important features

He he, its about time to buy a good headlamp. My first start is always Sofirn. Whats available. Then I watch your (excellent as always Charles) review again. That makes me informed. This SP40 really looks nice. You are right 1200lm is a lot for a head lamp. 90lm and 450lm will do nicely but you never know. Suppose you are in Scotland, lake Loch Ness. And Nessie shows up. And you don’t have enough light. So in such cases 1200lm will give that extra push.

I been interested in right angle light to EDC, you yet again where very helpful, picked this up and is near perfect for the price. It has been updated with a magnetic tail cap and is fairly strong. Four quick clicks enables lock out and four clicks to unlock, nice broad hot spot with neutral tint, excellent. Standard sofirn pocket clip which is good. Just ordered a second one, thank you again!
Oh, and by the way, if you have a nicron n7 flashlight, it fits in headband perfectly. Since I'm using the sp40 for EDC with pocket clip this was perfect for me as I was looking for the headband for n7 and is $10, and the sofirn headband is better.

Ordered the the double kit with this SP40 and the SP36. Very impressed with this headlamp. Perfect size and brightness for what it is, and the battery life is really solid. I am a little concerned with the rubber flap on the charging port though. Not sure if I trust it in a water scenario. Seems hard to get it closed as well as it needs to be.

If I remember correctly, it's from off you triple click for SOS, double click for strobe. UI may have changed so you may have to press down and hold from strobe. Thanks for watching!

I'm using Fenix HL50 powered by AAA battery. Not sure if im ready to put a 1000lms lamp powered by a cheap 18650 battery on my forehead

in mine the green power indicator goes on only for five seconds when the light is on then goes off. I saw yours it keeps on while the flashlight is use..is there a way to fix that?

How long does the battery last on each setting??
